about

It's very busy in the Parisian Restaurant. As a scooter zips by, inside the waiter rushes between the tables as the nervous young man gets ready to propose with the ring! It's just as hectic behind the scenes, with the chef busily preparing the food. This beautifully detailed building is the setting for so many stories and is a great addition to the modular building series. The Parisian Restaurant has a fully-stocked, blue and white tiled kitchen with tableware as well as a cozy apartment with pull-down bed, kitchenette and fireplace. On the top floor is the artist's room with a studio that includes a cast iron heater, easel, paintbrush and two works of art by the aspiring artist. Outside, stairs lead down to the roof terrace lined with hanging lanterns and flowers where the diners eat alfresco-style. This amazing Parisian Restaurant model even includes a facade with croissants, clams and feather details that recapture the feel of Paris. Includes 5 minifigures: chef, waiter, girl and a romantic couple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice build. Lots of intricate details on both the exterior design and the interior design. This set is probably going to retire soon. Better buy it now than regret it later!.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More beautiful than any buildings in real life. The decoration is unbelievable. This is my second lego creator expert set after the corner garage. Am amazed that this set is still around after five years. The green and dark blue match perfectly. The back is very detailed with the bins and the drainpipe being very pretty together with the overhang of the back door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality LEGO set! Very good architecture and design makes you wonder how they come up with this. This was the third edition to my Modular Buildings collection and it definitely rivals my Brick Bank and Detective's Office. This was a challenging but fun build for me. although some may argue that it is expensive, I say that it is a good value set for so many pieces. My only complaint would be the stairs, when you hook the building next to others, there's this empty space that slightly undermines the French Architecture. But overall is a quality LEGO set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it Cost a lot of time to build, but definitely worth the money. The only thing that make me feel a bit unsatisified is that there are two bricks missing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous building This is only my second modular building and the difference from my usual Technic is a pleasant surprise. The architectural features that have been created from ordinary Lego components is amazing, the result being a tremendous looking building, with a wealth of interest. While the build was easy, it was still very enjoyable, with the overall structure unfolding as the build progressed. As the top floor is an artists studio it would have been nice to have an artist mini figure and more mini figures in general would always be welcome, but none the less a great model for play and display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now I Am An Expert This was my first time trying out the Creator Expert line of Legos. I have previously built a few of the Lego Architecture sets and a couple of little Lego Friends sets as well. This was my first time jumping into a Lego set that was over 1000 pieces (this set is around 2500). The largest piece I had done previously was a Lego Architecture set that was like 700 or 800 pieces. I was definitely intimidated when I saw that this thing came with 3 instruction booklets. It took me 10 hours total to build this thing over the course of 2 days. It is definitely an all day and night type of project and not just an activity for 1 evening. The instructions could have been a little bit better. At times, it was unclear to me exactly where I should place things. Also, a lot of the colors, like the darker blue, can be hard to distinguish in the instruction manual, so it was hard sometimes to see exactly which pieces I needed to use. The finished product is lovely to look at. Overall, I am glad that I completed this and I will definitely be buying more of the Creator Expert sets in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A LEGO Marriage Proposal While not my favorite LEGO Creator Set the Parisian Restaurant building has grown on me with its charm. The build itself is pretty straight forward and there really isn't anything that challenging. The only knocks I really have against it is that it seems narrower than the other builds that I have done. I also don't really care too much for the green color of the building that much. I do like the setup of the restaurant itself and having the LEGO minifigures propose adds a nice touch to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome design This was the first Lego that I bought as an adult and I did not imagine it could be so much fun to build and play with. What attracted me to this set was the detail of the building. It looked like a historical building that you would see if you were travelling in Europe. It has lots of decorative details both inside and outside. The attention to detail, from the knifes in the kitchen, to the cheese in the fridge and plates for the food, made this set fun to play with. I love the fold up bed in the apartment and the fireplace in it. Basically, Lego made this a very believable setting for a Lego person to live in and visit. The problem for me is in how to find and sort the pieces. I don't understand the logic behind the way the bags are divided. Even though the bags are numbered, but I found that I end up opening all "#1" bags within the first few steps. I ended up with so many pieces to look through trying to find the right one. It was so time consuming and frustrating. So, it would make more sense to me if Lego was to sort the pieces in a way that I would only open 1 bag at a time. It would save me so much time trying to find the right piece. The other problem was the coloring of the instruction book. I noticed that the color does not match the actual brick at times and it was confusing trying to figure out what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastically detailed - My first modular. Brought my first modular building from Lego last week and all I can see is that is so well designed, impressive amount of detail both inside and out. Once built its also very sturdy, attention to detail is great. I want to buy more buildings when I can afford it, but all I can say to folks who have not brought this one yet is to go out and buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like a postcard from Paris I think this is the most beautiful expert modular in the series. The foliage, brick work, chimney's, and roof make it a very unique piece. A must have for any Lego fan. And a kitchen any Chef would be proud of!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First building attempt After 2 vehicles this was my first building and it was a real treat in every way. It was time consuming and I enjoyed every minute. I got quite mentally involved with the different rooms etc. and there was not much repetition. I love the end result. Prefer buildings to vehicles on the whole but will try more of both.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chez albert I bought this for my daughter for Christmas 2018. And we absolutely loved it .... Apart from the fact the restaurant looks magnificent once finished it has lots of touches that my daughter thoroughly enjoyed. With 3 levels it incorporates a restaurant kitchen flat and art studio. It has lots of lovely finishing touches and we found each level more captivating than the last. A must buy for any little girl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very beautiful, extremely detailed one of the best sets i own, the instructions are extremely clear considering how complex this looks at face value. was only slightly troubling with 1x1 pieces but its nothing difficult. overall i would recommend this to any avid lego fan, its fun to play with because of the immense detail and features

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An unrivaled experience This was my first ever modular build and the primary experience responsible for turning me into a big Lego fan at the age of 30. Although my build experience was some time ago I felt compelled to review because the experience has stuck with me. The finished product, with its textures and colors, is truly wonderful to look at daily. I have built a lot of sets since this experience, and this is still hands down the most fun I have ever had with Lego. Highly recommend this for anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 star Parisian Restaurant This is my 4th expert modular, and it was fantastic. Right from the beginning the color scheme that is used is great. The first floor has several different builds, the outside patio looks perfect (with a nice little easter egg). The kitchen is small, but plenty of detail, and the dining area inside is solid. The curtains and wine shelf bring it altogether. Moving upstairs is a nice outside eating area, and inside is an apartment. The fold out bed was a neat little build, and makes it feel like a true apartment. The third floor is a wonderful little art studio. The artists easel looks great, small and simple. The roof might be my favorite, with the deep blue, and clamshell white details tying it together. Overall this is a wonderful addition to the expert modulars, and will also make a great starting point to the first timer. Go buy this set!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best modulars This was such a fun build with so many little details. This modular is my second favorite to date right behind the new Assembly Square set. You don't realize just how many little details are in this set until you start building it. They got this set perfect from the outside to the inside where a lot of the smaller details are. The build itself was so much fun and not to challenging for experienced builders. When I started building it was so much fun that I couldn't stop until it was done because I wanted to see how it looked and how everything worked. The lego design team blows me away with all the effort they put into creating these awesome builds. I highly recommend this set before it retires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing set for display and playability! I just recently built this set, and I am already in love with it! It has so many details, it is an amazing display set and it has great playability! Even my brother expressed curiosity about this set and he’s not into Lego! All floors are incredible, with so many amazing details and functions! This set made me want another modular building! I’m probably going to get Downtown Diner for Christmas! 10/10

