Then launch a deadly double attack by splitting the hero speedster into a sky speeder for air assaults and a planet speeder for ground combat. Don’t let the insectoid eggs hatch! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bug-Juggernaut This is a very cool set. I love the minifigs: Billy Starbeam, Red Robot, Mantizoid, and little larva-thingies. I esp. like the Mantizoid, with his unique head and two-piece claws. If you want him to hold something, just take the claws off. Also, the Red Team speeder is a good addition to any army, with long-barreled guns on the front, a hinged cockpit, and a detachable back section that is also its own speeder. And now, the main event. The Hive Crawler has legs that ripple up and down in a way similar to a real bug's legs. Also, there's a catapult that launches the small, pink eggs with the larvae inside. If you really want, you could even probably fit a Space Swarmer inside. There's also a cool cockpit with controls and two, hexagonally-sectioned eyes (the sections are stickers). My personally favorite thing is the massive twin cannons in the middle of the vehicle; for me, these were the real reason I bought it. Overall, a great set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is amazing!! The Lego Set 70708 Hive Crawler is AMAZING! I mean how did lego to get the idea of the moving legs? It's very clever design. The Minifigures are great ! The Larve is very detailed and look dangerous :p. The catapult works very well . It took me over and hour to build the Hive Crawler . The Red Team speeder looks very fast and looks better than the Warp Stinger set. This is the Galaxy Squad's biggest bug . Amazing features, looks like a real bug. This is Amazing! Get it! You will NOT be disappointed with this set!! :) :) :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really crawls! This is a big bug by any-ones standards and it is rather articulated in that all of the legs move when you push it along. This is one of (Probably.) the biggest of the bug vehicles at the moment and it is designed so that it can be the bug heavy artillery weapon. It has a back section on it's abdomen that holds egg like canisters that it can fire like a catapult into the Galaxy Squad lines. These break open to release small baby bugs that could cause havoc to our Galaxy Squad troops as they advance or just sit around the camp fire? This is quite a powerful catapult so no firing it at people! The big bug also has a couple of ray guns that look like they could be used as AA weapons to take down those Blue team flyers! There is one other main feature and that is the legs moving mechanism which is a large part of the build. All the legs move and it looks pretty creepy I will tell you. I have to admit that if I had this as a child I would probably have been a little unnerved by it as it looks so real. But having said that it is an excellent build and well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 70708 Hive Crawler 70708 Hive Crawler Here is my review for 70708 Hive Crawler: Right off, before you read the rest of this review, I have to say that this set is completely awesome. All the pieces are great with many rare pieces for collectors and MOCers (My Own Creation). Plus the leg mechanism and the larva egg launching system just add to the greatness. However, no set can be perfect, and with this one it's the price and minifigure count. The set only includes 3 minifgures (versus the average 5+ minifigures for $69.99+ sets) and the price doesn't help it. If I was to assign this set a price I would say between $54.99 (kind of a strange number) and $59.99. Imagine the poor Canadians though, they've got it even rougher. :-( Here are the Pros and Cons: Pros: Lots of rare pieces Great functions Well detailed minifgs (by the way the larvae are great!) Cons: Price Minifig count Here are my number ratings for the 3 Lego Fan age groups: (Child Fan Of Lego, Teenage Fan Of Lego, Adult Fan of Lego) CFOL: 8.5/10 The legs can be somewhat delicate... TFOL: 9.4/10 Lots of nice pieces for MOCs AFOL: 9.0/10 Nice pieces for collectors (especially the eyes!) My Rating (for me): 9.5/10 Lots of great pieces and functions! (I can't complain about the price because, well... I didn't pay for it.
