Rated 2 out of 5 by from Do Not Reccomend I bought this to replace a Kobo Mini that I absolutely loved and had just started fritzing after 1000's of hours of reading. I purchased this Kobo thinking that it would be an upgrade of the smaller pocket sized version I had been using, and that I would instantly love it. The Kobo itself works, so that's why I gave two stars- my issue is that it is extremely slow in loading pages, and constantly freezes. It is slow to start- freezing on a blank loading page before getting to my home screen. There is a lag between me pressing down on the screen to choose a book, or switch between My Books or My Wishlist. If I do press on a book, it generally doesn't load at all, and the screen will freak out and the entire thing will reset. The most annoying thing about this version is that while it is frozen, anything you've pressed must be followed through once it unfreezes...meaning, if you swiped to the next page a bunch of times or tapped on the screen, it's going to jump ahead a million pages or jump between all your screens. As well, these issues didn't develop over time, but were present from day one of owning the Kobo. They might be considered minor issues, but the freezing and slowness take away from the overall enjoyment of the product. I'm disappointed, as I had none of the same issues with the pocket model. I've kept it simply because I didn't have the opportunity to return it at the time, and that ultimately...I can use it to read multiple books. I keep thinking about buying a new version, or a completely different model...but again, I can read my books so there's nothing really that wrong with it and it's somewhat expensive. Other Things: It holds a charge quite well (I usually run it to 0% once a week- but I'm able to read probably between 7-10hrs/week on a charge. Around 1-1.5 books).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyed it My boyfriend bought this reader for me as a gift, I enjoy it and makes it easy to take places, but i'm not a big fan of how expensive some of the books are. I may as well go buy the actual book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I truly love my Kobo Aura One!! I have had my Aura One for almost two years and I just love it. I have never had any problems with the battery as when it gets low I just plug it in and walk away. I let it charge and then come back and check to see if it is finished. As this is my fourth Kobo I have always put a cover on it because I don't want it to get scratched. I have a cover that puts the book to sleep if I have to stop reading and go and do something and the battery life stays the same. Mine does last as there are times when I don't get to read for quite some time and will come back and the battery has either not moved or not very much. I haven't done the pool test but I will one of these days.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Caution: Doesn't work on 5G wifi I bought the Kobo Aura One yesterday and have just spent 2 hours trying to get it functioning. I finally found out from Kobo that none of their readers work on 5G wifi. This makes it virtually useless for travel as I can't control what type of wifi is available. And Kobo customer service can't give any idea of when they will have new technology available. I will be returning this unit and buying an iPad mini which is almost the same size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid 4.5 After a rough start (the device I bought turned out to be defective, I took it back to Chapters for help, the crew member immedialy knew it was a defective one and replaced it) I really really like this e-reader. I got it specially for the overdrive library borrowing feature and it works like a charm. The battery life is why I held back giving it a full 5 stars. The battery drains faster than I am used too with older version Kobos. But I have to keep reminding myself that this device has a large screen, and it's adapting the lighting constantly, so you have to be a little understanding of the battery woes. It's super light, the screen looks like an actual book and if you have a library card and sign up to borrow ebooks it pays for itself pretty quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! I had the kobo glo before. It broke down and I wanted a new one. I did a bunch of research. Read reviews, watch comparison videos. Let's face it, the kobo aura one is expensive e-reader. I wanted to make the right choice. I believe I have, especially compared to my old glo. Easy points system reference: + positive traits - negative traits The Size & Weight + Amazing. Bigger isn't always better, but here it is. If you prefer hardcover to paperback, then the size will be great for you. Read in large print? Then this would be a must for the size alone, a lot more words per page. + Surprising it is as light or even lighter than my old glo. Your wrist wont suffer through a reading marathon. - Not sure where to hold it, there are sides, but its hard on the hand after awhile. Hoping buying a case will fix that. The Touch Screen & Set up + A slightly different set up, have to touch the bottom over the top to get certain features. Not a big learning curve with the new device. - New to kobo's? There is no manual, well there is, but plug in or connect to wifi to start. Isn't all that helpful. Google is your friend here or you can try your local library. Mine offers kobo classes. - At times the screen isn't as sensitive as my old glo. Happily reading away when the page wouldn't turn as fast. Annoying but hasn't happened a lot. + Books from my old kobo transfer over easily. - Had to mark the lot as already read, and when you have a ton of e-books; that gets old fast. The Light + I thought, why does this light have an orange glow? It's weird. I should figure out how to remove it. (Which you can) I decided to give it a try first. I'm glad I did! It changes automatically to the amount of light you need, in any situation. I found I could read longer on it without it bugging my eyes, the light is much gentler then the glo. Without loosing the right amount of light that you need to see the words. You can test this feature when you walk around your house. I had used it in another room, reading and walking there, of course. The light gently changes without any disturbance to your reading. Manga & Graphic Novel Readers + Your kobo is here! It's the size of most large manga. You feel like your reading right from one! No teeny, tiny words. No blury pictures. No, you can't buy this digital manga because your kobo is too old. It is simply awesome! Overall + I love it and don't regret this purchase. This will last me years to come. It's waterproof too, but I don't have the desire to check this feature. Electronics and bathtubs send chills down my spin and not good mystery reading chills either. - For the price I would have loved a case, even a super simple one. It would have been nice. Maybe next time kobo people? If your looking for a kobo and even pondering over this one. I would get this one, despite the odd quirk here and there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great eReader I absolutely love this e-reader. Bit of a steep price but in my opinion, totally worth it. My kindle doesn't get used as much (sadly) since I got the aura one. Love the bigger screen.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy! Overdrive issue Although the Aura On is a great ereader there are significant issues when using Overdrive and downloading books from the library directly onto the device. I bought mine Fall 2017 and stopped being able to directly borrow books on the ereader within a month. Despite being a "Heather's Picks" Indigo would not help at all. So ignore that recommendation. Kobo did replace the device and then the EXACT SAME PROBLEM happened again within the same timeline with the second device. Library told me they have lots of trouble with Kobos. Not worth the extra $100. Beware

