Rated 5 out of 5 by from I own alot of big books, but this is ridiculous The adamantium collection.....It's big. I mean really big. Its so big I felt bad for the mail carrier who had to carry the box into my office. The packing slip lists the weight including the boxes ( 2 boxes, Marvels, and shippers ) at 20.35 lbs. Free shipping was worth its weight this time. The quality of this volume is wonderful. It weighs a ton and Marvel certainly made sure the structure of the slip case, and book was adequate for the weight and dimensions. Marvel also took a smart approach and did not leave any chance of a shipper, or supplier damaging this very expensive collection, by packing it in it's own custom box with some extra padding. I'm sure this will cut down on returns because of damage. The book itself contains 5 collected trade, Wolverine mini series, Weapon X, Wolverine Origin, Not dead yet, and wolverine and the X-MEN 1-3, plus 4 or 5 single issues. Add up the cost of all 5 trades, and they would probably cost you about $65 ( AMAZON PRICES ). Does that fact deter one from buying this vol. ? I guess it all depends on how much you appreciate presentation and extra content. The extras are quite extensive with full page variant covers, sketches, character designs, and commentaries. The presentation is something of an art book. The paper quality is amazing, the binding flawless, and the reproduction of the comics are wonderful. This is a quality purchase with some amazingly high production values. Would I pay $200 for this? No ! Would I pay $100? Yes. This is a nice combination of comic collection, and art book all rolled into one. If you love Wolverine you should buy this book. If you love amazing comic production you should buy this book. Anyone else should just buy the trades... 5 stars for this without any hesitation. As complete of a collection of Wolverine stories as one could expect in 700 pages. It chronicles the most important parts of Wolvie's life in chronological order ( not published order)
