Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth it!! This is the perfect way to teaching a toddler the alphabet, they get to do a fun puzzle and learn the alphabet at the same time. The only thing that would make it better would be if once all the pieces were put in, it would sing the song. Definitely worth getting especially if your kid loves to not listen to you when you're trying to teach them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I will not buy this again I was so disappointed with the puzzle this time. The stickers on the puzzle pieces are crooked and at the edge of the peices. I was shocked because we have bought only Melissa and Doug puzzles for years. what has happened to the good quality we used to get?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not impressed Bought for our son how ever the sounds are not very clear at all and the pictures on the letters are really not that visually pleasing, it would have been ok without the pictures under the letters too actually. Most of the issue we have is with the unclear sound, its sitting on the shelf collecting dust now. It could have been better for the amount of money it costs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from puzzle When I got this for my son, I thought this will make a lot of different sounds but it's just an ordinary alphabet puzzles. it doesn't give kids a lot of choices in one item. So, if you prefer to have a toys with more music this is not the one you should buy, they are just ordinary sound puzzle not music. the price is pretty high compare to a v-tech with make a music and sound together. not impress

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sound is defective after dropping We've gone through 3 sets. Each time my son dropped the tray, the sound didn't work regularly. My sister bought it for my son, when the sound didn't work, we returned to the store, not once, but twice and finally we just asked for a return. It's fun when it works but its not well made to handle the impact with toddlers. We love all of M and D products but this was an inferior product in turns of the sound piece.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointing - low quality I was very disappointed in this product. The sound quality is very low and garbled. Even worse, the letters only work randomly. Sometimes it will say a letter without any interaction. Usually it won't say a thing at all. The sound quality is the worse part. I switched batteries a few times to ensure that wasn't the problem and there was no difference. I will be returning this and the similar unopened numbers puzzle I bought as a gift for a friend. Hopefully mine was a malfunctioning unit as most Melissa & Doug products I've encountered are higher quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love it, but the sound doesn't work We just bought this yesterday and was so excited to get home so she can play with it. I notice right away half of the letters didn't work on it.. By tonight none of the letters are working on it. I change the batteries out and everything. It's still usable but for the price you think the sound would work. My daughter just turned 2 and knows most of her ABC and she knows where to put all the letters at.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I was disappointed with this puzzle. I have other Melissa and Doug puzzles and they are great. I noticed that the material used was more "cardboardy" than other puzzles. The edges bend very easily. Also the audio that states the letter and word is very garbled and almost uncomprehensible. I took the batteries out since my daughter cannot understand what the puzzle is saying. However, my daughter is really enjoying the puzzle and she is learning her letters since I sit with her and explain the letter and word to her.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed in this product. I purchased this product for my grand daughter as a birthday gift. When it was opened, the paper peeled off the letters and places on the board itself. I was so embarassed. Please either refund me back the money or give me one that is not destroyed and useless. I am really disappointed in this product. E-mail: Examsdchogan[@]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alphabet puzzle! We love this puzzle! As a former teacher, I appreciate the correct phonetics used when Melissa & Doug chose what words to express each letter. My son has loved playing with it time and time again. From his first birthday until now, almost three. He echo's the puzzle sounds and I do as well to encourage communication and I'll sing the ABC's as we do this puzzle. Then ask him to hand me certain letters. It's great!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Puzzle but Poor Sound Quality I ordered this a few weeks ago and received it in the mail today. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The quality of the sound is very poor. It sounds very muffed and hard to understand. I tried changing the batteries but it didn't help. My son does love the puzzle so that is all that matters. We have lots of Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles and have been very happy with them. I just thought because of the brand and the price it would be better quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad sound quality I thought this would be a nice, high quality item for my three year old to learn the alphabet. I am sorry to say that I was very disappointed when we put the batteries in and heard the sound quality. You can make out the letter they are pronouncing but not what the letter is standing for. I feel that it was a waste of [$] (aka 1 hrs worth of work).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful and Fun Learning Toy I bought this for my son who was 18 months at the time, and he loved it! He knew his ABC's by the time he was 20 months! He loves doing his "letters" and loves pointing out letters wherever we go. He just turned 2, and we are already working on reading! This is a wonderful puzzle that my son can play with over and over.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better without the sound My son likes this puzzle but when I put the batteries in, we were disappointed with the audio quality (tinny sounding, abrupt, unpleasant and unclear speaking voice - no music). I think he was confused and liked it better without the sound so I took the batteries out. I also found that when we turned the light off in the room or if something was put on top of the puzzle, it would talk unexpectedly. This was irritating and I'm glad we didn't have it in his room at night when he was drifting off to sleep. Without the batteries, this puzzle is fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT ALPHABET SOUND PUZZLE My two year old daughter loves sound puzzles and this is a great way to learn our ABC's.
Date published: 2009-07-04
Rated 4 out of 5 by from lots of fun The only bad thing is you have to make sure you keep all the pieces in the puzzle otherwise some frequencies--such as light switches will "activate" the sound of the missing letters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great learning tool, BUT. . . I was truly disappointed when my 2 year old grandson was able to peel off the paper pictures on the letters. He loves the puzzle, but I would rather have had plain painted letters than paper pictured ones which are now plain. A great learning toy, but not well thought out when you consider it is for tots!
