A return to the characters of The Lonely Hearts Club, from romantic comedy star Elizabeth Eulberg.

Penny Lane Bloom thinks she has everything figured out. She's begun dating Ryan Bauer, and the Lonely Hearts Club is as strong as ever (only three members have boyfriends, so Saturday night meetings are still strictly girls-only).

But Penny soon realizes that balancing dating and the Club is a lot harder than she thought. And between friends, boyfriends, family, and senior year, she's going to have to find a way to make it all work out.

ELIZABETH EULBERG was born and raised in Wisconsin before heading off to college in Syracuse and making a career in the New York City book biz. She is the author of The Lonley Hearts Club, Prom and Prejudice, Take a Bow, Revenge of the Girl With the Great Personality, and Better Off Friends. You can find her on the Web at www.elizabeth...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great Sequel! When I read The Lonely Hearts Club, I was enamoured with Penny and her story. I loved seeing the themes of friendship and camaraderie that the girls all shared and the love they had for each other. If you enjoyed The Lonely Hearts Club, you’re definitely going to enjoy We Can Work it Out! Penny, Tracy and Diane are back in this entertaining and awesome sequel and you are all going to enjoy it! I absolutely adored seeing Penny’s story continue almost directly after the events of The Lonely Hearts Club. Penny is still the spunky girl I’ve grown to love, and I hope that readers will grow to love her as much as I do. I loved her attitude and how she stuck to her guts. This quote accurately describes Penny, and all that I love about her: “If being a strong, independent woman made me a bitch, then I was a total bitch. And proud of it.” (pg 195, ARC version) Penny is a great protagonist, and although she makes some mistakes, which teenagers don’t? The romance in this book was exactly what I’d expect from Elizabeth Eulberg, a little drama-filled but adorable and swoony until the end! The supporting characters were also fabulous, and exactly what the name suggests. Penny’s friends were all super supportive and The Lonely Hearts Club was the tight-knit community I’ve grown to love. While this book was a little on the light side, this book explores some deeper themes and what it means to be heartbroken. If you’re looking for a fun and cute series to read, I highly recommend The Lonely Hearts Club and its fantastic sequel, We Can Work it Out!