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good But Not Great I love the e-reader (especially the integration with OverDrive) but the battery life is barely better than an iPhone. I also have a Kindle Paperwhite for purchased e-books and the battery life on the Kindle is infinitely superior to this Kobo e-reader. The Aura One is great for reading in the bath and on vacation but make sure you can charge it frequently because the battery will burn out quickly. Considering the price, the battery should be better than it is. I don't recommend purchasing it unless you read a lot of books on OverDrive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a difference! I purchased the Aura One this month and what a difference to my previous Kobo e-readers. My favorite feature is the direct link to the OverDrive library which makes it so much easier and convenient to borrow books from my library. I have also enjoyed the Comfort light which cuts down on the blue light given off by most electronics. I saw the difference with the light right away and it adjusts for your environment. I have not experienced the power drain that others have been describing and actually have not recharged it since my purchase. Really happy with this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favourite Kobo This is the third Kobo I've purchased and it is by far the best one. I use my Kobo mostly for library books so this was obviously the best option for me when I was on the market for a new e-reader. The process of getting the library book on to the Kobo is painless and 100 times easier than my other Kobo's. It is also very light weight, has intelligent lighting and the screen is slightly larger than my other Kobo's as well. Hopefully this will be my final e-reader as it has everything I could ever need.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Brand new came with issues Just took this Kobo out of the box after receiving it this week and have already experienced issues where I had to call Kobo Support. Pros-extremely lightweight, large screen and really like the auto brightness feature that adjusts as the brightness depending on how much light is around you Cons- havent even been able to read a book on it yet- keeps freezing anytime I try to look on the Kobo store and the screen keeps flicking to black for no apparent reason.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Most Prized Possession I love the new Kobo Aura One. I can seamlessly sign out books online from my local library, and then press the sync button on my Kobo, and voila! The book appears on my Kobo. Turning pages is fast, the backlight is handy. The Kobo Aura One holds up to 6,000 books. So far, I have only 93 books on mine, and have read almost 50 books. I read on average a book every 1.5 days. The battery lasts me 3 days at most. That is my only complaint about this model. I wish the battery lasted longer. I have adapted to it by automatically charging it overnight every 3 nights. No problem. I should also mention that buying from the Kobo store is extremely easy as well. I can browse the store's contents right from my Kobo and pay and download the book in a few easy steps. I am happy that I bought the Kobo as opposed to the Kindle, because the Kindle would never allow me to sign out books from my local library for free. As far as I'm concerned, this Kobo has saved me a lot of money. I should also mention that the screen resolution is beautiful. You can tap on any word on the screen and a definition will pop up - very handy. There are also many fonts to choose from, and the font size is easily adjustable. Overall, a GREAT product!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still my favourite.... After nine months, this is still my favourite. I don't take it on travels as it is a big slippery fish I would hate to drop, but at home it is great. (My first gen Aura does travel duties.) The battery lasts for a book or so; long enough for me. Best of all, borrowing books from the library with Overdrive has saved me a ton. (To look through the "available now" selections in the library and get the best out of the Ontario Library Consortium, I use my laptop to borrow, and then sync my Kobo readers. Everything syncs like magic. Impressive.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Has some great features, not sure it's worth the money I bought my Kobo Aura One five days ago, and I have mixed feelings about it. It's remarkably lightweight, easy to read on, has a great screen size, wonderful customization features, and I like that you can directly connect to OneDrive, though I haven't tried out that feature yet. However, the highlighting function is infuriating: the highlight skips around as you try and highlight exactly what you want, and I've take up to two minutes to highlight one section. This should be a two-second process. The keyboard is also infuriatingly slow, too, so leaving yourself notes takes forever. On top if it, the back cover split apart from the rest of the device at the very top (the other three sides are still firmly attached). For $250, I expect much more. I'm going to exchange it and see if I have better luck with a replacement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't think I'd like it... I'm rather old school and didn't like the idea of reading off, essentially, a tablet. However, after getting the kobo, I am realizing how convenient it is. My main complaint is the battery life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it I hummed and hawed about buying this for a year. I was concerned about the battery life plus I already own the previous version with the 6.7" screen. I've had mine for a month and couldn't be happier. This is by far the best model of Kobo and I've pretty much had them all with varying degrees of satisfaction. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the screen. I have Coke-bottle glasses so the extra space does mean fewer page turns and its so much easier on my eyes. It's really light and feels great in your hands when you're reading a long book. A friend of mine who is opposed to eReaders commented that the screen looks like paper. If you buy this, charge over night before you set it up as recommended. I get about two weeks of use on one charge but I keep the wifi and lights on. It's doable for me. Overdrive is just okay. I like that I have the option of checking a book out from the library but I would much prefer to be able to search and reserve books directly from my Kobo like was able to with the Sony eReader (those were good times). I also wish you could share quotes from the book you're reading on social media, something I am able to do with my Kindle. I tried it the other day, and instead of posting the quote, it shared a link to the book on the Kobo store which I thought was kind of tacky. I deleted the post immediately. I would definitely recommend this eReader if you want to avoid pouring money into Amazon like myself. The prices are usually comparable with a few exceptions, but that's what the library is for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is converting me I am the type of person who prefers physical books. There is no argument. After using the Kobo Aura One for a few days, I am starting to convert. The kobo is easy to learn (you will need to watch the online videos to learn all the tips and tricks). This is my first e-reader and so far it has been easy to connect to the internet, you can purchase books right from the kobo reader and this is convenient and easy. You can add promo codes. If you are an avid reader, downloading the kobo app will be helpful to you. When I return and select the book I'm reading, it takes me to the spot I last left it and you can digitally dog-ear the pages. It is easy to access the table of contents and swipe the pages. I love choosing the style of the font, the size, the brightness. It does look good in the dark and you an read it in water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used to think these were not worth the $$$ But I am officially converted! I am a heavy reader and loved the feeling of a "book" in my hands. But after a bed bug scare at the library I got to thinking I would try a reader...I am so happy I did. This kobo is amazing, I don't even miss the book feel. I have had this since christmas 2016 and have read