Rated 4 out of 5 by from Educational Fun I purchased the leapfrog tablet because having my son on the iPad did not meet his needs. Buying The LeapPad is one of the best decisions I’ve made to contribute to my son’s education. I like the variety of the instructional apps, games and videos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunate This app came highly recommended. However, when I downloaded it to the Ultra Leap Pad, it did not download properly and we can not use it. The game shows up only on the top left hand corner, taking up only 1/4 of the full screen. Really unfortunate as I think my kids would have loved this game. But we can't use it. I'm not sure if it was just not compatible for our leap pad.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from child not interested Your products aren't holding his interest. I bought Leap Frog because he needs to learn to read and write. I was hoping the games would be fun for him. He's been using a tablet since he was two. He's five now with a tested vocabulary of an eight year old. He's currently addicted to Utube and 5 Nights at Freddies. He started with Angry Birds at 2 and then went on to Minecraft and Plants VS Zombies. He still plays the last two once in a while. So, it's not your fault and I don't know what to do any more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My son loves it I wanting something for my three year old to play and learn his alphabet. We don't let him play on his leap pad a lot but when he does get screen time he always picks this game over coloring or anything else. Make me happy to see him enjoying it as much as he does and learning at the same time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best learning games we've gotten GREAT game for learning letter sounds and how to draw letters. My 3yo plays it a lot and finds it really fun. One of my favorite games for my daughter. I don't know if it has different difficulty levels for each age, as we've only had it for about a month.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your $$ While it does go thru the abc's it's boring and minimally interactive. My son refuses to "play" it. Wish I could get my $ back
Date published: 2017-01-16
Rated 2 out of 5 by from My son wouldn't even play it I can't really give this app a good review simply due to the fact my son wouldn't even play it. Downloaded a different alphabet game and he loves it. I'm assuming the instructional portion is too long and boring, no "skip" option available. So you have to watch it every time the app gets opened. Definitely not worth the money if you have a smart/impatient child.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product My Grandchildren love this. As soon as they come over, they grab the leap pad. One of the best purchases I have made so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great app I limit the amount of screen time my children get so when they do get screen time I try to make it quality, educational, beneficial screen time and this app does that.
Date published: 2016-11-28
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over priced and out dated I found this app to be outdated and not very captivating for the price of it. I have a kindergarten aged son who loves playing on his leap frog but he skips pass this leaning game. He's rather play a free alphabet on my phone rather than this one.
Date published: 2016-11-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad Not a bad app. Needs to allow tracing words or letter after letter instead of one letter and then exiting that game which is annoying. The main screen is also slightly hard to understand how to navigate for a 3-4 year old. I would still buy it again if I had the choice, but other apps are superior.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun My 3 1/2 yr old grandson loves it. He can navigate through it independently and has fun while learning for hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for growing minds I typically buy games that are a little advanced for my 2 year old and this one was perfect. She is able to apply her learning in school with the app and reinforce her understanding of each letter as well as practice her writing. She gets a bit frustrated at times so if it's just above your childs level check in when they get stuck. Some parent participation, along with a little gental guidance helps move her forward and it's great quality time too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yup, you'll want to get this one! One of the best letter sounds videos on the market. I first seen this a little over three years ago, when we choose it as one of the free apps on my daughters leappad2. She was hooked the first time she watched it and it ended up being the only video we needed for teaching her letters and their sounds. Well, Three years letter my son discover her old lead pad and also has become hooked on ot. He learned he's sounds in about 2 weeks completely on his own. This video just grabs their attention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game I bought this for my 2.5 y.o. son. He had never used a tablet before and picked right up on the game. He enjoyed the different activities available on the game and did not get bored. Teaches letters by visually identifying them, learning their sound, and also practice drawing them. Well rounded educational game.

This game helped him improve very quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Supplement to Learning letters! My 2 1/2 year old loves this app. He is already learning how to pronounce and trace the forms of many letters. He can recognize and say letters he sees much more than before within a very short time of playing it! I love that it's educational and that I can so clearly see the benefits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fun and informative Two boys, 3 and 4, and they love the Letter Factory. They chose this game because of the movies. My four year old who had no interest in learning his letters, can name them all! Way to go!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed This download was one of three I purchased at once for my 4 year old grandson. I was disappointed. The introduction to the game was far too lengthy. He was unwilling to listen to the characters chat; wanted to get on with it! I'm sorry I purchased.