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a gem! This little building was just the cutest thing ever. The build was rather easy-going, took me 3 evenings to do it. Lots of tiny details in the building. Favourite part was the detail in the roof of the building which used feather quills. The seashell deco was just so quaint and love the little white croissants. Looking forward to building another modular building.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable fun! This restaurant was a fun build. The amount of details they put into this thing was great. I would give it a 4.5 stars but I can't. The only drawback was the building itself used half the baseplate. I would've liked to be able to utilize the kitchen a little more by being able to put the green trashcan into it but there was no space. There was enough space on the baseplate to extend out the eating/kitchen area a little. Overall very enjoyable and I am glad that I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Set!! This is by far my favorite modular build yet. I’ve built the Palace Cinema, Pet Shop, and Detective’s office. But this takes the cake. There are so many wonderful details. The set comes alive so quickly. The mini figures for it work so well! The kitchen is filled with things to do and cook. The tables and outside area are to die for. Studio apartment above the restaurant is adorable and fun to look into. I do wish it extended out a tad more to make more space for the person in there, but it’s okay! This is definitely the set any creator fan needs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very detailed I love this set. It’s very detailed in every step. Details you don’t expect. I won’t say what for I don’t want to add spoilers. It’s worth the money. I noticed one said that there’s many small pieces and in a negative way but to me small pieces are what gives the details. How else can you achieve that without small pieces. The LEGO characters are fine. The outfits are great but they all have the basic smile face. That’s the only thing that could of made it perfect is if the characters had facial expressions. Still I recommend this set. Hope you enjoy it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Creator Expert This was my first Creator Expert build but hopefully not my last. I enjoyed the challenges and techniques I was unfamiliar with. Much more enjoyable than vehicles, spaceships and helicopters. I predict my mini-figures will be lining up to dine here.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Parisian I had a love/hate relationship with this build. I found some of the illustrations a little vague so had some trouble there. Once those hurdles were over, it was a very relaxing to complete. This is the first Creator Expert set I've purchased & built. I think it's now my favorite series & look forward to building more. I was attracted to the look of he restaurant. I thought it was a charming restaurant. As I was building it, I was imagining I was sitting on the patio sipping a glass of wine & watching life go by. I loved the attention to detail. From the dining room to kitchen, second floor apartment to the third floor studio. My favorites have to be the kitchen & fireplaces. The ornamental work on the third floor really makes a statement. It also was very easy to assemble, which I was happy about. I added extra flowers to the flower pots & greenery on the canopy. I also added a small flower basket at the top of the stairs on the second floor, I felt the back was pretty bare so I put a shrub between the windows. I thought the dishwasher would like to look at a little greenery! Now... which set to get next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool This was our first modular build. It was very fun and challenging at the time. The detail on the back of the building was a delightful surprise. I hope Lego uses more hide-a-beds like this one in their sets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting Modular So after a year and a half break I took from LEGO, yesterday I built my forth Modular set and here are my thoughts about it: Pros: My other three modular buildings are: The Grand Emporium, The Pet Shop and The Palace Cinema. I tend to buy them just before they retire. In comparison to them, The Parisian Restaurant has a lot of detail both from externally and internally. The first floor consisting the restaurant has a very detailed kitchen and a layout of two tables and another two tables outside of the building (I love the fact The tiles outside the restaurant has the text "CHEZ", the name of the restaurant). The second floor has a detailed apartment, and an extension to the restaurant featuring another two tables, making it six in total. And the roof houses a studio. In comparison to my other three sets, the details at the back of the structure is the most detailed. The set delivers printed pieces rather than stickers which is amazing too. The piece count is also very high. Cons: 1. The building is not tall as the Palace Cinema or the Grand Emporium. I feel a few more inches, be it by adding another floor or making one of the floors higher, could had significantly add to the final result. 2. Whilst I struggle to find issues with the first floor, the second floor have three issues: - If you open the bed, you cannot fully open and close the door leads to the front balcony. - I feel the back doors, connect the apartment with the other floors could had been designed more luxury. I found it a bit disturbing that the door leads to the garbage area at the ground floor and these two doors are the same. - A cover to the floor wouldn't hurt. 3. There are not enough mini figures to fill all the areas of the building. The verdict: If you buy the set for play-ability, it is one of the best among them. If you primarily use it for display (Like myself), perhaps this is not the most impressive of them all. It is beautiful to look at, but its length is not the most impressive. None the less, I would not skip it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprise in the details. Yes, this is one of the first lego sets I put together, so I was surprised about the level fo detail that goes into the design, how everything is built from generic, multipurpise bricks is amazing. Also, this set allows for fun playtime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I really enjoyed continuing on to the Parisian Restaurant. It is a really fun build and dynamic in the sense that not only is there a sidewalk scene, but also an intimate setting, an outside social area, plus the apartment and studio make for complimentary scenes as well. Another fun build!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Down to the last detail! This kit was such a treat - my favourite of the Creator Expert sets so far. There isn't any detail too small, or overlooked. LEGO please another one as detailed as this with more pieces! Star Wars gets 7000 pieces!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Parisian Paradise! The Parisian Restaurant is an amazing set in every way! From the simply gorgeous façade details to the interesting, unique building techniques, it's a world of its own that has a delightful European vibe. The build is great, and the end result is just lovely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I am absolutely amazed by the quality of this lego set. I love how everything is detachable and that you can take everything apart and see inside it. The detail for this set is spectacular, it has everything from a brick and mortar chimney to pots and pans inside the kitchen drawers. The hardest part for me though was the roof because it had so many finnicky pieces and many would snap off with the lightest touch. Other lego sets are kind of lacking detail so I didn't expect the level of detail put into it. I also like how their are no sheets of stickers and I have to put no stickers onto pieces. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone seeking a challenging lego set. P.S. 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging but fun! This is my third Creator Expert build. It was the most challenging for me, however, if not challenging it would take the fun out of it. I had to redo the chimney several times as I misread the instructions. When I went to attach the apartment to the restaurant it did not fit and it was because I had one piece in incorrectly. I learned the value of slowing down and paying attention to the pictures. Once again I was amazed by all the details that this build has on all three levels. The artist room was my favorite as it came together in an amazing way. I did make one very small change. At the top of the front of the artist studio there is a round piece that seemed incomplete. I added a round yellow piece for a lamp and instead of having the round being upward, I turned it downward so it would appear that it was an overhead light that beams down on the outside of the restaurant. I watched the Creator Expert video before and during the build which made it come to life for me! Thank you Creator for these wonderful videos! As I am doing these builds to keep my mind active as I am fast approaching my Medicare birthday I must say this one did just that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from C’est bon! I was reluctant to purchase this set as I found myself wondering how could they possibly have anything of interest above a Parisian Restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The amount of detail and thought that went into this set is uncanny. The restaurant itself has an incredible amount of detail, right down to milk and cheese in the fridge, and a romantic couple in the middle of a marriage proposal. The flat upstairs is complete with a Murphy bed and fireplace. A cozy little place for the owner/operator to live. The rooftop loft contains an artists’ studio, including a kiln. Overall, an