so many books on it - so easy to read in bed without having to turn on the lights! Easy to use overdrive and get free library books - even my kids love it! I am thinking about purchasing another one so we don't have to schedule our reading time :) If you are new to ereaders trust me when I say just try it! and this one is so versatile, I love the big screen, the fact I don't need to be concerned about getting it wet. Also bought the cover - basic but nice and I like the feel and fact it keeps it protected banging around in my bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great reader but terrible battery I bought the Aura One in July 2017 and have enjoyed the new features very much: larger screen, night colour shift and light weight. OVERDRIVE is really nice and very easy to use. The battery is my main complaint. My previous 2 Kobo's (Glo and Aura HD) would last 3 to 4 weeks after being charged. This Kobo will only last 3 to 4 days at most. It only charges up to 63% after being plugged in overnight (tried several wall chargers as well as my laptop). To make the battery last 3 or 4 days I have to power off after reading and not use sleep mode with my sleep cover. I also reduce the power drain by shutting off wifi. The firmware is 4.5.9587. I would definitely not buy another Kobo until they announce a fix for the battery problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Heather Should Not Have Put Her Name On This I've had my new Kobo Aura One for about a month now. It is the first Kobo I've ever purchased (I've had Sony ereaders) and it will absolutely be my last. The battery is garbage. I don't know how else to describe it. I'm lucky to get a few hours of reading time (not exaggerating 3ish hours) before I have to recharge - NOT convenient when I'm away from a power source. I have done all the updates, and I've got the thing on energy lock down and the 7 year old Sony I bought it to replace is still a better battery charge. I'm deeply disappointed, and have major buyers remorse that I spent $249 on it. If anyone knows if there is a replacement battery I can buy, please advise. At this point I might as well put more money into it because it's totally useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the One!! Yes.. I've finally found the One.. I am now an ex-Kindle user.. I love reading all times of the day or night.. I mean it's like reading a book for real.. I can get lost in the story without even noticing that my thumb is turning pages The lighting is perfect even as dusk approaches then darkness envelopes me and I don't notice.. The story continues into the bedtime hours and finally I realize that perhaps it's time to doze off.. I read over breakfast put the Kobo A1 on charge and then start my day knowing that when I'm ready the Kobo will be ready to go. I have no fear of dropping it in the bath or spilling coffee on it or turning on lights.. so reading is all I have to think about.. I love it !! However I have walked into walls or stumbled if the story is really going good but everything can't be perfect.. maybe if Kobo had like radar warning beeps .. :) This Kobo Aura One was delivered July 19th, two days ahead of schedule and I have been using it through 16 books without a problem. Of course I've charged it a few times but it has never interfered with the flow of the story and THAT is what reading is all about.. So yeah.. I've found the ONE!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for! I bought Kobo Aura One in June 2017. Before I used to read on iPhone 6 Plus or iPad with iBooks, which I still love, but my eyes are getting tired quite quick so I decided to get an eReader. I normally do a thorough research before I buy anything serious. For an eReader it took me a week to decide that I want to try Aura One. My requirements were: 1. Flexibility: I already had many eBooks in different formats, so I needed eReader that will allow easy file transfer and not only be tied to an online store and will recognize different file formats. 2. Capacity: Most eReaders are 4Gb, Aura One is 8! I already have about 5000 books on it, more than I will be able to read in my life but it is nice to know that all my books are with me all the time! 3. Screen size: I LOVE Aura One's big screen, together with a very good the front-light technology it gives the closest feeling to the real book. 4. Battery: In comparison with other eReaders Aura One doesn't have a good battery, BUT! If I read a couple of hours a day I only need to charge it once every week, which doesn't bother me at all! So I'm not gonna take a point from the rating for that. The only issue that I'm not entirely happy with but it doesn't affect my love for Aura One is that it is a bit slippery in hands and slightly heavier than for example Kindle or other Kobo models. I ordered on Amazon MoKo Premium Cover Case for 18$ which protects well, gives a good grip, although making it a bit more heavier - but it's still weights like a real hardcover book. On the other hand, I got so many extra bonuses I wasn't looking for: 1. Kobo online book store 2. Overdrive that works fine 3. Ability to customize fonts, text size etc. 4. It has WIFI! 5. Integration with Pocket (so I can read all my saved articles) 6. It has built-in dictionaries, and (with a tweak) you can add your own. It shows books in other languages fine too, as I read in 4 languages I never had an issue! 7. It's working fabulously with Calibre, which even allows me easily transfer books that I buy on Amazon to Kobo Aura One. So, in conclusion, after three months of using it I can say I'm more than happy with it. Even my partner got jealous and got one too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work well with overdrive Overall the ereader hardware seems quite good. The battery life is as expected and it is light weight and the display is crisp. However,if you primarily want to use this with overdrive to read ebooks from your library, you are likely going to be frustrated. I have had several ebooks checked out from my library but won't download (synch) on the device. Looking into this further, it seems that books from overdrive will only download to the device if the kobo store has exactly the same version (ISBN) as the overdrive book checked out. In my experience this mismatch of book ISBN affects quite a few titles so you never know if a title will show up on your device. I regret making this purchase and should have got an android tablet and used the overdrive android app.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The good and the bad This Kobo is a nice size which is great if you are a fast reader and don't want to turn pages constantly. The lighting feature is good too. However, the terrible battery life means that I would have liked to give it a '0' rating. It barely lasts a week, even if the wifi is turned off. I have two other Kobo ereaders, and they have much better battery life (and I never turned off the wifi) therefore it is puzzling that the newest version has such a significant problem. For a device that costs this much, you would think this would not be an issue - if I could get my money back I would.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase, very happy. I've been using my Kobo Aura One for about 2 weeks now, with WiFi on all the time, and I've only had to charge it once. This was my biggest concern in purchasing a new Kobo. I have been using the Kobo Mini for years, hunting up used ones when each one died. It had such fantastic battery life and a simple user interface. This Kobo Aura is the next best thing. It doesn't fit in my pocket, so no more pocket books, but everything else is great. The touch screen is (mostly) responsive. Occasionally it lags a bit before responding. The natural light settings are great! Happy to be able to read late into the night without blue screen worry, or eye strain, or any of the other nasty affects of screens in the dark. Holds a ton of books, no issue. I have over 1100 loaded on right now. The search function is good, with my only issue being that the search does not default to the Kobo device, but to the Kobo website. Now, as long as the device lasts, I will declare it worth every penny.