Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK A few good laughs but the hype about the movie created expectations that just weren't fulfilled.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Funny movie! I had heard mixed reviews about this movie but I liked it very much. The girls made me laugh from the beginning to the end of the movie. Now, because I am a big time girl power, equal rights, and Tina Fey intellect lover, I wanted it to be just as funny as Hangover the original was. Sorry but it was not as entertaining as that awesome movie. I do feel like it is worth buying to add to your collection though. So on one of those depressing, rainy, cloudy, and nasty days pour a glass of wine, put in the movie, and get your laugh on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just another "Chick Flick" Released in Movies Theaters May 2011 and now finally out on DVD as of Sept. 20th, 2011, Bridesmaids is not your typically “chick flick”. Starring Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live) Maya Rudolph (Saturday Night Live, Up All Night), and my favorite Melissa McCarthy (Gilmore Girls, Mike and Molly, Emmy winner). This movie is a 2 hour hilarious, smart, witty and sometimes vulgar depiction of the wedding process and what it means to be a part of someone’s wedding. It deals with lifelong friendships, relationships, heartbreak, finances and success. The friendship between Annie (Kristen Wiig) and Lillian (Maya Rudolph) is one many females can relate to. There friendship has ups and downs and is challenged on many occasions, but their special bond helps them to get through it all. Kristen and Maya, do an excellent job of making their characters relatable. I watched this movie on a girl’s night with 8 of my best friends, one who was a bride, and we were all standing up for her and we all found ourselves relating to them throughout the movie. The Wilson Phillips part was a great flash back for us, and will be for anyone who grew up in the 90’s. It is great to see a group of females behaving badly in the movies and not just leaving it all up to the boys. This is definitely the girl version of “The Hangover.” A must see for a girl’s night in, and especially for all the future brides, and bridesmaids. Don’t worry though it’s just crud enough for the boys to enjoy too. Don’t forget to watch the bonus features; the “Line-O-Rama” has lots of funny lines that were cut out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bridesmaids Review After seeing previews for this movie, it was apparent that it was a must see on the opening night. This film is not one of those movies where the trailer gives away its biggest laughs. It’s one of those outrageous comedies’ that will make you laugh until you cry, and that will also portray the importance of lifelong friendship. Actresses Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Melissa McCarthy do a fantastic job of keeping the audience intrigued to the awkward moments that follow. “Bridesmaids” is so realistic that the humour becomes very natural and relatable to viewers. This romantic comedy is quite possibly the best mainstream American comedy that we’ve seen in years! For anyone who's seen the movie “The Hangover”, this is definitely the equivalent female version! One could say it is the beginning of the battle of the sexes between the two movies. All in all, this movie definitely deserves a standing ovation for its outstanding hilarity, humanity and flawless performances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely great! After seeing previews for this movie, I just knew I had to get myself to the theatre, to see it opening night. I called a few girlfriends and planned a Girls Night Out. Three months later, my friends are still thanking me for the invite and are constantly reciting scenes from the movie. Actresses Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Melissa McCarthy are absolutely hilarious! There is definitely a great storyline to Bridesmaids as well. The wedding and relationships, friendships, finances, heartbreaks and successes are all addressed throughout the movie which gives viewers that "feel good" morality at the end. Because the movie is so realistic the humour becomes very natural and relatable to viewers. For anyone who's seen The Hangover, this is definitely the women’s version, and definitely a must-see!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Funniest Movie of the Year To be perfectly honest I had no interest in seeing this movie at first. My girlfriend picked the movie and I didn't say anything, but just the name "Bridesmaids" made it sound like something I would not like. Than the movie starts and all the stereotyping I had done at first go away. This movie is nothing what I had excepted. This movie is defintly R rated, and it dosen't hide from it. The jokes are non stop. Sometimes they go over blown, but all the other moments make up for it. This movie will always get compared to "The Hangover", and it should. Kristen Wiig is exceptial in the lead role. Not only handling the comedy very well, but also making her character grounded. John Hamm is good as a minor character, but the award for best performance goes to Melissa McCarthy, see has the funniest character on paper, and he timing and acting is perfect on the screen. Overall, don't think this just just another chick flick romantic comedy, because it is not.