incredibly personalized set; I can almost imagine the individual who would own this restaurant and live upstairs from it. I love it. (Ignore the police officer mini fig, this is from another set I own (I stage my city a little differently)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beautiful building After a 30 year hiatus from LEGO building, my intrigue was piqued by the modular buildings after seeing them at a LEGO show. I can’t believe the detail in the design -distressed brick work of the chimney, the scalloped details and roof texture, hanging baskets from Parisian lampposts and a Murphy bed in the apartment. The restaurant kitchen was fantastic to build, the detailed countertops with stacks of plates, a hob and oven with dials, a rolling pin and utensils, well stocked refrigerator. My love of LEGO has been reignited and I’m addicted to these modular buildings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1st set in a long time. Boy, it must have been at least 20 years since the last time I bought myself a Lego set. I had forgotten the fun you can have with a quality set. This is a prime exemple. There were a couple of time when I was wondering some brick placement but everything became clear a couple of steps later. Overall, a great set that allowed me to pass a great grey and cold weekend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice enough to standalone Lots of reviews here already so pros and cons only Pros Value for money. Lots of small parts but the detail is superb So many different pieces and building styles Looks even better in person 4 different places to relax for a bite to eat in 1 model! The fold down bed The roof section with the art studio Cons Baseplate was a bit warped for my second modular in a row :-( The hanging baskets are a great detail but flimsy and easy to knock off The kitchen is great but so so hard for fat fingers to get into the fridge or presses Too few minifigures. I feel there should be more so you can play simultaneous scenes Overall fabulous Modular. Keep em coming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the details Had so much fun building this, and compared to ferris wheel (my first set) this is far more challenging, there are a lot of tiny pieces and requires attention when put together. I love that and proceeded to buy more modulars. What i love the most about the building apart from the details is the layout. Really like the outdoor area and the studio up the top is really special. Playbility is good, even husband is impressed with how nice this look. Contemplating to have lights installed to make it look even better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soooooo detailed When I found out about this set, I was amazed by the amount of detail. This set is truly amazing. The Parisian Restaurant has 3 floors: The restaurant, an apartment, and an art studio. There is so much detail in the front, and the back has a dumpster, a trash can and a rat. There is an outdoor patio and even a lonely croissant at one of the tables. The kitchen has knives, a fridge, pots and pans, and even some dessert! In the apartment, there was a pullout bed and some kitchen accessories. When I put it together, I realized how detailed the chimney was. I loved the olive green and dark blue colors. Overall, this set is really great and it it great for it's price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great build This was my first modular/creator expert build. I definitely enjoyed it. It is a beautiful set. The details are fantastic. The embellishments on the roof are lovely and the kitchen details are extensive. The restaurant just generally is a very pretty set, with flowers, plants and lamps all around. The only negative I have is that my fingers are probably just a little fat for looking around inside the restaurant and sometimes when I remove a layer a few parts fall off. But that is definitely not enough to turn me off. It is beautiful and fun! This set will be a great display set as well as a good playable set for when I eventually have some kids. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to add to their collection; fun and a great way to spend a weekend :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just like all the other modular sets, this is very expensive in comparison to its playability. It’s a great set for animations and build quality, as ever, is amazing. I would definitely recommend this set to an experienced builder or collector, but not to a kid purely because you could get so much more for the price in other areas that could offer more hours of enjoyment such as an rc car, a drone, even a tablet. This set is great for animators who don’t mind spending more money for a better quality set, with a few characters and amazing elements!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnifique! This was my first modular build (first of now many!) and I was definitely spoiled by starting with this one. The attention to detail is absolutely stunning. The interior is so detailed, I haven't found any other modular comes close on this one. I found it average to challenging at times and I took my time over it. Completed over a series of weekends, a few hours at a time. My favourite parts are the kitchen and loft art studio. The roof was tricky and took several attempts - perhaps I'm too heavy handed and I kept collapsing it! It makes a very lovely end piece to my now rapidly expanding street.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! This set was joy to build. I really like looking at it; even more than playing with it! The overall design of the building is brilliantly done: with mellow colors in darker shades that compliment each other, unique bricks that give the builder a feel of Paris, and amazingly printed figures complete the set!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! That was a building experience! It took me almost two weeks with about 2-3 hours per day, every day to build the set. But once I started I couldn't stop. Really cool set with so many tiny details. It is amazing what designers put together for this set. Loved it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A really good set but one big flaw I had a lot of fun building this set and playing with it. Lego did a really nice job adding lots of detail to this model. But I have one big complaint. On the first floor there are pillars between the windows that are made from robot arms and staff pieces. But the problem is, they would not fit together without getting stuck about half way in. I actually had to put the robot arm pieces in BOILING WATER so that they would expand to fit the staff piece in. Overall i think this is a really great set, and I would recommend it to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing & fun build Overall, the Parisian Restaurant has been a wonderful and exciting build for me. Everything fits perfectly, and is fun and easy to play with. One of the things that I really enjoy about this model and other modular buildings is how many fun little elements are inside each room. My favorite part would probably be the kitchen. It has chefs, a fridge, a sink and much more. One of the things that I did not like so much in the model is how hard it is to see the art studio. It has a hinged curved wall that opens, not like a top that lifts off. Another thing that I don't like so much is how cramped the dining area is. LEGO did a beautiful job on the windows , floor and decoration, but it is so cramped that it is hard to fully appreciate and enjoy this area. To end my report, I would like to point out how nicely LEGO has made the top floor outer decorations. The beautiful architecture matches the French theme, and tops off the model perfectly. Thank you so much for reading my review of this amazing model. Yay for LEGO!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lego set!!! Parisian Restaurant is on of the greatest Lego creator experts sets. The entire building is full of details, especially in the restaurant. In there, we have two tables, a kitchen with accessories and two beautiful windows with curtains. Also on the second level of the building, we have a very nice terrace with chairs and flowers. The only disadvantage of this set is that the artist studio should have more details. Comparing to the older modular buildings sets (Palace Cinema, Grand Emporium) this set is smaller and with more details. Parisian Restaurant is perfect for you if you want a luxurious restaurant in your Lego city.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I honestly have nothing bad to say about this model. It's beautiful, it's extremely detailed, and it's so fun to build. Not to mention the great price for a whopping 2469 pieces! And not only does it look great from the front, but it also looks great from the back! I also love the idea of being able to connect other LEGO modular buildings on to this to make a city. In my opinion, this is the nicest modular building available at this time (May 2017). I really don't have much else to say about the model because I can't think of any other words to describe it's amazingness. I think people who like intricate details will really enjoy constructing this model because it sure does have alot of them! I'm not sure if I would recommend this to younger kids due to the fact that there are a few pieces that are prone to falling off. Plus, it just doesn't really seem like a playset in my opinion. In conclusion, great set, great price, and great work LEGO!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I love the detail of this set. The unusual use of pieces such as the croissants at the top. The inside has some great sections and the outside looks amazing. I've now gotten a thirst for more of these modular sets and have ordered a bunch more to make a street as a feature along with all the others we have. Good one lego designers, give yourselves a pat on the back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another modular masterpiece There is so much to love about this set - the incredible detailing of the exterior features, the fully featured commercial kitchen (including a stocked fridge), the studio apartment with fold down bed and the Artist's studio complete with art works. A really enjoyable build with plenty of opportunity for creative play. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Favorite LEGO Set EVER! I will admit, before buying this set I was wary because of the price tag that came along with it, and how large of a set it was, but because I wanted a challenge I bought it anyways. I have to say, this is a fantastic set! Allow me to list the positives and negatives: POSITIVES -Phenomenal detail all around, the outside looks VERY detailed, and when you open up the restaurant, each room has just as much detail -It's a very relaxing and fun build, there were no instances that fustrated me -The minifigs all fit this setting, from the waiter and chef who run the restaurant, to the man proposing to his soon-to-be-wife -No stickers, which is ALWAYS a huge plus for me -For 160 bucks, you get almost 2500 pieces, which is the best deal I've ever seen from LEGO, and it's well worth it NEGATIVES -None! Some people may have a problem paying this much which is understandable, but you will be very pleased when you do get it. I highly, HIGHLY recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning...... I've gone on a bit of a modular fest this last couple weeks after rekindling my modular addiction after putting together the Ghostbusters Firehouse. I've built the pet shop, cinema, the restaurant and assembly square. I'd built the cinema and pet shop years ago when they were first released so got them out of the way first. THIS, is by far my favourite modular to date. The finished model is simply beautiful and I'm completely in love with it. It's the only one I will probably leave a review of. It's very pretty, superb interior and exterior details, is great to play with and looks fabulous on a street. Don't hesitate. If this set disappoints you, you are not a fan of Lego!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from À la santé! A wonderful build. Managed to finish this one within a couple of snow days. The roof was the trickiest (getting parts to stay attached) but also the best part. I love wine so this set was perfect for me since it was packed with that exact feel, even including a wine cabinet. Sort of sad I finished it. Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this set! I just completed the Parisian Restaurant. I worked on it for days because I didn't want to finish it too fast. I wanted to enjoy constructing it. It's a great build. The attention to details is amazing. I've done over 50 Lego kits and still can be surprised at some little details a kit has that makes me smile. In this kit, it was the Lego curtains, complete with tie-backs, the couple celebrating getting engaged, and the artist's loft. The chimney and the "fancy" roof were great. Thank you, Lego team, for a super kit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Much Fun! I haven't built anything Lego since my now grown children were small... The Parisian Restaurant caught my attention when it was released and I finally decided to make the purchase. I spent a couple of cold, blustery weekends assembling the kit and was so impressed with the detail... I particularly love the kitchen and the entire second level apartment. I think I'm hooked - contemplating the Assembly Square as my next purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first venture into modulars This is my first modular building and I was expecting great things and I wasn't disappointed. The build is challenging and has innovative uses of pieces in unexpected ways and the finished model looks amazing inside and out I would recommend this set to anyone either an experienced modular builder or as a first set of this type.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Lego set I like this lego set because it has so much detail. I would recommend this to any intermediate, advanced, or expert lego builder. I like that it has 3 stories, a restoraunt, an apartment and an art studio. I also like the fold out Murphy bed on the second floor and the little dumpster in the back. This is a great lego set and goes well with the pet shop, the detectives office, palace cinema, the brick bank, town hall, grand emporium, fire brigade etc. This is a very cool set, and I would highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fall in Love with the Parisian Restaurant Wow, wow, WOW. The design and thought in this set are truly amazing. I really enjoyed the fun surprises in the restaurant, such as the tiled floor, kitchen storage, wine bar and curtains in the restaurant dining room. There were other thoughtful details such as the ground-level patio brick pattern and the crown molding underneath the restaurant trellis, only to be covered up by other parts, but it's that level of detail that made this set such a joy to build. One of my favourite unexpected parts was the dumpster in the back with the food scraps! That was a nice little discovery. I LOVE the art studio under the roof which seems like a perfect space to inspire an artist and includes storage for the extra canvas. The architectural details were fantastic to build and inspiring in their creativity, truly reminiscent of Parisian building facades. The way little portions of bricks stick out of the wall all around the building was a nice little touch to give the feel that this is an older building. Nearly everything is buildable, which is truly a feat by the designers of this set and (in my view), respectful of LEGO fans and Expert Builders. They could easily have made customized single large pieces for the architectural details, but they didn't. I'm so glad they put in the extra effort to create these designs using common pieces, which means you can replicate them on your own self-designed buildings. My only criticism with the design is the number of doors in the second floor apartment (three in total). I would have used a window instead of a balcony door in the kitchen to provide extra counter space or seating for my LEGO figure. If I had extra pieces, I would build some stairs at the back of the building to access the apartment instead of having the LEGO figure go through the busy rooftop patio to enter the apartment. Overall, I am very pleased with this set and it is the perfect start to my modular collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my first Lego, I'm loving it!!!!! When I was little, I don't have Lego, but I love playing 1000+ piece puzzles. This Xmas I told my husband I need a BIG toy for Xmas. We were deciding between 2000+ pieces Lego and 500+. I'm glad we eventually purchased this nice restaurant set! It is not cheap but totally worth any penny! Later I did a bit research on Lego's product quality and competitors. I'm fully convinced that Lego makes the BEST block toys!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't hurry, be happy I have twin sons that 9 yrs old, I reignited my love of Lego’s when they were about 3 starting with Duplo and moving up from there. They are now both very creative builders and spend hours with Legos. We got them both a Creator set for Christmas (to help them build) and it was a blast, they both had one already. They now have all four of the available sets (cinema, restaurant, bank, detective’s office). I have enjoyed helping them build all four of them, watching them play with them, modifying them and then returning them all back to original. If you have a child that spends as much time as they can playing with legos and building some of the smaller sets on their own I would strongly recommend the purchase. Keep in mind that patience is key and that building is the fun for the parents, sorting and playing is the fun for the kids. Depending on the ability of your builder you will have to decide, but if they love to build and sort you can make a day, weekend or even week of it. Don’t try to hurry, always sort the pieces by steps before you start and then make sure you sort the pieces for each page as you go. It can be easy to get distracted and walk away only to find out 8 pages later you missed something…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Birthday gift for 7 year old My daughter just turned seven and I got this for her as a birthday gift. She has breezed through a number of the Lego Friends collections this summer managed to get through the Lego Architecture Berlin within 40 minutes... so for her birthday I wanted to get her something challenging. We ended up getting her a few of the Lego Creator models namely the VW Camper (16+), the Brick Bank (16+) and this Parisian Restaurant (16+). When asking the sales associate at the lego store which models would be the most interactive (as it seems she likes to play with the legos once she is done making them) the associate was a bit surprised that we were looking at these models for a child who was just turning seven. He insisted (although very politely) that this might be a bit too challenging for her and that unless an adult was making the lego and she was helping then it might end up being something that would end up frustrating the child more than anything else and we might end up having the puzzle set to the side without much interest. The sales associate was really very nice and looking out for our best interest and I did appreciate the honesty and candor. I did look through some of the models he suggested but honestly she has gone through 800+ piece legos within a few hours so they would have been somewhat boring and we were looking to challenge her. I figured we would get them anyways and if the challenge was too great we would set it aside for when she got just a little older. For the record, none of us help our seven year old with her legos. I for one have never even attempted to build one as the whole thing just looks like a very daunting task! The most I do is play the part of "the lovely assistant" as she calls me and demands that i sort the pieces by color... easy enough for me... I'm in! Then i sit there and watch her go! Well she got the legos for her birthday and the very next day she wanted to open this particular one. The Parisian Restaurant. For the first 10 minutes she looked at them, then she threw a mega hissy fit when she realized the instructions were not quite the same apparently as the Friends collections she had done in the past. She said the instructions were "like the architecture one"... if that makes any sense to anyone. I could not see what she was talking about. And then she was given the choice to set this lego set aside and to play with some of the other toys she had received at her birthday party (barbies and shopkins) or to