Date published: 2016-01-05
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible This game is ruined by its inability to progress through the letter learning stages unless you perfectly perform the non-educational tasks. For instance, when trying to complete Leaps 3 part letter challenge the player has to move a small truck to catch falling balls. If a few fall then you have to start all over from the beginning. Catching balls has nothing to do with learning and even I had trouble catching them. The next challenge you have to quickly touch the letters on the conveyor belt, if you miss one or two its game over. To have to restart the whole challenge every time for something so unimportant is ridiculous! This causes the player to become annoyed and hinders the processes of completing each letter. It should not make the player have to repeat the whole game when it has nothing to do with learning!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool for learning letters I use this app in homeschooling my toddler. Helpful with phonics. I like that the tracing is easy for beginners. Visual quality has room for improvement

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Game My son loves this game. He started playing at 2 and could only recognize the letters thus only play a portion of the game. But it taught him about all the letters and sounds and as he grew he was able to play more and learn more. Now that my son is 4 he loves how the game helps him write his letters too! This is my son's favorite game and he always seems to come back to it. Great buy for years of fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great learning tool, fun and entertaining My boys are two and three and they both love playing the Letter Factory app on their Leap Pads. My 3 year old is so excited about the learning process and this is an app he will sit down and play on his own for an extended period of time. We already had the Letter Factory DVD that he watched over and over again. Now he is taking everything and putting it all together. He enjoys repeating the sound each letter makes, he can recognize his letters and he loves the feature where he can learn the correct way to write each letter. I love it for the educational aspect. It is designed perfectly for toddlers who are just beginning their learning process and this app helps to show that learning can be fun. I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from son loves it I purchased this app to help my son learn the alphabet. He new the basics, but would still get confused identifying letters. With this app he recognized letters and the sounds they make. He sings the song on the app that helps with letter sounds. I think this app really helped!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! It's essential. My son has the LeapPad XDI, I couldn't find the whole system to rate (which is excellent) so, I will rate this game. My three year old son sat down with this and played for about 20 minutes. Gleefully repeating the letters and learning so easily. Thank you for giving us such a great tool!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boring, Slow, Boring! This was the worst investment. My son loves the leapfrog characters and videos! He HATES this game and refuses to play it! It is so slow and boring. He knows all his letters and sounds and I thought this would help him with reading and spelling but I can't get him to play it. It drags out very long and slowly. It is monotonous boring and has nothing fun in it.
Date published: 2015-01-21
Rated 2 out of 5 by from too many instructions My son loved the app once you get past the instructions. It takes forever to get to the actual games every time because you have to wait for the instructions to finish. My son never wanted to wait long enough to get through them. But hopefully when he's older he'll play it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The game has some pros and cons The game is really informative. It is very educational. The only problem is that there is so much talking you have to sit through just to get to the actual game part. My daughter is 3 and not willing to sit through all that a second/third/fourth, etc. time just to get to the game. Once you get through the expository part, the game itself is pretty awesome. I just wish there was a way to by-pass the story we've heard already to get to the game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little disappointing I'm a little disappointed with this app. It is extremely picky about getting the letters exactly right, which means that my five year old son, for whom I bought the app to learn and practice with, gets frustrated and gives up because he can't "get them right." If he knew them perfectly I wouldn't need the app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing game!! We bought the leap pad 2 for our son for his 3rd birthday and this was the free app we chose. Our son fell in love with this game from the get go. In 1 week our son learned his whole alphabet and knows all the sounds. I was so shocked! He points to random letters and sings the song from the app. He is always watching this and still enjoys it. Great job leap frog!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps my grandsons interest and Keeps my grandsons interest and is easy for him to navigate, it is also very responsive. I purchased Mr. Pencil from you for those very reasons hoping for the same results but it has been a terrible disappointment. The touch is resistant and confusing and causes a great deal of stress whereas this application has excellent response on the touch, it also is clear in it's instructions whereas Mr. Pencil is not, and keeps his interest. Mr. Pencil had great potential but when you have to redo and retry the stylus over and over, the stress is too much. I have tried it myself so it's not just young hands. It simply is an inferior application whereas this one keeps him going on the alphabet ! Great app. Thanks Leapfrog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 2 Year Old Knows Her Letter Sounds! I bought our LeapPad before my daughter hit the recommended age of 3 to keep her occupied and away from my much pricier iPad. I went ahead and got the app bundle and figured she'd play around and watch the videos, but wasn't too worried about her actually learning much yet. Imagine my surprise when she came up and told me "the Q says quo"! I quizzed her on the rest of the letters, and sure enough at just 26 months old, Risah knows what all of her letters say! This is a great foundation for reading and I hope to work with her more on sounding out words. Thanks Letter Factory!