Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great History of Canada Rikia Saddy has produced a fine work. The elegant simplicity of this book, the beautiful binding, and the flow of the text, just begs to be read. I read and thoroughly enjoyed "We Are Canada". My Mother read it over coffee, and was thrilled. The stories Rikia told were of remarkable similarity to that of my family, and Mom raved about this gorgeous piece of Canadiana for quite some time. "We Are Canada" is a 'must have' for your personal library! Great book - I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Wonderful Piece of Canadiana! I have just obtained a copy of Rikia Saddy's new book "We Are Canada" (wearecanada.org). Paradoxically, its elegant simplicity allows for a depth of meaning that would otherwise be lost in heavier prose. The illustrations by Cameron McLellan are a perfect match for the text. I loved several quotes, but I will leave you with my favourite on page 77 - "If we, the people of the world, are going to survive, we're going to have to work together. And who knows how to do that? Canada."

Editorial Reviews

"A short history with a big heart. A timely reminder of who we are, written to be re-read so we never forget." - Mark Kelley, CBC"We Are Canada is a deceptively simple book with some powerful truths about our country."- Jamie Broadhurst, Raincoast Books"This is a gem of a book, playful, concise, intelligent and hopeful. Rikia manages to dispel some of the more popular myths about our country while presenting a much more accurate and compelling version of Canadian history. With endearing illustrations by Cameron McLellan this deceptively child-like book is suitable for anyone of any age who wants to know more about our country. Bravo." - Brad Fraser, playwright