move forward and try and figure it out. Within 15 minutes she was sorting through the plastic bags and inching her way towards building this set. She wanted me to be her "lovely assistant" and to "watch her make it" and so i sat there and sorted the different pieces by color and set them aside.... that was the ONLY assistance she got. Within the one day (this weekend) that she worked on it she finished bags numbered one and is almost done with bags numbered 2 and I cannot believe the ease with which she is going through it.... She oohs and awws about all of the little details and I took a look at what she has finished so far and it is IDENTICAL to what the pictures show on the instructions manual... She loves the detail and I have to say it is really very impressive. It comes with it's very own little grey rat! Oohhh la la! She still has a way to go and I will update as she finishes this set up and see what she likes and does not like about it... If someone could just guide me on an article that describes in detail the various collections of lego and what makes each of them different i would greatly appreciate that. I will let her get through the other models from this creator collection and build her little town (apparently these models all can be put one next to the other to create a little city) and in the meantime I will try and find something that will challenge her a little bit more... Not so much with the length of time... but rather the complexity of the instructions manuals... I liked it when i saw her have a mini meltdown regarding the fact that the instructions were not the same as the other ones she had done... I am looking for more of those kinds of reactions. I know... bad, bad mommy! But those meltdowns mean she is being somewhat challenged. Also how reliable are the ages on the boxes of lego? And does the challenge get greater as she goes from bag 1 to bag 2 to bag 3 to bag 4 or is the level of challenge within the same box the same... meaning.... if she got through bags 1 and 2 with zero problems does the difficulty level of this particular puzzle stay the same or does it get tougher as you near completion of the lego set? In any event... this is by far one of the legos that gave me the most fun to watch her make. The initial challenge... the frustration... the lightbulb moment... the enjoyment in watching her put the pieces together, the ease with which she does it and the enjoyment she gets are all worth the while! I would certainly recommend this set to anyone whose kid wants a lego and to any mom or dad who wants the lego to last longer than a few hours before being completed! Fun stuff! Love it! PS: I have added a picture that i took when she finished the first batch of bags with the number one on them...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Parisian Restaurant I've been wanting to get this set for a long time and when I finally got it, I, fortunately, wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed building the whole thing with so many different pieces throughout the build. It incorporated some new and interesting techniques that I had wondered how to do. Once built the restaurant looks impressive with the red carpet leading to the door where the ChezAlbert sign hangs above. The building features not common colours with the olive-green of the walls and dark blue of the roof. I like the alfresco dining as it is nicely tucked away, creating some privacy. The inside is great as well. There is plenty of room to play on the ground floor with the dining area and fully-equipped kitchen. I really liked the blue curtains and all the different components that made up the kitchen, such as the fridge and sink. I also liked the 2nd-floor apartment and top floor artist's studio and found they suited the building. They had some cool features such as an opening fireplace, and a bed that can be tucked away. I liked the minifigures that went with the set, even though their expressions were all standard, and found that they complemented the set nicely. Overall, it has been worth the wait as this set as gone past my expectations. It is my fist modular building set and I think it will go well with my expanding city and Lego collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unique design, great set This was my first modular building set. I think it had the best price of any modular currently in release. The roof had many cool pieces and a lovely new design to it. I loved the contrast of the blue and white. The olive green bricks looked great. My favorite part was the kitchen because it came with many beautiful food pieces. The stove and island was amazing. The tile floor was also beautiful. One thing that I wish was changed was that the chains and flower pots were done differently to make it more stable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Build One of my favourite Lego builds ever. The Parisian Restaurant is my first modular and I'm sad that I haven't been getting them all along. Thankfully I have another couple on the way to start my streetscape. There are so many little details in the build; the designers have done an amazing job. You'll be surprised that you have a bunch of feather pieces that go in and make up a beautiful feature at the top of the building. The Murphy bed in the artist's studio is genius as is the use of simple elements to create the French-feel of the facade. I can't wait for my next modulars to arrive so I can have even more fun building!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the Best Ever The title says it all. This set is outstanding! Lots of details everywhere you look. I do not have a negative thing to say about this thing. I love the color scheme. The chef's kitchen is great, especially the little fridge with items inside it! The whiskey bar, as I have made it, inside looks great! I feel like I am looking at an old, classic place with a lot of historical pieces in it. GREAT BUILD! This is quite possibly my favorite modular of them all, I think the Green Grocer is the only one that might be better. Get this thing while you can! I see this set being hard to come by for a decent price once it is retired!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Parfait! I am not that familiar with building Lego sets, but I love Paris and I love to cook so I wanted to put this in my kitchen/dining area. I LOVE this set! I took to building it like a duck to orange sauce. Apparently I am a hidden Expert builder because I found it easy, addictive, and FUN to build this Paris Restaurant right in my kitchen! I have used it photographically, because I am a photographer, and I have shown it off to my friends - they think I'm nuts anyway so no harm done. If you like to build, this is a great set. Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my First Modular. And... Well Its my first big building, and I intend on getting one every 2 years or so thanks to the high prices, but this set was great. Elegance is key in building these buildings. It had a lot of detail, its a great restaurant inside. LEGO must keep these classic faces. Its what also makes these sets good as well. I would be interested in buying them more often than 2 years, but something in pricing must change.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would grade at A- / B+ This is my 5th modular; I have the Pet Shop, Movie Theater, Gran Emporium, Town Hall and now Parisian restaraunt. (I like to wait as long as possible to buy the newest sets, optimallly just before retirement) I did not have very high expectations for the set coming in, the colors and look just never really grabbed my attention. That said, after the build, I have a much higher appreciation for the set. Once the set is sitting in front of you, the colors really pop, and the scheme was much under appreciated my your truly. Color scheme wise I now regard it as one of my favorites. as far as the build, it was a really fun a great build with the exception of the awnings made from the little ink pen pieces. those awnings really took a while, and though they really look good once complete, they were kind of monotonous to put together. Those awnings and the white crossant pieces on the roof, which never see to want to be in the perfect position and are the only pieces susceptible to just popping off if handled the wrong way. I am anxious to see how it looks next to he other modulars I have which are put away for now. Especially with the steps will look next to another modular, but Im pretty confident I can find a modular combinaton to make the steps really pop when placed next to its new neighbor. I like the minis, but the set feels like it is missing one or two more, residents of the upper apartments (the engaged couple cannot be in two places at once). I would say, if you are a modular collector, it is a must. I would also say I like the movie theater a little bit better structure-wise, but the restaraunt has its own flair, it stands out, and it is a really fun build. The detail inside the kitchen area and the 2nd floor apartment is really great, and could be two of the best rooms in the entire modular collection. I would highly recommend, and if you are worrying about the colors - dont. Again, upon completion the colors look so much more unique and pretty than in pictures. I think once the restaraunt is put next to the right modular, the colors and the steps which go to the back, will add that extra detail and look that other modulars cannot provide; A-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Build, Beautiful Result I've been wanting to purchase a larger Lego set for a long time now, and when I finally had the money to do so I took a long time researching which one to buy. After careful consideration, I chose the Parisian Restaurant and have not been disappointed! I expected the build to take a good week or so of tinkering around, but I had underestimated the addictive nature of a large set. The entire thing was finished within three days. The Parisian Restaurant sits as the main feature on my desk at work, surrounded by several Lego figures, and has been a conversation starter more than once. I hope to soon be able to expand my village! Best set I have ever built; well worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Creator in my life Used to fan of the other Lego series, such as Pirates and Castle, however, the Creator has captured my mind completely to fall in