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from nice to read with, brutal to set up and poor battery I bought a Kobo aura one two days ago in order to read library books. I am still trying to set it up, there is very little intuitive about the set up. You need a Kobo account, an Overdrive account and a Adobe account. After two full days I'm now trying to "authorize" my Kobo and the Kobo is not matching the pc instructions, so very frustrating. I am fairly good with technology, I have set up and read on my Kindle, PC, iPad and Android without any problems. So very frustrating to have spent two full days so far trying to set up my Kobo. And I still haven't manage to authorize it so it will sync with my PC. Also, I charged the Kobo when I first bought it and had to charge it again in less than 2 days (they say the battery will last 30 days with normal reading). My Kindle will go two to three weeks when I'm reading, so also very disappointed in the poor battery life of the Kobo. Having the light adjust to the exterior light is nice, but definitely not worth the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Say NO to BOBO Poor customer service when the device stops working **due to software updates**. If the product is more than 1 year old, the warranty is void and KOBO will offer little to remedy the situation. After 3 weeks of countless emails, phone calls, reinstalling software, etc I was finally informed that my device stopped working because it was "no longer supported by software updates". Software updates I was instructed to do by a KOBO agent. I should have been told this earlier, saving myself (12+) hours of frustration and fruitless attempts to 'repair' the issue with my device. IMO, a courtesy email should have been sent to customers informing them that their products would no longer be supported. Following a KOBO agents instructions, I also reset the device only to have *all content* deleted, including the pre-installed classic novels. My KOBO is now completely useless. Not only am I unable to sync books from my library, the pre-installed novels have now been removed as well. After finally speaking to a 'supervisor', I was told the best they could do was offer me a coupon for $20 off, only valid towards 1 specific KOBO device. This coupon was sent to me via email and upon reading the email, I noted that it was towards a REFURBISHED product. A key point the supervisor failed to mention when he made the offer. A discount towards another defective product? No thanks, I already have my own. With so many other ereaders on the market, save your time and money.... avoid KOBO products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic reader for someone who loves to read anywhere I have been a fan of Kobo since the beginning. This is my 5th ereader, with the last 2 being upgrades to a newer version. There was nothing wrong with them, I just wanted the newer features. This new Aura One is the best of all. I had considered upgrading to the Aura H20 v2 but decided that if I'm going to upgrade to a new reader, I might as well go to the larger size. I had the Aura H20 v1 & wanted the ComfortLight PRO as I always read in bed before I go to sleep. As I get older, I find having the larger screen is appreciated. While I don't yet need reading glasses, this is an eventuality & having the larger screen will help me with this. I did worry about the awkwardness of the larger screen but I find it's actually easier to read & less page flipping since there are more words on the page. The ComfortLight PRO is really wonderful. First off, I like that Kobo has made it so the 1% light isn't so bright. On the Auro H20 v1, even at 1%, it was pretty bright & my husband always commented on it when I read after he goes to sleep. Having the orange hue added means it's not as disturbing to him & doesn't wreck my night vision by looking at a bright white light. Of course, the waterproof option is fantastic as well. I love this for reading in the bath. And when I'm near a pool, this is great as well. I was a bit disappointed that there's no expandable memory. But the 8GB storage is great (far better than the original 4 GB). And I love that you don't have to open the cover anymore to charge it. I always had issues with that since I have gel nails. There were initial complaints about the battery life. I found that the battery wasn't lasting even a day when I first got it. But then I realized that I hadn't synced it yet & my version was out of date. After doing that, the battery life is much better. I'm not a huge fan of the new home screen. I like to see my reading stats on the first page. But hopefully, they'll bring back the customization of the front page in future updates. It is easier to navigate in this new home screen. I like the idea of the auto brightness but have turned it off as I don't need the screen lightened during the day time & this also saves on battery life. I know some people turn theirs off but I leave mine in sleep mode & have no issues. After over a week, the battery is at 67%. So I expect that in a couple of weeks I'll need to charge it. Bottom line, this is a great ereader for someone who is older & prefers the larger screen. If you prefer something more compact, the Aura H20 v2 is a better fit. But it still fits in my purse. I have an 8-inch tablet sleeve from Amazon to protect it in my bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Adjust your expectations I love the idea of not carrying many paper books in my bag. I loved the idea of accessing my library's e-books through an e-reader. I especially loved the Kobo Aura One's promise of easy download directly to the e-reader (as opposed to other model's "download on computer" first. All the reviews and comments were so positive, so it was normal for me to expect a fast & intuitive. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. First, the Kobo Aura One is slow (like "need to type one letter at a time" slow), especially when one is used to the simplicity and speed of an iPad or iPhone. Second, in the span of the three months I have owned the Aura One, I have had to call my library or Kobo too too many times because my e-reader didn't properly sync with my library online account, because I couldn't get a book that should be accessible, etc. Every time, nobody really seemed to be able to identify nor resolve the problem. Library folks didn't have the instructions to help. Kobo folks were difficult to get a hold of. In other words, in an era where we expect fast and adaptable technologies and helpful customer service, I do not feel like the Kobo Aura one is worth its $250.00. Stick to books or a cheaper e-reader, or scale up to an IPad (at least then, you could do other things than just read books with the device). Or adjust your expectations. Maybe mine were too high.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best e-reader ever! I know that many people prefer the feel of a real book. But the nearest bookstore is 80 km away and they seem to have more candles than books for sale! My library hours are just about whenever I am at work and it is in the middle of our high school (teenage daughter would be horrified to see me there during the day!) Not to mention that my partner was getting tired of climbing over the walls of books on my side of the bed. So, I have been using e-readers since they first came out. I can buy or borrow just about every book, ever written, anytime I want (as long as the finance minister does not check my purchases!). I had a Sony e-reader, then a Kobo touch. A month ago I bought the Kobo Aura One and it takes a lot for technology to impress me. I love this e-reader. The size; the night light; the adjusting colour as it gets later in the evening; the fact it is water and dust resistant; the weight and feel all combine to make this the best e-reading experience I have ever had. Add in built in Overdrive to borrow e-books from the library and the reasonably priced titles available at the Kobo e-book store and the Aura One is a near perfect piece of connected technology.