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Game! My daughter loves this game. At the age of 3, she learned to recognize all her letters as well as MAKE SOUNDS OF ALL THE LETTERS. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for young kids! My 3 year old absolutely loves this game. I finally remembered to review it because I must've heard "Mommy! I got a present!" about 50 times last night. He already knows the letters and most sounds but he likes to "unlock" stuff. He's always looking for badges or shows me when he gets gold stars or medals. When the game says, "Ask your parent to connect to a computer...." he takes that literally and brings me the cord. He doesn't know what he's going to get, he just wants whatever he earned from playing. I like that it gives him a sense of accomplishment and reinforces his knowledge of the alphabet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This app is awesome! My daughter is 2, almost 3 and wow has this app given her a lot of education. Before we got this for her, she was able to distinguish a letter from a number, sometimes. After two days of playing, she is pointing out letters everywhere we go, is able to trace the letters on everything she sees (the way you would write a letter), and is able to draw her own letters with a reference. They're not awesome yet, but she is able to draw the basic structures of a letter. She also is able to identify letter sounds with pretty good accuracy. This is a great app, and I couldn't recommend it enough for your child’s basic phonics learning!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is how to practice what they learn This is one of the best apps I think we own aside from the kindergarden letter learning game (and we have like 20). It's a great way to practice new consonants in different applications so it truly helps the brain integrate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lack of autonomy This game has the potential of being educational but my 2.5 year old will not even play it long enough to appreciate its offerings. It leads the player through a learning path that dictates which letter they will learn and therefore have to master before moving on to the next letter. This leaves no room for independent thinkers and thus loses her interest very quickly. Besides that detail the game offers the player an opportunity to learn all about a letter before moving on building a good foundation for learning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very educationial for the age group/recommendation While I see some comments as to the long intro and not being able to use the skip button. Perhaps it is the downloaded version that the skip option don't work properly. As my son has the cartridge version and he skips thru it all the time. So, something to keep in mind. Also, my son is 2 years 5 months and he has learned so much from this game in very little time. By the end of the first week playing this game he was sounding out letters on his own. I would most certainly state that this is a very educational game for the age group specified. I could defiantly see how children outside of the (3-5) age recomendation group could get bored. Also, there is a good range of age appropriate activities to teach them, from learning the phonetics of letters for the younger ones to learning how to spell/read for the older of the age group.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slow and Boring My son (and myself) were completely bored with this game. After reading so many great reviews I was really disappointed. It's very repetetive and takes FOREVER to get through just one letter. I feel the animation is just too long and loses your attenton in antiicpation to being to "play" you have to constantly wait for the same conversations to go on between the characters over and over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Kindergarten Preparation! I highly recommend this game if your child is getting ready to start kindergarten, ages 4&5, especially if he/she is not in a good preschool program. This would also be great if you need to catch your little Kindergartner up on his/her letters and simple spelling. I bought this game because my daughter did not show interest in learning her letters like other children her age. This is teaching her to recognize her letters, their sounds, and how to write them the correct way for Kindergarten. You may need to encourage your child to keep playing it the first couple of times, but then once they get the hang of it, should get hooked. If your child does not show much interest at first, keep showing interest in it yourself and your child will find enjoyment "showing you" how to play the game, all the while "learning" as they do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Teaching my children and giving me a break! The leappads said they were for children 3 to 9. However, after buying my daughter one for her third birthday and caught my 2 year old playing with it constantly I realized that 2 was plenty old for this toy! I bought a second one and now we take them everywhere! They seriously have made my life easier, and happier. Dinners out are now quiet, long drives are fuss free, and bed time is a joy! this is our favorite game so far... it matches the video was taught my children their ABC's at just 18 months old (each). thanks Leappad for making this mommy's life a little (no a lot) easier! Both girls love this game (ages 2 and 4 now).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from my kid loves it! i took off a star because i really thought there would be "more to it". that being said my daughter really likes this game. She already knows all of her letters and letter sounds... i bought it more for her little sister who is still learning, but my older daughter(4), hasn't shared it with her yet. it's fun probably because it's so easy! i find it really boring. but i think it will be good for my letter learner who is 2. if your child already knows their letters and letter sounds, there's really nothing more in this cartridge for them. you may want to skip it for something more educational. of course it's good re-enforcement for letters and letter sounds, but it is also expensive!
