Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Middle School This book is a good read for a reluctant reader. The format of the graphic novel helps the reader to stay engaged with the text. This book is a story driven by the plot. The characters are somewhat static. However this is in keeping with a book that is designed to catch reluctant readers. The main character, Coraline, is part of an adventure that is somewhat odd and a little frightening. She is able to find her way out of danger and get back to her real life. There is just enough suspense and scariness to make a middle school reader happy.