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good I've had the aura one for about 5 months ,over all I like it a lot. I find the size and weight more reader friendly than my previous Aura (1 st edition ). My biggest complaint is the battery life. I really don't know how the specs can say 1 month? I don't have automatic updates on , I have the reader shut off after 45 minutes and if I read for 1-2 hours a day the battery lasts for 4 days . The keyboard is glitchy. If you don't press the letters in a specific way ,the key next to the one you've pressed is the one it reads . There is no way you could use this for anything other than a quick search.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not nearly what I was expecting. Pros: good size, warm light for bedtime. Cons: the library/Overdrive integration is what I bought this for, and it has a success rate, right now, of about 33%. Sometimes I get the notification from Overdrive, hit sync, and it appears; others, I have to go browse -> overview -> search for the title, click on the arrow on the side that IS NOT necessarily a "buy from Kobo" button but makes it reeeeeal easy to slip to purchase, and find the option to take out from Overdrive. More times than I'd like, downloading through Overdrive is just not an option. Kobo "Help" is no help at all in fixing it; they after a series of infuriating questions, they concluded it "must be a problem with the file format." Epub? Really? So I'm still using my iPad app, thanks to this useless $250 brick that doesn't actually do the thing it was supposed to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I love e-readers and how you can have up to 3,000 books on them. This one is awesome because there is a push power button on the back and has a backlight in it so you can read in the dark. I also like how you can change the font on it. Kobo is a great company who really does put their customers first.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No, I wound't buy it again PLUSES: Lightweight, adaptive lighting, big screen MINUSES: mediocre battery life (much less than promised), primitive annotation tools (to select text is a torture; no synchronization of your highlights with other devices and Kobo website (you can easily do it with Kindle), so don't lose your Kobo or delete an annotated book), borderline-abusive software update tactics (Kobo just introduced a new--radically changed--user interface for their e-readers and pushed it on my device while overriding my "off" for automatic updates and not asking if I even want this update; in my opinion, an extremely bad way to treat your customers, and not to mention that I got Kobo in part because of its previous UI). Overall, despite some really good features, the device falls short of may important expectations. I wouldn't buy kobo e-reader again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wound't buy it again Summary: PLUSES: Great big screen, adaptive lighting, flexible reading settings MINUSES: horrible annotation capabilities, mediocre battery life, pushes software changes (e.g., interface changes) without asking. Ok, normally, I would like to hit Enter here and start a new paragraph, but apparently it's not an option which, to be honest, is of little surprise: Chapters' website is just buggy altogether. Now, to the reader. I guess, I shouldn't be surprised that a book-selling company that can't pull its website together sticks to a reader that is far from perfect either. I have had my Kobo for several months at this point and at first I was very excited about it. It's light, it has a really big screen that makes it on par with a pocketbook format, it boasts well-designed adaptive lighting (that works so far), they promised a month of battery life, and it's interface was highly intuitive. At the first glance, it's simply awesome. The problem is with the things that you don't immediately see. First, its battery life is not as great as promised (two weeks max). Second, its annotation tools are just horrible. To highlight something on the screen is a torture. And then you get to find out that you cannot even sync your annotations across devices or access them online. Yes, your annotations will exist only on that device on which you annotate, so don't lose it. Third, today, I turned on my Kobo to find out that its interface has radically changed ((I have automatic updates off). Yes, these guys pushed an update of the ENTIRE INTERFACE without asking me if I even want it, while overriding my permissions. I really don't, and I bet these guys would not like to wake up one day and discover that their kitchens, say, now come in colour red because the manufacturer decided so. I've seen many different ways gadget developers use to entice us to update device software. So far, these guys are the worst; they just force it on us. Bottom line: despite its some great features, the device falls short of many important expectations. I wound't buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In a word: AMAZING Thank you Kobo for pushing the envelope on book readers. Kobo readers are worth buying for the POCKET integration alone, and this one adds OVERDRIVE integration, the larger screen, automatic backlight and blue light reduction at bedtime. It even has an ipad-like form factor. Everything works good in its kobo quirky way. I can read a 500 page .epub before it needs recharging. Maybe Kobo or an after-market supplier should take a page from the Kindle Oasis and make an auxiliary cover with a built in battery to keep everyone happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buggy device. Do not buy. Kobo Customer Service is terrible. I purchased directly from Kobo but they don't allow reviews, so I am posting here instead. They shipped me a device with a damaged screen and their return process is extremely difficult. Even when the device is working, the software is extremely buggy. Typing my email address on the onscreen keyboard to register my account, I need to wait a few seconds in between each letter because the input is so laggy. There is very bad ghosting every time you switch pages, i.e. you can still see remnants of the text from the previous page on the screen. I never had that issue with my old Kindle. Also, the Pocket integration is buggy. Not all items added to Pocket show up on the device, even after repeated syncs. I'm still waiting on their customer service as I type this. I don't understand why they need to escalate an issue multiple times and I need to wait a week for a response for something simple as a return. At this point, I am just going to return and not exchange it because they appear to have terrible quality control. The comfort lighting is also disappointing. It is much less "amber" than it appears in the images on their website, especially at low brightness. Also the lighting is very uneven and there is a weird "rainbow" effect with the lighting. Very disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best e-reader on the Canadian market! I purchased the Kobo A1 and the case for it about 3 months ago, and i'm loving it - this is my first e-reader, and I purchased it bc I was tired of lugging massive books around on my daily 2 hour commute & mainly because the OverDrive app is installed in this one, therefore borrowing books from my local library is a breeze. WHY I LOVE IT: 1. The battery life is great, contrary to some reviews - it hasn't lasted the 30 days it claims to, but it has lasted me almost 3 weeks reading Monday to Friday 2 hours per day with WIFI disabled. 2. The lighting is fantastic, my eyes never get tired given the constant change between night, day, in subway, on bus, at night in bed. 3. Perfect size, not heavy and really feels like a book. 4. Tons of storage - you can build a massive library. Set up is fairly easy and buyers just need to know that it's not a tablet, therefore it does not work like the speed of a tablet, abd, it's black and white, so the book covers are not in color. The only con is not related to the Kobo A1, but more towards e-books. I wish there were more e-books available in other languages like Portuguese and French.