Rated 4 out of 5 by from a Viscount worth waiting for... I absolutely can't stop loving Colin! He's the type of brother I wish I have! I mean, he loves his family for sure, but he's also mischievous! And Anthony and Kate, what can I say? Sparks really did fly between them. Both characters were so into family and reading about them play Pall Mall made me want to join in or just be a spectator! -LoL-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly entertaining! Now in London for the season, Kate is more determined to help her sister find a husband than to find one for herself. She doesn’t believe than any man would find her attractive and demure enough to ever want her. But when she learns that Anthony Bridgerton has in mind to ask for her sister’s hand, she’s dead set against it. She believe Anthony is the worst sort of rake, and while love doesn’t have to be present right off the bat, she doesn’t want her sister in a loveless marriage where her heart would be broken by a faithless husband. After her sister, Edwina, announces casually that she won’t marry unless she has her sister’s approval, things turn difficult. And Anthony will do what is necessary. They find each other completely impossible to deal with, not wanting to like each other at all. Anthony believes that Edwina would be the perfect bride. Kate believes that Anthony is all wrong for her sister - and is determined to keep them separated at all costs. What she didn’t count on was her attraction to him, nor was she counting on falling in love with him. And that, to her, only makes matters worse, for Anthony refuses to fall in love, believing that he will die young and doesn’t want to leave behind a family who loved him to no end, like his father before him. While Anthony was just eighteen when his father died at the age of thirty-four from an apparent bee sting, Anthony is terrified of the same thing - and of falling in love. An incredibly beautiful story. I loved watching Kate and Anthony ‘duel’ each other, words and actions. The way the author writes them with such conviction makes them very real with definite personalities that, while they don’t like each other, they are similar in ways that warms a reader’s heart. From one disaster to another, the attraction between the two grows and while neither wants to admit it, this reader was cheering happily with a ‘ha-ha, just you wait and see’ laugh. I’d have to say my favourite scene is the Pall Mall game, in which Anthony gets a taste of his own medicine. Ms. Quinn writes superbly, sucking you right into the story of lives all around, while the main characters are still the focus. Descriptions are beautifully done - you can see everything lively in your mind, to what the characters are wearing, their demeanors and their surroundings. I can’t wait to get my hands on the third installment of the series!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved It I have read several of Julia Quinn’s novels and I must say that “The Viscount who loved me” does not disappoint. Like many of her novels, Julia Quinn has created two irresistible main characters and a story that has you going through an emotional rollercoaster. This book is one of favorites of Julia Quinn novels and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance novels. Even if you aren’t a Julia Quinn fan you should give this book a try!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm Hooked! This is the first Julia Quinn novel that I have read, and I'm suprised that I haven't read any of her novels earlier. I totally fell in love with the "Bridgertons", and now must read the series. The main characters; Anthony and Kate had a spark that leapt off the pages, and their interaction with each other had me anticipating for more. There is a scene in the story that bordered on being ridiculous but had me laughing. The only one critical thing I have to say about the novel, was that near the end of the story I thought that there were too much flowerly words of love. Don't get me wrong I am a romance lover, but felt it went beyond what was necessary. Like I said before I'm hooked on the Bridgertons and will be looking forward to reading the series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Always worth the read Ms. Quinn always writes a spellbinding novel. It's actually quite sad, because for the few days it may take me to read her latest books, my family, friends, work.. everything is ignored. This time it was Anthony Bridegerton and I assure you, well worth it. He refuses to fall in love with any "bride-to-be" and you know it's going to happen, but you delight in following the story in which he resists until the end. Great story!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ANOTHER DELIGHT by JULIA QUINN! This is Julia Quinn's second book based on the delightful Bridgerton's. The other being the equally enjoyable, The Duke and I. Anthony Bridgerton has decided to marry. He looks towards the debutantes making their London season, for beauty and intelligence. The only condition is that she must be someone he would not love. He decides on Edwina Sheffield, the declared "diamond" of the season. But Edwina has let it be known that she will only accept a suitor that will be approved by her older sister, Kate. Kate Sheffield is aware of Anthony's reputation as a rake and is determined to prevent the betrothal. The battle begins. For what would seem a straight forward romance is deftly creative in Quinn's hands. Such as; their unresolved issues resulting from Anthony's father and Kate's mother death's at an early age. It adds such depth of emotion and a novel twist to an already well developed story. Standing on the sidelines with her clever reports is the ever intrguing "Lady Whistledown". Happily there are a number of Bridgerton's waiting for their stories to be told.... I dear reader, wait impatiently!
