Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pictures Of The Past The Little House On The Prairie books are fun to read, no matter what your age. They give you a wonderful look into the past. You picture everything as you read it, and this makes you realize the differences of family life then and now. I was give this set of books when I was young, and they're something I'd like my kids to read. You can see the way families were. The way Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote was amazing. You got the feeling you were there as it happened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ~*~An Epic of Great Proportion~*~ I recently read 'Little House on the Prairie' and was amazed at at how wonderfully written it was. It told the story of Laura Ingalls Wilder, which she herself wrote. Well, I was reading it i couldn't believe how descriptive it was. When I had finished the book I felt as though Laura was a close friend, I felt as though i have known her my entire life. It was written in such a way that I could actually feel what she felt, whenever she was scared, I could feel her fear. I absoulutly loved this book and I recommend it to everyone, doesn't matter your age. I'd give it 10 stars but i could only give it 5. I loved this book, it is my favorite book and I hope many others enjoy this book as much as I have!!

About the Author

Laura Ingalls Wilder was born in 1867 in the log cabin described in Little House in the Big Woods. She and her family traveled by covered wagon across the Midwest. Later, Laura and her husband, Almanzo Wilder, made their own covered-wagon trip with their daughter, Rose, to Mansfield, Missouri. There, believing in the importance of knowing where you began in order to appreciate how far you've come, Laura wrote about her childhood growing up on the American frontier. For millions of readers Laura lives on forever as the little pioneer girl in the beloved Little House books.