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Battery lasts 2 days I bought this 3 weeks ago. It`s easy to use and I like that you can download books directly from the library through overdrive. The orange glow makes night reading pleasant. The battery lasts two days tops. That is with taking it of wifi. I read a lot, but my Sony reader would last a week or two before having to charge it. I am going to start shutting it down completely instead of using sleep mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every dollar! I bought the Kobo Aura One four months ago now, and I'm still absolutely loving it! I used to use my ipad mini to read, but as much as I found the size perfect, my main concern was the blue light when I read before going to bed, and the glare whenever there was light. The "natural light" option was definitely something that made me gravitate towards the Aura One, as well as the integration of Overdrive. I love that I can remotely borrow books from the library. I haven't had battery issues - I charge e-reader about once every two-three weeks, and I read about 30 minutes a day. I manually change the brightness and natural light settings as opposed to setting it automatically.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love it. BUT!!!!!!!!!!! I finally received my Kobo Aura One after a lot of delay due to poor availability. Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE!!!! I love, love, LOVE the Kobo Aura One. I had always used Sony readers and was a devoted customer. However, I was due for an upgrade, and when I researched I realized that the larger screen face was what I was looking for. I took a chance and it paid off. It arrived by the stated delivery day. It was easy to set up and I was able to start reading right away. Once I figured out Overdrive, that was easy as well. I absolutely love the size and it weighs less than any reader I have had before. It is easy to find what you need and the online user's guide is helpful as well. There can be a short lag time when turning the pages , but that is typical of any reader I have used and it does not distract me in the least. The Aura One has frozen on me a couple of times, but I just shut it down and everything was fine after that. My favorite feature is the light that changes as time passes. You can set it according to when you go to bed and the light becomes very soothing. I have to read before I can sleep and I swear, I have been sleeping like a baby since I got this! I recommend this reader to anyone. I read all of the reviews on many sites so I was prepared for any of the negatives. I have really not had any of those concerns at all. Best value for my money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great reader BUT I love everything about the Aura One except for the poor battery performance- even with WiFi turned off and selective use of the device's light, it seems I am constantly charging the battery. My understanding frm reading previous reviews was that Rakuten was supposed to be addressing this known issue but so far, I see no indication that they have done so. Their utter lack of customer service is the only drawback of Kobo/ Rakuten- since they were taken over by the Japanese parent company, they have absolutely NO North American service!! Despite this, I would still recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good ereader - more ebooks by kobo in Canada would make it better My experience with the e-reader has been good so far. It might not be as fast as a Kindle Oasis, but not to the point that it will bother you or get in between your reading. Personally, I find the screen size optimum. I have a small hand and I am able to read in the metro and bus with no issues plus look for word's definitions, highlight and bookmark. It is also lightweight (considering the size) and the battery is working well. All that said, being in Canada and having a Canadian device would have its pros. But it turns out that to access most of the books I want to read, I need to by them from the USA. Kobo e-books repertory available for Canada is just not worthy. Only for this I would trade the good e-reader experience for a good old kindle unless I am missing something about acquiring e-books elsewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from lot of problems, but tolerable Cons: 1. All touch screen operations on this device are slow. When typing on keyboard, sometimes it mistakenly takes the wrong input (in most cases the key next to its left). Very hard to operate on menus. For example, all the sliding bars for paging, brightness and font size are so hard to operate, almost impossible to slide it to your desired position. 2. No advanced/combo search criteria. Rather, it only supports filtering the result after the search. Possibly it is created this way on purpose in hope to promote KOBO eBooks sale. Pros: 1.Bigger screen. It feels good to see the 400 page eBook on my 6'' inch Kindle reduces to 300 pages. And more words on a row helps me read more fluidly. 2.Borrow library books directly from the device. I think eventually these 2 features beat all the negative points.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Aura ONE...go to Photodon for screen protector Love this device. Yes, the battery life is not very good, more like a tablet than an e-ink reader, but I just love how light and big it is. (Upgraded from the H2O.) The best thing about it, though, is the ease in which I can check out library books! Loved it so much, I gave one to my sister. FYI, the face does scratch easily. I bought screen covers from two different companies that only cover the page, not the black border, so beware. I had Photodon.com create a custom screen protector that covers the entire face of the device. They said they will be listing it on their website for purchase. Fits great and covers the entire face of the ONE, page and border. I love this device!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It could be better Size - like a DVD case; Battery Life - the worst, would last a few days then I have to charge it; Overdrive does not work like if you are on your computer. I can't access to all the books with the TO library. They need a major system upgrade. Not user friendly. There is no search for only TO library which really sucks. No option to refine my search. I type an author's name and it shows me pages of similar to the author's name. That is silly. There is one author I was able to find it on my computer but not on my Kobo. That is silly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't Be Fooled Again... After 10 days of enjoying the Aura One, I awoke in the middle of the night to a flashing blue light emitting from the Kobo. The unit was unresponsive, so I tried turning it on and off, plugging it into the computer, holding the on/off button for several seconds, jumping up and down and almost trying to see how far I could toss it. After checking both the Indigo website and the Kobo website for some insight, I found nada. So... the easy answer would be to return the defective product and exchange it for another.... not so fast..... there are none available online or in any stores..... with an indefinite timeline for availability.... Nice. I am heading to Indigo today with my tale of woe... stay tuned for part two....