about

Completely revised and expanded brand-new edition of Volume I, the first book in the Whiskey poetry trilogy!

Whiskey, Words, and a Shovel, Vol. 1, is about reclaiming your power on the path to a healthy relationship. It is a testament to choosing to love yourself, even if it means heartbreak.

Originally released in 2015, this re-rerelease packs the same punch as the first version, but makes an even greater connection with the soul of the reader. Each piece has been re-seen and revamped to reflect the author’s continuing journey with his partner, Samantha King, without whom this book would not exist. Samantha is the muse, the “she” the writer speaks of; she is every woman who has felt like she wasn’t good enough, and every woman who struggles to find love.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It`s Raw and to the Point! Ok well this writer does not sugar coat anything. The boxing gloves are off and he tells you straight which is good. Sometimes being raw and to the point is needed. The truths reveled in his words tells you he has such a deep understanding regarding human emotions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Short and Sweet The verses written in the book of poetry are simple, yet speak loud volumes. There are days where I need a boost of encouragement to get through the day, and any page I turn to will give me a sense of belonging. r.h. Sin is defiantly one of my new favourite authors and I devour every word he writes. Highly recommend to tortured souls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I'm not much of a poetry person but this book really struck a chord with me. Maybe it's because I'm going through a tough time right now but the fact of the matter is that it's really helping me and resonating with me. I'm definitely going to be buying the second and the third, and maybe even his newest one! I love this book!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Change my mind. Originally I gave this a 'meh' review but after reading it a second time I liked it a whole lot more. Sure some of the lines are cliche and anyone could probably come up with something like that but a lot of them relate to personal struggle and I like that R.H Sin is very pro-women and realizes the difficulties we face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from loved this! loved reading words about women and self love
Date published: 2017-08-21
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Liked it, not my favorite. I liked it and you can take a lot from it especially for women regarding self love and appreciation but I feel it's a little over-hyped. I didn't like it as much as I was hoping I would. I still prefer Lang Leav's work over this.
Date published: 2017-08-19
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cool! My sister loved the poems in this book.
Date published: 2017-07-30
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad There are a lot of poems referring to "lesser men" and the women who wind up choosing to date them. It takes a certain state of mind to get into this subject matter. That being said, I enjoyed the path for a healthy relationship that the writer outlines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from needed this after a life altering divorce, I sat with this book and reclaimed my strength. such simple lines with such depth. If you're going to get this one, get book II and III as well. they are worth having on the shelf to remind us when things get gloomy, of just how special we are.
