Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthy Investment! I bought this book for my oldest daughter (hoping it would be good enough to keep for my younger daughter as well) on the recommendation of some fellow mothers. My ten year old keeps picking it up from the coffee table to read a little more. We actually had a mature discussion about what to expect when her menstrual cycle starts, who to talk to, how it makes girls feel and more. I highly recommend this book to anyone who interacts with girls experiencing puberty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best book of it's type My daughter absolutely loves this book. It's been hugely educational and also been the starting point for some great conversations and some pretty educated questions coming from a ten year old! I cannot recommend this book highly enough - when I think back to myself at this age, she's educated, not afraid of the changes puberty will bring, not afraid to ask questions about anything without getting flustered and embaressed, and just plain comfortable with being a pre-teen girl. Awesome book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must read for tweens! This book allowed me to discuss a whole range of body issues for girls with the focus being on hygiene, body image and self esteem -not sexual activity. Extrememly valuable and age appropriate for 8-11 year olds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from READ IT!!! I am at the age when we started to bloom. I hade no clue what to expect and didn't know how to take care of myself at my age. It made me want to explore more what life is about and how to do things properly. It has very personal things in there and is a great place to learn about it. I actually learned how to choose bras sizes now. I got the perfect bra and am happy where I first looked. Puberty is one of the hardest things in life for girls. You discover more and more. This book made me feel more comfortable about growing up. Now I know what to expected when.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from encouraging I read this book with my daughter, and now i think she really understands puberty. It was very informative, at times serious, and creative. It wasnt too grown up, and it wasnt too immature-it was perfect. If I could have had this book when i was 12, my puberty stages would have been a lot easier! 2 thumbs up!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INCOURAGES TALK My 9 year old daughter started to blossom , but had absolutely no interest in talking about life . In fact she would get mad when I tried to initiate conversation. This book was recommend by a Chapters employee and it has turned out to be the best. Not only is it geared towards her age group, as she reads the sections, she is coming to me with questions and we are able to talk about whatever subject she happens to be reading about. It covers everything from cleanliness to what will happen to her body over the next few years. TWO THUMBS UP

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Parent This is an excellent book as a back up to a young girl's introduction to her body and its awakening. I spoke first to my oldest daughter about her body and the changes she can expect and/or was experiencing and then gave her the book to have as a reference. She used it quite often and I am sure it gave her a better sense of self and comfort with who she was becoming. Wonderful book and now part of my second daughter's library!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Care &Keeping of You:The Body Book for Gir Hi my name is Mayah and I am 10 years old. I loved this book because it was perfect for my age and older kids. It was perfect because it told kids about puberty. It told them exactly what they needed to know in perfect words for kids! It also told you about hair and how to keep yourself clean. They told it in an inspiring way for girlie girls. When my mom told me to do all the stuff to keep me clean, I didn't like taking baths or anything like that, for some reason that book inspired me to do all the stuff my mom told me to do because; it was a book for girls, the pictures stood out by the way they were drawn and they were so cool. I could have just seen myself in the mirror doing that stuff that they were doing in the book. It told you what to do and what not to do like do's and don'ts. All my friends loved that book and I think whoever wrote it wrote a really good book for girls like me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommended I perfect place to start! Ideal for pre-teen (9, 10, 11) girls. My daughter read it from cover to cover like a mystery novel. It opened the lines of communication between mother and daughter. Pictures were great. Have recommended it to other mothers and all (mothers and daughers) have been very pleased.
