Sherwood Anderson (1876-1941) was an influential American author whose works inspired a number of other important writers including William Faulkner, Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, Ray Bradbury, and J.D. Salinger.  His best-known and most highly regarded work is WINESBURG, OHIO.
