about

You might be an Islander if...

  • You cried when Stompin' Tom died
  • You still give directions based on the purple house on St. Peter's Road
  • You were born knowing how to break down a lobster

A book about the Island for Islanders.

"Prince Edward Island is far more than postcard vistas, bountiful food and literary heroines with red hair. This book is full to the scuppers with everything that makes it unique and colourful!" - Chef Michael Smith

"Brilliant!" - Brad Richards, 2 time Stanley Cup Champion and PEI's best hockey player ever.

Ivy Knight is an Islander (from away) who grew up in Glenwilliam. Her writing has been published in the Globe and Mail, Vice, the Toronto Star and in two books for HarperCollins. This photo was taken at Southern Kings Consolidated, the esteemed learning institution that formed her into the person she is today.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Entertaining I received this book as a Christmas present from my brother-in-law. If you're not from Prince Edward Island you probably won't get half the jokes. It's a short read; a coffee table book. It's funny and cute. If you want a little book about the Island that isn't full of facts, dates or history than is a good book. I wouldn't recommend this book for anyone born after 1995 since they probably wouldn't understand some of the jokes.