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Waterproof as advertised Love the reader. Size, text, integration of overdrive and ability to borrow and return books without the need to do anything on your laptop was great. Battery life was also not an issue as others have mentioned so not sure if an update solved this. Bought this right before a trip a 7 day Mexico. Red 2 quick books before leaving so I know I liked the ereader. The ereader started having issues in the evening of day 3 (evening lights started flashing colours and going solid green) and by noon the next day I had to completely turn off the night reading setting as it would just turn on like a disco during the day. Also had to take the brightness off auto. I could read a few pages before the ereader froze and I would have to power cycle. I tried online tips like hard reset; leave powered off 15 minutes & power off and charge 3 hours, but nothing solved the issue. I was not really swimming with the ereader, but did get it more wet then just being near the pool. I was often in the water with my hands and reader on the edge dry part of the pool or walking back and forth in the water while ready as it was a really long pool. I hope I just got a lemon. I plan to return this and purchase another kobo ereader. Love the screen size, but not sure if I want to pay $250 rather than $100 for the larger screen if its not waterproof as advertised. Next time I plan to test this in water I would not have the option to return it as too much time passed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't live up to expectations While reading ebooks on the new Aura one is a pleasure, the other features leave something to be desired. I upgraded to this so that I could connect directly to my public library on the reader, without having to go through my computer to download books and transfer over. However when I tried to set up my account, I learned that not all libraries are currently supported, and so I STILL have to use my computer to get them! The help desk said that they would try to support all libraries in 2017... Um, really? And then the battery life! I could go weeks without needing to charge my previous kobo ereader. This one doesn't last a quarter of the time! If I had known these things, I would have held off purchasing and stuck with my old ereader.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice features but horrible battery life I received this as a gift and initially loved it. Very light, easy to read, lighting is great. I love that it is waterproof and that you can access the library through the e-reader. I'm getting horrible battery life though. I've followed all the suggestions (turn off wifi, charge for at least 4 hours, etc) but still experience the battery draining overnight after very little use. I also think it's ridiculous you have to turn off all of the features that are supposed to be useful in order to have manageable battery life. I contacted Kobo support and all they could tell me was that they would contact me when they have a resolution to the problem. No troubleshooting was done, no timeline to a resolution. I find this incredibly frustrating. I was essentially told there is nothing I can do but live with it until I hear otherwise. I hope they do come up with a solution, otherwise this will be the last Kobo product I purchase. At this point, save yourself some money and go with a cheaper product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Aura One delivers on my expectations! I bought my very first ereader about 6 years ago, and it was a Kobo. After having it for a couple of months, I dropped it and the screen was destroyed. I have stayed away from ereaders since then, and I have used my iPad with the Overdrive app extensively over the years. However, a few months ago I've found it difficult to read for longer periods of time due to the iPad screen making my eyes feel tired. I've looked into the competitor's ereader and was about to purchase it until I found out that Canadians cannot borrow library books via that device. I was beyond thrilled when I discovered that the Aura One had the Overdrive app built into it, and best of all, that it allowed access to Canadian libraries. Since I mostly borrow books, I figured that this was going to be the best ereader for me.. and I am super happy that I gave Kobo another chance! I find the screen to be the perfect size, as it gives the feeling of reading a paperback. I have fairly small hands, and I have no trouble at all reading and turning pages with one hand. The initial set up was very easy and straight forward. I read for a few hours each day, and after a week of having my ereader, I haven't had to charge it yet (with the exception of the initial first time charge). I did turn off auto brightness as I found it to be distracting when the screen would continuously adjust, sometimes every 2 seconds (not sure if this helps with battery performance). I love the fact that the screen turns a shade of yellow depending on the time of day I am reading - my eyes no longer feel tired and I can read for longer periods of time! The responsiveness of the touch screen is pretty good, although sometimes opening books or turning pages take a bit longer compared to when doing it manually on a physical book (but who are we kidding, its an electronic device and they are not all perfect either). Syncing is not a problem at all - no freezing, lagging, etc - my books sync within 30 secs or less. The home screen is great, with all of my books accessible with a touch of my finger. Searching for books is straight forward, and I have no issues with that either. The downside though which I've noticed is not all ebooks are available through Kobo. I was actually surprised about this and I am not sure why this is the case. Borrowing library books via the built in Overdrive is convenient. It's a bit sad that I cannot access my holds list or wish list on the Aura One, but that doesn't bother me much as I have the Overdrive app downloaded on my phone and iPad anyway, so I can browse the lists there instead. My auto-checked out hold books can be downloaded via the Aura One immediately, as long as I am connected to wi-fi (or a hot spot if needed), by tapping "Sync" on the home screen. Returning books is also one tap away, as I am given the option to return the library book immediately after I finish reading it. Seeing my reading stats is pretty interesting as I like to see how far along I am when reading a book, etc. I have not tested the waterproof performance yet as I do not read near or in water, and when I do I use audiobooks instead. Overall I really like the Aura One and I am glad I purchased it. No more carrying heavy books around! I did take off 1 star from my rating due to not having full Overdrive features (access to holds list and wish list), and for a number of books that I realized were not available through Kobo. Other than that, this ereader certainly delivers on my expectations and does what it needs to do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still some kinks but I will keep it! I bought this Kobo Aura One as a gift for my daughter. I thought I would set it up for her. Plus I just wanted to try it myself to see if I needed to buy one for myself. :) I have had a Kobo Glo for a few years now. I love it and I am now addicted to e-readers (something that I thought would never happen). I like being able to press on a word to have the definition pop up; I like being able to increase font size (as my eyes age); and I like being able to access my local library on the Kobo.) The Aura One: Library Access?: Yes, you can access your local library on the Kobo Aura One. However, it only allows you to take out books available now. You cannot access your Holds or Wish List. I find this very frustrating as the whole point of my excitement for this new Kobo was to be able to download my "Hold Library Books" as they were automatically checked out to me while traveling. I was hoping to bypass the whole sync with the computer process/hassle. Especially as I don't usually travel with my computer. So,when traveling, I still can't automatically download my Hold books. Bummer. Next, the lighting: The new 'orange' lighting on the Kobo Aura One is amazing! I love it! The Kobo Glo was always too bright even on the lowest setting. Bathtub time? Bring it on! I was always too chicken to bring my Kobo Glo into the bathtub. Now I will read with abandon! Size? I find the new size a bit big (hardcover book size) but it is still very light. It just doesn't pop into my purse as easily. (By the way, Indigo/Chapters, please allow reviewers to use paragraphs in their reviews. I'm sorry this reads as a long run-on paragraph.) Overall, I will probably keep this Kobo Aura One and buy another for my daughter for Christmas. If Kobo can make access to the Library Holds possible, I will rate this 5 stars! My perfect Kobo would have full library access, be light and 6" max, have the cool orange night lighting, have quicker response time, and still be waterproof. Kobo - can you start working on that? Please!