a love with this series. For its intriguing details to be seen by the minifigure's point of view, the numerous bricks come into a huge building, and its high edge finishing of entire set are enough to convince me to rate this as the highest grade among the Creator series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First build in the Creator Series Great fun, kept me busy for a few days. Likes: Some cool features, such as the fire places. One "Easter Egg" the frying pan in the top draw. Not so sures: This base plate is 10"x10" whereas others in the series are 9"x9" Dislikes: The figures, the hair is a little loose in fitting. The food is out of scale, especially the turkey! Like wise the drinking glasses. The base plate was slightly warped, and remained so when the model was completed. Hints: To over come the loose fittings, I used small pieces of blue-tak This can also be used to hold the standing figures and the painters easel in place if the model gets knocked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best LEGO Set I Have Probably Ever Purchased! NOTE: The build was an estimate. I did take breaks in-between. I received this for my birthday and I have to say I absolutely just love this set. It's my favorite modular and even with the Brick Bank, I love this set more. The building techniques are amazing. The feathers used for texturing, the shells used for decorations, and the pots being used for the lamps inside. This is packed with details. The exterior detail is great, the interior detail offers so much, and the design was well thought out. Not to mention, you get lots of cool rare pieces in this set and when I say rare I mean the olive bricks used on this building, the flower pots, the shells, dark blue bricks for the roof, and the 32x32 light blueish grey baseplate. It's great how the levels can come off. I can't find any cons with this set, I am serious, there are absolutely no cons whatsoever! If you're going for a modular, GET THIS! This is definitely worth the buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Enjoyable I bought this set for me to build and my children to play with. On both counts, this was an enjoyable set. Some of the earlier modulars had a lot of unused space but this one was quite loaded. The intricacy of the roof and facade was as good as it gets with Lego.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good First Lego Acquisition for Adult This was the first time I've ever purchased a Lego product for myself. My husband is a lifelong fan and I wanted to see what it was all about and so I bought all the creator expert building sets. This was entertaining and a little challenging. The instructions are easy to follow and nothing was missing. I liked laying out all the pieces for each level before beginning, my husband prefers to work from piles. Everything went smoothly and the overall product is solid. I built it over several days as time allowed. I was able to build a level in about 6 hours (including sorting time) . I should get faster over time. My only complaints are: 1. There are random beige bricks in the green wall. Annoying! 2. The white croissants do not stay in place well, at the slightest touch they can fall off. I was tempted to glue them in place. 3. The flower basket poles on the patio are not super stable. 4. I wish the turkey was sized to fit on a Lego or even a tray like the croissants. It is just too big. Overall I am happy with the purchase. It is a nice way to unwind and so I will continue to add buildings to my collection as they come out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lego set for your Lego city Got this set for Christmas for myself. I have not put it together yet due to the holiday activities. I bought it to go with my other modular Lego sets. I have road plates and vehicles to make a nice Lego city street for display. Get this set, it looks like fun to put together!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Set This set is amazing! The only concern i have is how hard it was to connect this to the detectives office. I only could connect one of the things and take the other out. and there was a big crack in between the two buildings after connecting them. aside from that, its awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular! I have a couple of the modular buildings but this even tops the Haunted House which was my previous favorite. As others have noted the details are great and I loved the facade and roof of the building. There was a little repetition but the end result was worth it. It's a beautiful piece. I learned several new building techniques too. My only con is that I wish it was hinged like the haunted house so that you can open it. I'm pleased to see the Ghost Buster's fire house that will be released in 2016 incorporates this building technique.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME This lego set is just AWESOME! There is so much detail. In the back there is a piping system and stairs that lead all the way to the artist's studio. A nice feature is the uplifted eating area that contains two lamp posts with hanging flower pots. This is a great set a recommend it. The kitchen is quite small though and it is not to easy to put your hand in there to put food, pots, pans, etc. in the cabinets and drawers. Anyhow if you like it and want it go ahead and buy it. THIS SET IS AWESOME!!!!! I am actually below 14 but they don't have that age category. ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I received this for a Christmas present. After our party, I went home and stayed up nearly all night working on it. It is a beautiful example of what you can do with Legos. My parents are somewhat critical of me asking for more expensive sets like these, but after showing them it, they certainly changed their minds. I have always loved building and using my creativity to make cool things. This is my first modular building and it won't be my last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A worthwhile build This marks my first modular building, and it won't mark my last. The minifigures aren't anything to gawk at, but the building is so packed with detail it makes me wonder how they fit everything in there. It also has hidden details, stuff you can't see on the box. It has three floors, all packed with detail on the exterior and interior. The price is low for its piece count (at least at the time I bought it), and a wide variety of hard-to-find food pieces. This set is the ninth modular building in the series and the only lego restaurant of all time. It has a faulty description because the seagull was not included with the set and the white croissant is only a decoration on the third floor. The minifigures have simple detailing on their torsos and no details on their legs. There are five minifigures. A chef, a proposing couple, a waiter, and a artist. The first floor is the biggest, having outdoor and indoor dining, a completely detailed back, wine cabinent, and a fully stocked kitchen. The second floor comes in two pieces, and sports alfresco style dining, terrace and apartment complete with hide-a-bed! The third floor is the smallest, and boasts opening walls, fancy details, chimney, and paintings. THE PROS three floors wide array of food pieces brick-built curtains lego rings THE CONS fragile no bad guys multicolored walls missing pieces Since 2014, every lego set I have purchased has been missing at least one piece. Most of them are replaceable or irrelevant but, this hindered construction on the second floor when a 1x3 brick in olive green went missing. As a result, I was unable to finish the second window until the replacement arrived. This was a very complicated build, hence the16+ sign on the box . It took me 17 hours to build. But, I don't have much time to build with lego sets. All in all, this was a worthwhile build, and I am looking forward to hooking another modular building onto my partisan restaurant soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant! This is my second modular after the Palace cinema. I thought the palace cinema was good but this is almost perfect! Architecture is amazing, I love how all the different techniques are used to create it and the use of things like wheel arches, croissants, hinges and different types of slopes and windows are used together to make this set. The interior is stunning especially the kitchen that is extremely detailed. I especially love the units and that fridge is amazing with the printed milk carton. I love the outside dinning areas which means your minifigures have somewhere to sit in clear view when displaying the set. Second floor apartment and the artists studio are also brilliant. The only thing that is kind of an issue for me but at the same time isnt. Is the style of the building doesn't seem to fit as well with the other modulars being a European / French style. However on the other hand it does make it unique and would be a great stand a lone set. Next on my list is the detectives office, I am not sure anything will top this set though, we will see!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love lego. I have been purchasing lego for years now. I originally started when my children were young. I still have their lego and have made lego land scenes with them. I have added to the collection in the past 2 years. I think it is such a great learning and educating toy around and lego has been around for many years entertaining all kinds of children and adults. I would recommend lego to anyone because I know they will have much enjoyment just as I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had seen the other Lego modular building sets and thought that they would be fun to build. When this came out, I knew it would be more than fun; I knew It would be a must have. The detail and the appearance are astounding. I have started purchasing all the modular buildings after this and have bought two others that have been discontinued. Everybody loves to see my Lego street.