Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Much Going on to Focus On This is a movie I gad been anticipating for a long time. Matt Damon is one of my favourite actors out there, and he is working with an outstanding cast. The help the cast the movie also has a great director in Steven Soderbergh going for it. Unfortunately I feel the thing I thought would be it's strength, ended up being its weakness. The cast is great in this movie. Laurence Fishburne, Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and John Hawkes are all great in this movie, like i suspected they would be. The problem is, there are too many of them. Each one of these characters has there own storyline in the movie, so even though all the story lines are interesting, well except one, its hard to enjoy whats going on, because the movie never focuses on one too long. The one I am referring to that I didn't like was Marion Cotillard's, as I felt when the movie was over, it was left unresolved, and a little silly. Steven Soderbergh has handled big cast before (I.E. Ocean's Eleven) and has done movies with multiple story lines (I.E. Traffic) but in this movie, I feel he had a hard time doing both. Overall, if you are a fan of any of the actors involved you might want to check it out, but the much does not find one focus, which ultimately makes it hard for the viewer to get invested in the movie.
