Rated 3 out of 5 by from interactive fun but expensive Great game and has a lot of different levels of difficulties. Not to be played by young kids. I just find that the price is really high

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE classic co-op board game As co-operative games go, this one is essential, in my opinion, to anyone's collection. Good, tense fun!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good but simple Pretty good game - I like the uniqueness of working collaboratively. However I find that it tires out pretty quickly after you beat the game once. On top of that, it's pretty hefty price given the simplicity of the game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun board game with a twist! Usually with board games, you are playing against other people but with Pandemic, you're working with them! A very fun twist to games and you're really working together to all win and fight the disease. Totally recommend it and can't wait to play again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could be played alone Great idea for a game, and it's fun to play, but my only nitpick is that you don't necessarily need more than one player, even though this game is designed for multiple players. It's very easy for one player to play for multiple people, which makes it less fun in terms of teamwork.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely a blast The great thing about this game is that you play together against the cards, so if you've got some friends that are sore losers, you can still play this with them. It involves just the right combination of strategy and chance to make every game interesting. You can also modify the difficulty of the game by adding more "epidemic" cards to the deck based on your expertise. All I'd advise is that you keep an eye on the disease cubes because they're small and can go missing. #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game! There's a reason why this game is so popular with so many expansions available. Very fun to play, its a more cooperative game and requires a lot of strategic thinking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game I really enjoy this game, it's nice to have a cooperative game sometimes rather than a competitive one. It's fun and can be played at varying levels of difficulty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game Bought this game for my boyfriend as a gift. We played it together, and it was really fun. It isn't a difficult game to learn, but it is very helpful if you watch a YouTube video of the game play. As another reviewer mentioned, the rules does sort of make things a bit complicated and confusing. #plumreview

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good beginner game that's a bit too simple but improves with expansions Pandemic is a cooperative game. This means the game gives obstacles to the players the overcome together. The theme of Pandemic is that the players are a team with various skills trying to prevent the spread of deadly diseases over the world. The "AI" of the game which you are working against consists of a deck of cards. Players flip over a certain number based on the state of the game. The cards can cause outbreaks and various bad things to happen around the world. If you can stay ahead of the outbreaks and cure the diseases then you will be victorious. At it's heart, Pandemic is a set collecting and trading game where players aquire colored cards. They must exchange and spend them efficiently to travel around to various cities to prevent outbreaks and eventually cure the diseases. This is a light, fun game for beginner gamers; the new printing looks very nice and has good components. As with any cooperative game, sometimes a more vocal player can ruin the fun by telling everyone what to do and basically playing a solo game. If you can avoid this happening with your play group and let people make their own moves then you'll have a better time. The base game is very simple (maybe too simple) and after a few plays you might be soon interested in trying one of the expansions. Fortunately the difficulty can be tweaked higher as you become more experienced beating the beginner level. The current expansions are: "Pandemic: On the Brink", "Pandemic: In the Lab", and "Pandemic: State of Emergency". The expansions expand the player count and things like mini lab which gives a new way to cure diseases and a bio-terrorist role which is like a traitor working against the players.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Family Time Game I love to play board games but my husband does not. I have a teenager in the house who is extremely competitive. Pandemic was a big hit, as you have to work together and you're not trying to ruin some one else's game play, which was so different than the other games we play (like Ticket to Ride which I always lose at because I don't like having to cut off people's train routes). The game generates a lot of conversation and strategy planning between the three of us, and it was very satisfying to win together. The game is actually very good at teaching kids geography as well, playing with a world map and city cards which have country and population listed on them (just as flavour text, not relevant to game play). There is good replay value, as the random role card you obtain once per game allows you to experience fairly different game play each time. The random outbreaks on the board make each play through very exciting. If you are trying to convince family member(s) to play I would suggest watching a Youtube video to understand how it plays and learn yourself first, then play a "practice" teaching game, as reading the rules to everyone makes it sound very complex which in fact it is not. The game's difficulty can be adjusted each time by the number of Epidemic cards you include in the deck. This new edition has much nicer board pieces and two extra role cards (roles determine what your primary responsibility is in the group).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from at the end of the day it's nice to work together to beat the game instead of against each other! I really like this game and am even willing to forgo my show to play this with my husband. I even agreed to play this when I had a headache. I just want to rid the world of disease :) ! Highly recommended for spouses out there with highly competitive gamers for partners! My eight year old son enjoys it too.
