Y: THE LAST MAN, winner of three Eisner Awards and one of the most critically acclaimed, best-selling comic books series of the last decade, is that rare example of a page-turner that is at once humorous, socially relevant and endlessly surprising.

Written by Brian K. Vaughan (LOST, PRIDE OF BAGHDAD, EX MACHINA) and with art by Pia Guerra, this is the saga of Yorick Brown—the only human survivor of a planet-wide plague that instantly kills every mammal possessing a Y chromosome. Accompanied by a mysterious government agent, a brilliant young geneticist and his pet monkey, Ampersand, Yorick travels the world in search of his lost love and the answer to why he's the last man on earth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! To my felllow GONE fans, read this. This is a better start then The Walking Dead. I've tried to read TWD but it never really caught my attention. I don't know if you know this about me but I am not very patient. It's either Get Exciting Now or Back to the Library for you. This book was interesting and intricate. The multi-character perspective never got confusing and worked very well to add suspense into the plot. I will definitely pick up the next volume from the library. Into the favourites shelf you go. :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like the story and the artwork was good 3.5 stars Suddenly, everything on Earth with a Y chromosome has died, including humans and animals - except for Yorick and his monkey, Ampersand. Yorick just wants to find his girlfriend in Australia, but with the ensuing chaos, he must keep himself hidden. He initially makes his way to the White House, where his mom is a high-ranking politician. She finds someone, Agent 355, to act as a sort of bodyguard, as they head to a find a doctor, who specializes in cloning, in hopes that Yorick can help keep the human race alive. It was good. I like the story and the artwork was good (it’s a graphic novel). At the beginning, I had to be careful to pay attention to the times and places as the story goes back and forth a little, initially. I will continue the series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic series This is the story of Yorick Brown and his monkey, Amperand, the last male mammals left following a 'gendercide" of global proportion. They set off on a quest for answers - and for the girl Yorick lost when the world as they know it came to an end. A very intelligent series. The pacing is superb, and the characters are likable and unpredictable enough to keep you guessing through all ten volumes. Want to know how the world might turn out when women take over? Here's a chance to find out.