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all round set Fantastic, decided to buy this to challenge my 5 year old son (who has been brought up on lego!) and although needing some help he did manage to build most of it. In Hindsight, possibly a little tough for a 5 year old, but now its built the hours upon hours of play its providing him are endless so the value for money is unquestionable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible details I really liked this set since the first moment I saw it, but before getting it I purchased other 2 modular buildings that were released way before in order to prevent difficulties finding them later on. I need to say that I regret not buying this set before! The level of detail is so amazing! Specially the kitchen. The colors are very unique as well, I really like the vibe it gives to my Lego city. The shapes, the old fashioned furnishings, this set is very unique! Total recommendation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First modular building I was saving up quite a while to get this one but it proved to be worth it. First of all there were NO STICKERS!!!! Instead they were all customized printed tiles made specifically for this set. Secondly were the pieces in general. There were all sorts of rare bricks that were in there! From the knives in the kitchen to the artist's palette! Anyways, overall this was the best set I've ever bought!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Modular, Period My wife and I recently relocated to Paris and what better way to kick off our new move than by putting together our own Parisian Restaurant! The overall build took us a few nights and, along the way, there were plenty of fun building surprises. We probably could have built this in an afternoon without a problem, but as we build we like to take our time and review some of the more interesting building techniques... and this modular is full of them! Though some of the other modulars are taller, we like the detailed interiors and interesting small builds that have come with the more recent modular sets (Pet Shop, Detective's Office). So, for those looking for interesting building techniques, put this at the top of the list. Like all the modulars, this is top-quality and hard to ding. For those making modular city, the restaurant terrace is awkward to place and really looks its best at the end of the block, where the customers can enjoy some fresh air without being cramped next to another building and The Chef can gaze out from the kitchen window as he's slicing and dicing. :) Of all the modulars, this has been our favorite build for the sheer building experience and we think this is one of the most interesting looking modulars, when all the bricks are aligned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This set is beautiful! I love the detail of this building! I love how fancy it is inside and out. I hope Lego will make other buildings similar to this kind. This set it definetly my favorite ever! My son is so disappointed they don't sell the town hall anymore when he saw it on the box of the Parisian Restaurant because they go together and the larger detailed buildings are becoming our favorite. So glad I have this to spend fun quality time with my son! Keep it up Lego!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most extravagant set I've ever purchased. It recently occurred to me that even though I bought this set earlier in the year, I hadn't written a review on it. This set is simply the best and most extravagant LEGO product I have ever purchased in my life. Absolutely phenomenal and lengthy build (I am a well-educated builder and this set took me 7 hours and 12 minutes to fully assemble) with beautiful techniques and exceptional detail. When I first acquired enough money to purchase a modular building, I wanted the Detective's Office. I decided on this one because I figured it would have more space in the inside for play (which it does). I am definitely very happy with my decision. Although I may end up obtaining the Detective's Office at some point, I feel like this set is a great set to start your modular collection. However, I am by all means not saying that this set is easy to build. In all honesty most of the time spent constructing this magnificent model was looking for pieces, as it comes with so many and most are of similar colors. The techniques are not specifically difficult, but I could see possible trouble with kids younger than 10 trying to build this set. The set is 3 stories tall, with individual rooms on the inside. There is plenty of space to pose and play with your minifgures, and obviously you have to remove any floors above the space to access the area (this is not a complaint, as this is meant to be a modular structure). On the first floor, there is the main dining/cooking are for the restaurant. Please do note that the restaurant is only on the first floor and outside balcony on the second floor. The restaurant floor is definitely the most detailed and in my opinion best floor of the building. There is lots of space and accessories like a refrigerator, sink, countertops with cooking utensils and an island in the center. In the dining area, there are two tables and a very nicely designed cabinet holding some bottles. The floor is fully "tiled" in the kitchen and has simulated hardwood floors in the main section. Before talking about the second floor, I'd like to first mention the outdoor balcony. It is mostly made up of a few small tables and a railing lining the edges. There are also some lamp posts along the railing to brighten the mood. The stairway goes from the front of the outside of the building all the way to the third floor, going through the balcony. The only other detail is that there is a small table or other platform holding yet another set of bottles. The second floor of the Parisian Restaurant is a cozy apartment. The living space includes a kitchen area, living room coffee table and chair, a table at the eating space, and a warm fireplace. There is even a fold-out bed for the minifig couple to sleep on. Finally, there is a door to enter directly from the balcony and a small terrace on the reverse side of the set. The third floor, an artist's studio, is the least detailed of the three floors but still has some charming features. There is a modestly sized canvas holder and palette stand. There is also a canvas storage space (which holds both small brick-built canvases). Also there is a furnace or fireplace of some kind, but I am not knowledgeable enough in my art vocabulary to put a name to it (possibly a kiln?) There is a stairwell on the outside of the third floor that leads up and down from the main balcony as previously mentioned. The way the artist's studio is accessed is by opening the whole backside of the third floor similar to a hatch. To "top" it off (excuse the pun) we have exceptional detailing on the outside of the third floor, featuring to white ornate structures that really add to the Parisian look itself. The only other thing that is yet to be mentioned is the outside of the building (excluding the balcony section). The front of the restaurant section has another set of small tables as well as flower holders on the outside. The following is not a noticeable detail just by looking at the building, but as you're building this model you will be able to see it. The outside front dining area has a tiled floor, and if the tables are removed, the tiles spell out "Chez" hence the restaurant's name "Chez Albert". I thought this was a genius little idea and hope to see more little secrets like these in the future. Wow, what a set. This is the longest review I've written on LEGO'S website, and I believe this set well deserves it. While looking beautiful and very fancy on the outside, this set also looks great and has many details on the inside. Thank you so much LEGO for making this magnificent set. Definitely my best purchase by far. I recommend this set to anyone, and I hope this long review is very beneficial to you. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favourite... so far This set is simply so likeable that you have to think hard to find any cons. Ok, so I don't have many sets and this was my first modular. It doesn't matter really, because when I pay this much for a toy, I always have second thoughts regardless of its quality. Right here, I have none. This is the first time I can't think of any criteria being less than 5/5. First, the building is yummy. Quite simple really but hey, it's not Technic. Some stages may be monotonous for some people (like tiles, roof, some decorations), but they last for a few minutes and then you start doing something else. From time to time you need to stop building just to marvel at the results. That's why it took me 14 hours. The parts are usually small, but incredibly varied. The colors I like the most are olive green and dark blue. Decorative parts are wonderful. In the kitchen there are so many accessories that you'd cook yourself some dinner straight away, if you were a minifigure. Other useful parts include lots of plants, fences, tiles, windows and of course plenty of different bricks. THERE ARE NO STICKERS. Minifigures are nothing special for me. They just add to the Restaurant's playability which is quite considerable. They can cook, paint, clean windows, chase a rat, ride a bike or drink so many bottles of different brands, just to fall asleep on a nearby bench. I can guarantee you'll keep saving for another modular after getting this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money I bought this set for my son for his birthday, and he loved it. This was the first modular building I had bought, and I was surprised by the level of difficulty and piece count. You don't even know how many pieces there are until you open it. The build wasn't that hard, but it took him a long time to build it. The set has many details on the inside and outside, which is good for looks and makes it have a level of playability. Many advanced building techniques used here, too. Pros: *Many advanced building techniques *A lot of exterior and interior detail *Nice, rare olive-green color *Very big and will WOW anyone that sees it *Modular building to help with interior access Cons: None!