Add 30ml of water to soil initially, and an additional 30ml every few days to keep moist. As with any plant, be sure not to over-water. Keep in a sunlit area and your Ecocube should start sprouting within 2 weeks.

Keep your home fresh in flowers with this stylish eco-friendly wood planter! Already filled with seed and fertilizer, simply add water and there you have it, wild sunflowers! For greener living all-year-round, when the plant for the cube becomes too large, you can set the complete Ecocube in a pot with soil and the wooden cube will compost and act as fertilizer for the plant.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from a month and still waiting I bought the lavender eco cube. I thought it was a wonderful idea to have a small plant as opposed to scented candles. I may have over watered slightly at the beginning. I gave it 30 ml of water the first day, then every other day I watered again. I would have gone longer with less water. I'm still hoping something sprouts. It's been almost a month. I would try it again, but the instructions are pretty useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They All Grew!! Some colleagues and I bought one of each of these ECO Cubes to grown in our office. Every single one has grown! Some took longer then what was stated on the instructions, but they have all grown. Basil has grown the fastest sprout after only 4 days. Lavender took almost two weeks longer to sprout then the instructions stated. Some are slow to grow, others shot up like weeds. With some patients and persistence we were able to get everything to grow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 3 WEEKS IN AND NO IMPROVEMENTS i bought this 3 weeks ago and so far there was no growth, although i am hoping that something will sprout. For now i'll give it 3 stars as it takes time and lots of patience to wait for something to grow,

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Novelty gift indeed Thought this would be a cute gift for my mom, and we followed the directions to a T - it's been 30 days now and nothing has changed since we first opened the packaging. Disappointing waste of $10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, Poor Instructions I got mint and lavender ecocubes as a gift and both have now sprouted. Common sense suggested to me that perhaps 2 tablespoons of water wasn't enough for 16 days of seed development. 10 days after the first dose of water I gave each cube another 15-20 mls of water. A week later I gave another small bit of water. They don't need watering like a plant but I would guess that a lot of people have problems with this product because the instructions just tell you to water once with 30mls and then wait and this simply isn't enough especially if kept in bright sun. Maybe I was lucky and there really are a bunch of seedless ecocubes being sold but I doubt it. Happy growing don't give up :) It took just under 5 weeks for both to sprout.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lavender Didn't Grow I got the eco cube for christmas and started it in May. I read online that eco cubes last up to 2 years if kept in a dry place, so I don't believe its the amount of time I've waited that has affected the growth of the seed. I've followed all the instructions and I still don't see anything. Pretty disappointed :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't germinate Been at it three weeks now, following the instructions. Don't waste your money, get your own seeds and pot them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of money I bought the ecocube Lavender about two months ago. I followed the instruction but nothing ever grew. It is a total waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed! I purchased the lavender over a month ago after having great success with the forget-me-not but unfortunately, the lavender never grew. Very disappointed. Apparently a few other people I spoke to had the same result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed I read the reviews and was worried that my Basil would not grow. But I took a chance. So this is a mid point review. I followed the instructions and within about a couple of days I see some greenery :) Nothing big yet.. but I got 3 sprouts.. So far I am happy with it... :) I will write another review in a couple of weeks...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mine grew! Followed the instructions and now have a fresh green basil plant. It took a little longer than the instructions said but patience paid off. Love the fact that it's eco friendly and that the cube becomes fertilizer when planted. Would definitely try out another one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is a horrible product I followed the instructions, and my plant died. It did not flower, all I got was two sprouts. I thought planting it in a pot would help, but it did not. The plant died, and I feel like this was a complete waste of time and money!!! Don't buy these blocks!!!! :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My rose never grew Was given this as a gift for Christmas ...followed the instructions faithfully and to this day no Rose I finally gave up on it today and threw it in the garbage .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, it works! I received the ecocube basil and mint as holiday gifts. Was initially skeptical given some of the negative reviews, but a couple of days ago, the first leaves from both plant cubes began to sprout, and around the time the directions said they would! I definitely agree with the overwatering comment - the instructions say "water frequently" but I was watering <30 ml only every other day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far, So Good! Bought the Daisy Ecocube for my friend for Christmas, and it sprouted as promised, she's so happy with it! I bought the Lavendar one for myself, just watered it for the first time today, now to wait and see how it goes!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very unhappy I purchased 4 eco cubes- Lavandar, Christmas tree, Forget me not, and sunflower. NONE grew

