Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cavern of Secrets (Wing & Claw #2) by Linda Sue Park, Jim Madsen ( For a book with a map at the front of it, this is very clearly written and fast-paced. While it includes the fantasy trope of children fighting encroaching evil, the inclusion of the herb lore makes this interesting-- the children are going in search of plants instead of a magical audience. The cliff hanger at the end of this will make readers want to pick up the next book.

Editorial Reviews

As in life, the choices are never black and white as Park’s realistically flawed characters struggle between looking out for the greater good or for themselves.