(the first time I have said that)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed, but with a few bugs This is the first expert set I've purchased, very happy about it, took longer to finish it because my little ones insisted to "help" me, if no distraction I could finish in one day. I'd like to point out a little bugs about each floor. The first floor, the little white poles in between the windows, I missed a few white connecting pieces. The manual was confusing when building the stairs connecting first and second floor, it didn't provide multiple views that hard to see the structure, I had to guess and build, and the stairs are still a little uneven. The sea shells decoration on the roof of third floor won't close tightly, kept stucking out, which is a little annoying to me. I'm a perfectionist. But most of all I like this kind of city buildings, would collect the rest if possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable detail! My daughter and I have been building Lego for years! I am so thrilled with the detail that goes into the Parisian Restaurant! The Lego designers truly thought of everything. - the kitchen has a tiled floor, a wall of kitchen utensils, stove and fridge that opens. - The inside eating area - has Lego curtains! Seriously - they are made of bricks but I can totally see them swaying in the breeze! There is a wine cabinet too! - The outside seating is adorable and totally PARIS! there is street level seating to "people watch" and an upstairs patio area! - The second level has an apartment with a cute fireplace, stove, table and comfy chair! - Even the back is detailed! An outside cooler - full of food, garbage can and rat! - the attic has a little room for the "starving" art student who painting in Paris! Love it! - The detail in the roof is amazing! - This was an amazing build! My daughter thought of her own story line with the mini figs -the guy is proposing, waiter is bringing wine and the love of his life (the one who got away) come roaring up on her motorbike! We adding a ton of mini figs to fill up the patio and even gave the Artist upstairs a cat! This set is fantastic! If you have built other modulars - this is a must and you will be blown away by the detail. This set is by far our favorite!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! As a 'young' lego builder like myself, it is believed it is quite challenging. I disagree as I managed to complete this around the same time as any Lego expert would :D Which I am really proud of! :3 Its such a highly detailed set and my eyes set on the 'wall bed' as I like to call it. Obviously I added my own features to the set but only small ones as this set is one of the most detailed. Id say this ranks #2 out of the big creator sets

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great start to a Modular Town This set was my first experience with Lego Modulars. I pretty much knew what to expect from watching the design video and some speed builds on the internet which helped me choose this set. My biggest pleasure in building the Restaurant was to see all the creative building techniques used to make this detailed scene. For example, the scallops at the roofline are constructed with fenders used in many vehicles. The technique used to build the unique rounded and hinged roof of the third-story artist studio was also interesting. The assortment of minifigs gives a lot of possibilities for play scenarios, but I expect that most people will display these (and most of the other modulars) as keepsakes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Beautiful! First off, Shoutout to my mom who got this for me! It took me about two days to fully build it, with not too many breaks. It is a beautiful three level building with an amazing amount of details. I especially love the tiled floor and the corner sink in the kitchen, it really gives it something special. The other thing I love is the details on the outside with the white shell pieces and the pillers on the bottom floor are amazing and a great use of the white paistery pieces for added details. I'd have to say there are the most details on the first floor/ restaraunt floor. Not a single area of this looks out of place and everything goes together so nicely. Especially the olive green color of the outside is very nice. Also, the third floor art studio is very nicely done with the kiln (I think thats what it's called) and how the roof opens up for easy acess to the minifigure inside. Next to the minifigures, I really love the romantic couple and I think it is so cute that lego added the ring for him to propose! I also like the generic lego happy face that they had when I was younger, but I am happy they now include the girl hair for the girls because when I was a little kid they only made the little yellow construction workers with a few hair pieces. Honestly it's been a long time since I got a lego set before this and I am so happy to find the girls now. I also think the waiter (even though he is dislocating his shoulder when he carries the tray) and the chef with the chef knife are also cute. Overall great set, and I am soon getting the Palace Cinima in the mail.

Eventually, I purchased the kit anyway. THIS DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I was unsure of my skill level... (Intermediate-ish) but had no trouble with this kit. It took a few hours, but was not really hard. I think it was labeled expert because there is a lot of little details that make the kit fabulous! I would definitely recommend this to ANY LEGO BUILDER! It is costly, but no doubt worth it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a delight to build Hi guys, This is the first big LEGO Creator building I've bought (I have The Simpsons' house, Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!, and the tiny toy store), and I love it! I've attached some photos. They have been processed with Photoshop so they are a bit more lively light-wise than the actual building. I've had an almost 30 year gap in my LEGO life, so it is so much fun to have these little "Oh, I remember this construction trick" moments as well as the "Wow, they have these sorts of bricks today!" realisitions. It took me three nights to build the Parisian Restaurant, and all went smoothly. The only part where I had difficulties was the top floor and its gable which I knocked over two times mainly because it got secured to the other walls so late. Also, I have chubby fingers... :D The things I love about this set: The fasade details - a joy to build, and fascinating to look at; the restaurant curtains - the bricks actually, in my eyes at least, mimic the draping of the cloth (not so that it is visible but the way the bricks are layered); the olive colored bricks - what a refined tone; the rat - because I love smart rodents; the opening roof of the atelier; the fact that the minifigures have the basic LEGO face. I also love the color of the "logs" in the fireplaces. The dark chocolaty tone is so beautiful I wish I could find some other set with more of bricks with that color. Last but not least I really appreciate all the ideas and solutions this set gives to my own LEGO buildings - the bed that rises to the wall, the rotating armchair, the decorations inside and out, and one more time: the fireplaces. I think I will not take this building apart but rather modify it to fit the needs of my LEGO heroine and her neighbourhood. Maybe change some of the interior colors etc. The middle floor is perhaps a bit too manly for my heroine's taste... I can wholeheartedly recommend this building to any LEGO and architecture/interior design fan. Thanks for the experience, LEGO folks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Et Voilà le Restaurant de Lego City! I ordered this set (along with the Detective's Office) from lego.com and when they arrived (actually the postwoman brought the big carton to my front door) I just spent an hour looking at the boxes in awe. I had to assemble the flower cart that came along with these two buildings almost immediately after I'd finished with my making "awwwww" sounds. The Parisian Restaurant is so beautiful to look at that it makes my eyes go moist. I didn't know you could build something so beautiful out of mere plastic bricks. The backyard is the prettiest one in the series so far, I especially love the plants that are growing up the back wall. There are three separate play areas in this set. Firstly, there is the ground floor restaurant with so much detail that it makes your head spin. Secondly, there's the apartment on top of the restaurant that has an abundance of awesome pieces of furniture and thirdly, there's the top floor artist's studio with a roof so cool that I had to take it to the sauna to heat it up a bit. I believe I still have a touch of frostbite on my fingertips... I have only two things that I find not-so-pleasing with this set. 1) The fridge door is a bit tricky to open with my clumsy fingers. I'm still waiting for Lego to send me a pair of proper hands. Or just fingers, if hands are too difficult to manufacture... 2) Since the second tier of the building comes off in two parts, it is rather impossible to take the smaller section (the terrace floor) out if there's a building on the right side of the set. You have to take the house part out first and only then you can take out the terrace section without breaking anything. I also have one question: What is the big blue-and-grey boxy thing at the back of the building? Is it a dumpster? I sure hope not, because I stuck all my Lego bananas in it and I sure hope the garbage truck will stay away from it...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Favorite LEGO Modular to date! This is my favorite LEGO Modular set to date. The detail is amazing! The checkered floor in the kitchen and the hanging flowers and the Murphy bed... it's all so creative! My ONLY complaints about this set are: 1. Needs more minifigures. 2. The open air part outside only works well (for me anyway) with the new Detectives Office. 3. As your looking at it straight on, the right chimney knocks off really easy, so be careful. Once again, the detail in this set is simply amazing. This is a true LEGO set!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Parisian Restaurant Love this building and would say it is my favorite one to date. The details were amazing and Lego never fails to surprise me with the way they have you put together beautiful and intricate building decorations. The exterior and interior of this building do not disappoint. There is new level of sophistication with this restaurant. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the whole family It was a great build. Very fun. But the end product is just fantastic. It's very well thought out and easy to play with. Hours of fun with my two young boys. A plus, my 5 year old can easily take off the levels and put it back together without any difficulties. Just fantastic.
