Customer Reviews of Yoga For Beginners

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good First Step This may not be the best or most complete yoga book available, but it's an excellent way to start your practice. Not everyone has the time or motivation to take a yoga class, and a book like this makes it easier to begin practising at home. The beginner's routine includes variations on every pose which allows those of us less flexible to ease into the asanas at their own pace, and thus the book is an excellent guide for people without previous experience. After time it's inevitable that one will want to take a class to correct their postures and learn more about yoga, but until then this book is an excellent gateway into the practice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An Excellent First Step I found Yoga for Beginners to serve as an excellent supplement to my introductory Yoga class in that it offers another perspective with excellent visual maps to a variety of positions. I am not certain whether I would recommend this a the sole resource for those interested starting in Yoga - the class environment can offer so much more - but for those who are shy or already taking classes, this book will come in handy! The coil binding and stand also make this book all the more user friendly in one's practise.
