about

Your date with ski champ Jett Casey is an either/or deal. He’ll take you off-piste for the ultimate Montana ski adventure or he’ll put his handyman skills at your disposal for a week. Which one would you choose?

Single mom Mardie Griffin has a run-down old house in need of fixing and a memory of Jett Casey as her savior in a time of great need. So when her friends acquire Jett’s services at a bachelor auction and send him to fix up her house, she sets aside her mistrust of men and lets him in.

Elite athlete Jett Casey has the world at his feet and no desire for stability. But there’s one woman he’s never forgotten and if he can help make her safe this time, maybe she’ll stop haunting him.

No strings, no sex, no commitment. Just fix things. Surely it can’t be that difficult…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun is essential! The review title, a quote from Jett sums it up - "Flirting is fun. And fun is essential" This book has everything - well-developed hero and heroine, fun, humor, sweet, but also lots of chemistry. I really liked that Jett and Mardie were both direct and up front about their feelings and what they wanted from the relationship right from the beginning - a refreshing change from the common "angst and misunderstanding" theme in so many romance books. This book was hard to put down and I'll be looking for more from Kelly Hunter.

He’ll take you off-piste for the ultimate Montana ski adventure or he’ll put his handyman skills at your disposal for a week. No strings, no sex, no commitment. Just fix things. Surely it can’t be that difficult… My review: I really, really like Jett! He is fun, easy going and gets things done! He's thought a lot of Mardie over the years, and it was really unique how they finally meet again. I really like how Jett is with Mardie. He wants to help her and keep her safe, but he doesn't overstep her boundaries (too much!). Jett is very attracted to Mardie, secretly he always has been. Is Mardie ready for more though? The last time they met was a night Mardie would rather forget. She's moved on since then, and she is fiercely independent, determined and strong. She is so independent she doesn't want to accept any help at all...even when she needs it desperately but won't admit it. But with a young daughter to think of now, Mardie just might have to lean on someone else for a little while. As she's accepting some help, she finds her walls slowly crumbling just a little. If she has a little fun with Jett, what will it hurt? Jett might do more than fix up Mardie's house...if she lets him he can help her heart start to heal. What A Bachelor Needs is a fast paced novella with good a good romantic build up. The characters are interesting (love Mardie's little daughter, and Jett's brother must have a story lurking in there somewhere!!) and kept me involved in their story. What A Bachelor Needs is part of the Montana Born Bachelor Auction series, but can definitely be read as a stand alone (although the whole series is great!). I'd recommend this to romance readers looking for a quick, feel good romance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sweet and sexy story! This lovely romance is the story of Jett and Mardie. After rescuing Mardie from a difficult situation two years prior, she had never left Jett's mind. Now he's been purchased in a bachelor auction to be her handyman for a week and is determined to make up for what he sees as a personal failure from the past. Mardie knows not to look a gift horse in the mouth and having Jett around to help fix up her house is a godsend. But when Jett appears as interested in her as in his handyman job, will she be willing to open herself up to the possibility of something more? I really enjoyed this story! Jett is the sweetest guy - strong, dependable, capable and flirtatious. He's pretty much always gotten what he wanted, with women and in life and being sidelined from his skiing has given him the chance to focus on what he really wants for his future. Much to his surprise, the quiet strength and beauty of Mardie calls to him like no other woman, and his attraction to her has not been diminished over time and their past history. I loved Mardie's character too - she's overcome a bad marriage, is raising a child on her own and has found the inner strength required to move forward. The sexual attraction between her and Jett is hard to deny and leads to some sweet and sexy scenes between them. I enjoyed the banter between them and the sexual tension heating up as the week progressed. Equally as interesting were the secondary characters, friends and family of Mardie and Jett who want only the best for each of them and realize that together they make a great pair. I don't always like stories with young children in them, but this one was done really well and the interaction of Jett with Mardie's daughter Claire was super sweet and loveable. For me, this was a truly enjoyable and entertaining read. 5 stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A cute and heartwarming read. Jett and Mardie crossed paths at one of the lowest points in her life. He was their when she had no one to rely on in her time of need. Jett never forgot Mardie and wished he could have done more to help her. When their paths cross again at a bachelor auction, Jett finds himself recruited to help now single mom Mardie get her run residence in order for her and her daughter. Despite Mardie better judgement she agrees to allow him to help her. This time Jett is not willing to allow anything or anyone to harm Mardie or her daughter. He will keep them safe and maybe gain the family he never knew he wanted. I received an ARC of What a Bachelor needs for an honest review. I found this story to be a cute, heartwarming read.
