"David Sedaris's ability to transform the mortification of everyday life into wildly entertaining art," (The Christian Science Monitor) is elevated to wilder and more entertaining heights than ever in this remarkable new book.?

In essay after essay, Sedaris proceeds from bizarre conundrums of daily life-having a lozenge fall from your mouth into the lap of a fellow passenger on a plane or armoring the windows with LP covers to protect the house from neurotic songbirds-to the most deeply resonant human truths.? Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another great Sedaris book I am rating this 4/5 because I think Me Talk Pretty One Day, and Naked are both 5/5. WYAEIF is in the same vein- essay memoirs from his upbringing, when he first left home up to relocating to France. Certain chapters are funnier than others, and I didn't laugh as much as the other two titles, but it's still a great read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Always a good laugh. I fell in love with Amy Sedaris on Letterman back in the good old days and that's how I discovered her brother David who is by far my favorite humorist/essayist/columnist. His writing can turn any of my gloomiest days into a bright ray of sunshine. This is just another great laugh out loud read. #plumreviews.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another great read Another witty and great read by David Sedaris. While I think I enjoyed some of his other works a little more, I certainly wasn't disappointed. If you enjoy humourist books, I would recommend any of his.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes! Sedaris deals with his mid-life crisis in these thoroughly entertaining and well-crafted essays. I’m constantly amazed at how he can weave seemingly disparate topics together to make meaningful messages. They are always camouflaged in comedy. He makes addiction sound so deceptively innocent. And his old, potty-mouthed neighbour is fantastic, as are his adventures with Normandy’s wild life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarious. I took this book on a family vacation and it was the perfect choice to block out complaining relatives and screaming kids around the pool! I was lost in my own world and could not stop laughing. I've read all of Sedaris's books, but this one is one of my favourites!

Editorial Reviews

"Sedaris is certainly worthy of hero worship-he so breezily translates the landscape through his bent, prismatic view that he makes you forget what a skillful narrator he is."-Mark Washburn, Charlotte Observer
