Description

Based on Ernest Hemingway's 1939 novel, "For Whom the Bell Tolls," this adaptation sensitively explores the tragic and passionate relationship between Robert Jordan and Maria, a Spanish orphan, during the Spanish Civil War. Their love is intensified as Robert, an American munitions expert, risks his life to help a band of Loyalist guerrillas destroy an enemy bridge.
