Who says a vamp can't have it all?

Darcy Newhart thought it was a stroke of genius—the first–ever reality TV show where mortals vie with vampires for the title of The Sexiest Man on Earth. As the show's director, Darcy's career would be on track again. And she can finally have a life apart from the vampire harem. Okay, so she's still technically dead, but two out of three's not bad. Now she just has to make sure that a mortal doesn't win. If only she wasn't so distracted by a super–sexy and live contestant named Austin...

But Darcy doesn't know the worst of it. Austin Erickson is actually a vampire slayer! And he's got his eye on the show's leggy blond director. Only problem is, he's never wanted any woman—living or dead—as badly. But if he wins her heart, will he lose his soul? And if it means an eternity of hot, passionate loving with Darcy, does that really matter anyway?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bachelorettes meets campy amateur game show = fun read I did not really like the first book in the series (How to marry a millionaire) but since I already purchased Vamps in the City I decided give it another chance ... I'm very happy I did. The second book spends more time developing the characters and there are ALOT of varied vampires and humans each with very different personalities. The romance between Austin and Darcy builds from their first meeting and somehow despite their differences and a crazy "reality" game show they are able to find enough quality time to strengthen their bond. Darcy's real struggle to be optimistic despite her internal sadness was heartbreaking. I love how Austin tried so hard to be open minded while he struggled with his beliefs and duty. #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Vamps and the City" by Kerrelyn Sparks. Book 2 in the Love at Stake series. I really enjoyed this book! It's not your typical alpha male warrior swoops in to save the day kind of story (although the male character is quite alpha and he does kind of save the day). It had quite a lot of funny scenes in it. Darcy (the heroine) is not happy being a vampire. She is trying to get her life back under control and ends up getting a job as a director of the first vampire reality show Sexiest Man on Earth. Austin (the hero) is an undercover CIA agent who works for the Stake Out team, a team dedicated to killing vampires. His boss gets him on the show as a contestant where he is to find information about his boss's daughter and any other info that will help the team in finding and killing more vampires. When Austin meets Darcy, he starts to question if all vampires are bad, or just some? The plot in this story was really good. I will continue to read this series. I want to know what happens to all the other characters in the book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved It!!! Here's reality TV with a twist! Darcy is a vamp who is given the opportunity with her own reality TV show, The Sexist Man on Earth for vampire TV, but to give the show a twist she has mortal men along side vamp men......who will win in the end???? Austin is part of the CIA Stake Out team and his boss gives him and a partner an undercover mission.....being contestents on the vamp reality TV show! Darcy is the perfect woman for Austin but he is not sure if she is mortal or vamp....and he's really hoping for mortal. Darcy has never felt such desire for another man, and it's been four years with no man at all, but she doesn't want to get close to him because he is mortal. This book is fun, and if you enjoyed the reality show The Bachlor, you should really like this book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buffy the Vampire Slayer Meets The Bachlor This is Darcy's story. As one of Roman's ex harem girls, Darcy wants to make it on her own. She works at DVN and comes up with the idea for a reality show where a group of men (half human/half vampire) compete to be the new master of Roman's ex harem. The only trouble is that one of the contestants is out for more that the money. Austin gets his way onto the show so that he can find Shanna Whelan(he bosses daughter). The only trouble is Austin isn't interested in any of the female contestants. He wants Darcy. I did enjoy this story, but the end disappointed me. This is still a book I would recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful Follow-up I enjoyed this book alot, although a little less than the first. It is the second book in the 'Love at Stake' series that i highly recommend. This book revolves around Darcy a vamp from the ex-harem, and Austin an agent from the Stake-out team. It's filled with humor and romance and game show called "The Sexiest Man on Earth". A quick and easy read that you will really enjoy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun Vamp Romance This is the second in a series (How To Marry a Millionaire Vampire is the first one). Each book is set in the same world, with a different vampire getting the romantic story line in every book. In these books, there are good vampires - who drink synthetic blood and don't kill humans and watch vampire soap operas at night - and the Malcontents who won't go with the new ways and still want to drink their blood fresh from a human. The little twist in this novel is that the vampire is a woman - Darcy. She had been a tv journalist when she was human and was turned to save her life when a Malcontent murdered her. She is so young as a vampire that she has only been bottle fed her whole life. Desperate to get back into television, she turns to the vampire network and ends up directing a reality tv show called the Sexiest Man on Earth. The winner will gets tons of money and Roman's old harem (a story line continuing from the first book). The twist - Darcy has added some mortals to the contestant list. Only the humans have a secret too. Can Darcy love a human man or is to dangerous? Is she about to learn why all vampires have fangs? This is a really fun series and a different couple every book keeps it fresh. It is unfortunate that the names are kind of stupid but I'm really enjoying them and can't wait to read the next one!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vampire Television I just finshed this novel recently and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The basic idea of the book is that Darcy (a vampire) is going to be the director of a new vampire reality show called The Sexiest Man on Earth including both vamps and mortals and she falls in in love with one of the contestants, a mortal no less, named Adam. It turns out Adam isn't who she thought he is. His real name is Austin and he works for the CIA stake-out team whose job is destroy all vampires but that becomes pretty hard when he falls in love with Darcy the vampire. He soon realizes not all vampires are bad and runs into a dilema. Keep his job and lose Darcy or lose his job and possibly still lose Darcy. Its a hard decision but you'll have to read the book to find out what happens. I'm sure yuo'll love it as much as I did. Happy reading!