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE MINE I bought mine to be able to take with me when I was back and forth from the hospital and after my surgeries. It is light and the charge lasts a long time. I love it and read as much as I can. It is so easy to use that my daughter uses it too for reading her children's books. If I can't find it I usually know where it is hiding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wife Loves It! I got this for my wife as a gift and as a paper book person, she was a bit leery of using the device, but it has completely won her over. She uses the Kobo 90% of the time now. Lightweight and durable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great e-reader EXCEPT.... Hi, I recently purchased Kobo Aura One and I really like it, except for its poor performance battery-wise. I had to charge it twice in last 6 days. This is nowhere close to the claimed -month one-month battery life as advertised by Kobo. I have turned off the wi-fi synching and auto light adjustment, and the problem still persists. I have contacted Chapters customer service via phone and have been advised to bring the device in-store and i would possibly get a refund/replacement and it's all up to manger's discretion. (Really, Chapters?) The problem is that none of the nearby stores has any inventory, and this means that i will have to wait another 2+ weeks to get a new reader. I have also contacted Kobo and been informed that it is a software issue, and a patch should be issued in next 2 weeks... But that's exactly what they have been telling people last month, and from quick google search, the previous software update did not fix the issue.... So how can i be sure that the next update will fix the battery issue. All this to say, I will wait a few more days to see if the battery re-calibrates itself, but otherwise I am planning on returning this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kobo Aura One Review I purchased my Kobo Aura two years ago and have enjoyed it a lot. I saw that the Kobo Aura one had come out and decided that I would upgrade and sell my old one. I bought the new one at Indigo on September 8th. I wanted a cover, but none are available. I plugged it in to charge and removed the wire when it showed that it had completed. My entire collection is made up of my own ePubs and PDF files. I used Adobe Digital Editions to put them on my Aura and they were all in the program still. I thought that I could just move them all into the new Aura one and it would retain my list of completed books, books in progress and where I was in them. Well, it didn't, so I had to open up the old Kobo and write all that info on a paper. After I moved all the books over to the new reader, I arranged them all to reflect that info. I actually used another program called Calibre to do all that. Now I was ready to read. I settled down in bed and read. I enjoyed how the auto light function worked, although it is slow to react. I completed it and then put it down. In the morning I saw that almost every last bit of power was gone. I figured that maybe I had not fully charged it so I redid it, and had the same experience the next night. Holy cow, how do I dump this crap, I thought. Then I read the instructions about charging for FOUR HOURS, even if it shows it is full. I did that, and now super duper, I am mostly down 2% a night. Lots of juice to go. So I am happy again, Like the lightness without the cover, but still want to get it to protect from scratches, etc. I have not as yet tried to chuck it into a pool, but intend to try that in front of the horrified grandchildren, pretending I slipped. Anyway, I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the night light I bought this as a present. I powered it up, loaded it up, and compared it to my Kindle Voyage before giving it to a sibling. It is a very nice size, like a trade paperback or hardcover, which is great for someone who prefers larger printed books. Kobo ereaders have more variations available for changing margin/line spacing/font sizes than Kindle. The best part I think is the Comfort Light. It's a yellow/reddish light for night time reading that doesn't keep your brain super awake. I put it next to my Kindle Voyage in a dark room while trying to put my kids to sleep, and the Voyage was jarring and hurt my eyes in comparison to the soothing warm colour of the Kobo Aura One. The Comfort light was really fantastic in the dark. I was able to side-load lots of free classic pubs for my sibling and there was plenty of memory leftover for more books. Unfortunately, Calibre software couldn't make collections on this reader because it is so new (it was released about a week ago), but once the Calibre software gets updated for Kobo Aura One, I'm sure it will be okay. Overdrive is right on the device, so my sibling can borrow ebooks directly from the library. It feels comfortable to hold with one hand, and wasn't noticeably heavy or anything. It's supposed to be water-resistent/water-proof, but I didn't test that. If I could, I'd rather buy the Kobo Aura One rather than the Kindle Voyage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice - with a few kinks I have experienced a lot of e-readers between me and my family: Kindle 1st gen, Kindle Voyage, Kindle Paperwhite, Kobo Glo, and now the Kobo Aura One. I really enjoyed the Kindles and my family continues to read with them. However, living in Canada, I was frustrated with not being able to access the library, so I switched to Kobo. I really didn't like my 1st gen Glo very much - it was smaller than the Kindles, it would randomly crash, it would take several taps to turn the page, the margins it left were huge (and wouldn't adjust in settings) and the Glo part was WAY too bright. So I was very excited when the new Aura One came out. It is big - basically the same size as an Ipad Mini. But it is light. My old Kobo Glo is 184 grams and this weighs in at 233 grams. Not bad! I am photosensitive and light that is too bright burns my eyes. I can only view my computer screen and iphone on the absolute lowest setting. The Glo was really bright and I just ended up turning the light off. The Aura One is very similar to the Kindle Voyage - it is very easy on the eyes. In fact, it actually goes a bit darker than the Voyage. Love it! And it's very handy connecting directly to the library and signing the books out on the device, rather than having to go through the oh-so-awkward Adobe Digital Editions. A few little kinks that I have noticed: when I sign on to Overdrive on my computer, I sign in with my library card. Signing into Overdrive with my kobo, I wasn't given that option; instead it asked for a password (which I had never set up). So I had to go onto my computer and set it up. It was a pain. Then when the Kobo is connecting to Overdrive, the screen flashes crazily. If you weren't photosensitive, it wouldn't be bad, but it kills my eyes. And finally, I can't figure out how to access my overdrive holds via the Aura One. But overall I like it - nice to have the bigger screen as I am a fast reader and found myself constantly flipping on the much smaller Glo. The screen is very crisp and I am looking forward to reading it in the bath without worrying about dropping it. A few little bugs, but these would be easily fixed in a software update. Go Kobo!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Kobo Yet! I've only been using it a couple of days, but I love it. The auto light technology gives evening reading an orange glow that's easy on the eyes and although you can adjust it to your preference, the sensors do all of the work for you. I love the size (think trade paperback) and it's lighter and thinner than the Kobo Aura H2O. It's speed and responsiveness are a plus as well, but best of all is the direct access to Overdrive and that you can choose to either buy or borrow any book from the Kobo Library that's also available from the public library. Well done Kobo! (I just wish the SleepCover I ordered with it had shipped at the same time)