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure when I'll see the daisy It's been 8 months (I started in March) and the leaves keep growing but no flower. The leaves do grow pretty fast though. Only water a little bit every other day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expensive garbage! Bought this, followed the instructions perfectly, watered when needed, kept the plastic on, placed in sunny, warm window, etc. After 2 months, nothing. Not even one sprout. I poured the dirt out and didn't find anything happening, couldn't even find a seed. I planted lavender in my garden outside this spring, and am VERY familiar with lavender seeds, there wasn't a single one found in the dirt of my Ecocube. I am disappointed that I spend ten bucks on some new garbage for my garbage can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I tested it out After reading all the bad reviews I thought my purchase was gonna be a dud. But after 2 weeks there is now 16 sprouts. I kept it in a place it would get lots of sun and watered it when needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Followed directions. Started in the spring with good levels of sun and warmth. Nothing up after two weeks. After two months got exactly one tiny sprout. After extremely attentive care for 4 months, I have exactly one sprout of lavendar less than two inches high. The wood cube has also split. Would suggest Chapters/Indigo should not be carrying this with all of the similar poor reviews.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed My son bought this for me on Mother's Day. I followed the initial instructions and a month later there is still nothing. The soil has a weird moldy smell ever since I opened the box. I'm ready to throw it away but my son keeps taking a peek at it hoping to see something every time he visits. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Euuh... it grew mushrooms instead... I got the lavender ecocube as a gift about a month ago. I was super happy to try it out and I did EXACLY what the instructions said... but it's been a month with no sprouts and now a little mushroom started to grow in it (probably because of the humidity and warmth). This sucks and it's kinda gross... Super disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good Although the comments mostly say it sucks, it woks pretty well. As long as you water it ever few days 20-30ml it grows pretty quickly. Just make sure it's in a well lit area, cause the first time I tried to grow it, it wilted because the area I placed the plant. It took 2ish weeks and I have over 5 sprouts :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total Garbage I can't believe that Chapters is still selling these when clearly they only grow for half the people who buy them. I followed the instructions perfectly and absolutely nothing grew. What a waste of money. This is the last time I buy anything other than a book from Chapters.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ended up in the garbage i was very excited by this cube, I thought I could put it in my kitchen window and have basil all summer long, did not happen. Followed the instructions and after a week I began to notice tiny green buds but they soon disappeared and that was it. I tried watering it, not watering it and the plant never grew. I would have returned it but I did not keep the bill, so I just threw it out. Besides the inital watering instructions, it never told you how much to water after that. Very disappointing

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expected More I bought two of the Lavender and one of the Wildrose ecocubes mid-March. I was hoping these would work out. The Wildrose did spectacular and is now maybe 7 cm tall, it's been growing marvelously but the lavender not so much. I bought one and waited 2 weeks, when it said it should start growing, it didn't so I thought oh it must just be a late bloomer, 2 months later and still nothing. After the first month I thought that maybe I had gotten a faulty product, so I went with high hopes and got another one, but unfortunately to no avail neither of them have grown even a bit. I don't understand why the Lavender didn't work out and am extremely disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's a GAMBLE Bought the Rose ecocube mid January 2015. I had been thinking about purchasing the cube for a few months since I love flowers, but there had been several reviews saying not to buy the ecocube because of one major flaw in most of them. THEY DON'T COME WITH SEEDS. Some of my friends had other types of the cubes and I thought that the flowers would liven up my room at university, so I took a shot and bought the cube. Nothing grew. Ever. I checked and there are no seeds! It's just a fancy engraved wooden pot and some weird dirt. I bought a 1$ Sunflower thing at my local dollar store that just had it in a mini disposable cup, and it's so much better than this! At least it actually has seeds and it didn't cost me so much money only to be extremely disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be Patient! I bought my lavender cube about a month ago, and after seeing no progress during this time, I was just about ready to throw it out. Today, however, I noticed two little plants pushing out of the soil! So to all people having trouble with their plants, be patient - you might just have a late bloomer! :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of $10.00 I bought this and followed the instructions. My 9 year old daughter and I waited patiently for weeks on end and nothing happened. After a month or so I decided to get rid of it. Before I threw it out I dug through all of the soil to see if there were any visible seeds. There was nothing resembling a seed in the soil. A complete waste of $10.00.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hit and Miss I bought two Ecocubes, one Wild Rose and one Lavender. The Wild Rose started growing almost immediately, well before the 18-25 days advised. However, like a lot of other people, I am experiencing problems with my Lavender. It's been roughly one month and I don't see anything green from that cube...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Money I wish I had read these reviews before buying these items. I bought two of them and followed the instructions to the letter. It's been six weeks and the plants still haven't germinated. Worse still, I paid $10 each and I feel like I set fire on my money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of money I bought this plant 3 months ago and followed the instructions perfectly. I even wrote on my calendar what days to water it and nothing. Skip it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was a waste of money I received as a gift. Followed the only watering instruction there was printed under the care instructions and nothing happened. I had to look up the care for lavender on the internet. The only instruction is the initial watering instruction, other than that the instructions indicate "water carefully". What does that mean? Very unhappy :( However, I think the idea of the Ecocube is cool, just too bad it doesn't work - maybe you need a green thumb?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved it! Within 2 days of watering it and plently of sunlight, we could already see it starting to grow. within 3 days we had 6 different little green growth. Me and my daughter loved to see how fast they were growing! I wated it every 2 days instead of 2. Unfortuately my husband dropped it before we could see a full daisy grow. I am planning on getting a second one and starting over! It's a really sweet thing to do with your young children since it's not messy at all and who it's so exciting to watch something grow. I recommend this to everyone, especially if you live in the city and do not have space of outdoor plants.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of money Don't buy it its a total waste of money. I have had this for two months now nothing ever grew in it. My mom bought the same kind of thing from a local dollar store for $2.50 and they are growing fabulously. We watered all of the equally it was in a bright sunny place nothing. really regret buying this don't think I am ever going to get any other planters or plant products from this company or from chapters ever again.
