Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game for board game beginners I bought this for my four years old son, and he absolutely loves it! I wanted to introduce him to board game as I believe board games are good for teaching kids strategies and the concept that you don't always win. This game is easy enough for him to understand the rules, at the same time it does requires strategies... it's also very well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toddlers favourite We have several games for the toddler/preschooler in our house but this is the favourite. It is cute and fast to play. Our child loves to tweezers shaped like a squirrel. This has been played many times and is still going strong. Minimal setup time is great for the excited kid who just wants to play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game I bought this for my 2.5 year old and she loves it, is always asking to play it. She is learning how to take turns and even how to be a good sport about losing. There is a tiny bit of strategy in the game as well which she hasn't quite grasped. The games are quick too and there is little to set up the game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the game, not the spinner Love the game, but the spinner is warped. I have emailed customer service and hope it can be replaced. A flat spinner will make the game so much more enjoyable. My 3 year old loves the game though so we struggle through it often.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems in gameThat make it hard to operate At first glance this is great! However when trying to play for the first time ::::no instructions. Okay. Had to google. Irritating but can move on. Then ...spinner is warped. Ever time it's flicked it lands on the two warped spots. Makes the game impossible to play. At all. Very disappointed momma and kids. Shameful cheap short cut using that flimsy cardboard and ruining the game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from She just loves it! It's so fun for my toddler to play and learn with. It is teaching her good skills. As a parent one thing that bothers me is the flimsy design of the spinner wheel. It bends way too easily which makes the spinner not work correctly. Overall I love it though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kids favourite! Our kids ranging in age from 2-7yo all love this game. It is very easy to play, doesn't last too long, and they love the spot where you "sneak" a piece from another player! Lots of laughs and family fun. Often chosen first when friends come over too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great beginner game This was the first game we bought our child at 4 years old and he's loved it every since. Our three year doesn't quite get it yet, but still enjoys putting the acorns in. We could happily play this game daily. It's a great choice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so much fun I have so much fun playing this with my three year old I had to buy another game as a gift for his cousin! =) It is great for counting and colors and he absolutely loves when he lands on the sneaky squirrel and gets to steal my acorns. =) Unfortunately our spinner came apart and we have lost the bottom half. I would love to buy a replacement but haven't been able to find an option for that anywhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great game but.... We borrowed this game from a friend and my son enjoyed it so much, we just went out to buy our own. As soon as we got home he was excited to play. I was very disappointed when we opened it and he looked at the logs and told me the place for the red acorn is actually orange! He is correct! This can be quite confusing for children just learning their colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Customer Service My 3 year old LOVES this game , and it's so simple. My compliment goes to the company and the customer service though. My daughter lost an acorn so I called to try to find a replacement expecting to pay for the acorn and shipping. When I said I was missing a blue acorn she asked my name and address and simply said we will get it out in the mail. NO CHARGE! and no hassle. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I will keep coming back to this company and buy their games to support this type of company. Thank you !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super great game The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel Game is a great game for 2.5 years+. This game holds my 3 year old childs attention and keeps him actively engaged. He loves the robber and when the wind blows off all the pieces. The colour matching and tweezers are age appropriate and encourages great skill. Its also fun for parents too. Easy set up- take out the spinner and logs- done. As an ECE I recommend this game to friends and family.

It takes about 10 mins to play one game. Really easy instructions. Easy to follow game play. It moves at a nice pace so no one gets bored waiting for their turn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best First Game First board game for my three year old, and a Christmas gift for the whole family. Love it, especially the fact that if a nut got lost or someone bumps the board, it is still playable. Easy to understand. Easy to clean up. Fun for the whole family. Really cute! Thanks for designing this game!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good for color matching! The red acorn is red. However, the spot to put the red acorn on the log is orange as orange gets! Very confusing to my 3 year old who knows his colors well. He didn't want to put the red in the orange. Other than that, it would be a great game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My boys favourite game! My 3 boys, aged 6 and 4 year old twins, LOVE this game. Its so simple for them to play but still entertaining.....and I can't get these guys to sit for anything! However, they will sit and play this game over and over. By far the best game, or even best toy I have ever bought for them. I went out today and bought two more games made by the same company. They also learn from them as well and they don't even realize it which is a huge bonus. I highly recommend this game, and Id even purchase it as a gift for their school teachers for the classroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great game for little kids I bought this game for my daughter when she turned 3. She is almost 5 now and she still loves this game. It's simple to learn and keeps kids engaged. The games are short and the pictures on the spinner make it easy to understand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality made, fun and exciting for younger children. How wonderful to see a game that is actually so sturdy it will last for years of constant use and not break down! My 12 year old son has Down syndrome and absolutely loves this game. It took us quite a while to play, each time we did, as we all kept losing the acorns to the wind! A good game for coounting, not just your own pieces, but everyone else's to see who is winning! Good for discussions, weather-the wind blew the acorns, what else does it blow? Heavy/light things etc? Feelings, squirrel is sad because he lost his acorns, what else makes us sad,/happy/angry etc. Stealing acorns, just for fun, musn't steal in real life, etc. Lots to talk about while playing, all within the context of the game. Lots of good fun hours of quality with the kids. Though my son is a little old for this, he is really into competition and loves playing with his friends and siblings. Colors are vibrant and squirrel squeezy is good for eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. I wouold definitely recommend this for younger children, especially since it does not need any reading skills and, once they know to play they can feel big about their own independance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I received this set as a sample for review. We love this game! There are so few games for kids this age so I was really excited when this came to our house. First impression was how beautiful and well made the game is. The design is lovely, the cardboard pieces are thick and study, the squirrel is easy for little hands to grasp and squeeze, and the acorns have a little squish to them which my two year old loves! Though the rules are simple my toddler isn't very interested in them quite yet. She really enjoys using the squirrel to pick up the acorns and matching the acorn colors to the holes in the logs. When the newness and novelty wears off a bit we'll try taking turns and following the rules of the game. I definitely recommend this game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and effective This is a very cute game that is simple, basic and age appropriate for 3-5 year olds. It's not glitzy and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but that's what makes it great. It's a wonderful first board game for your child as the tweezers will force him or her to concentrate, follow basic instructions and fine tune those motor skills. It's not overwhelming and has few parts. Perfect for our distractable toddlers. It also serves as a good counting tool. I definitely recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from high quality simple game! the quality of the product is notable - box is durable and the pieces are made very well. my daughter is 4.5 years old and we played it a handful of times in a row with 2 of her friends. as they got used to the game it was cute to see them strategize and team up to take someone elses acorns when they landed on the sneaky squirrel to try and win. no one used the squirrel to actually pick up the acorns but it served as a nice decoration on the table to keep to the theme. i don't think this is a game to play for hours - it kept their attention for about 30 minutes. i love that mixed ages (3 to 5) could play together - simple yet engaging. i'd highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our 3 year old LOVES this game! We have a 3 year old daughter who loves this game. She knows her colors and matches well and we have begun to see her strategic mind work. She is looking out our pieces and trying to get the same colors "so you can't steal ones you don't have." This game is made very well and is something we will continue to play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A sneaky good time Our oldest (5) loves to play board games but it has been hard to find games that engage our 3 year old. This game is perfect for our family. There isn't a character to move across a board who gets bumped and loses its place. It is a lot of fun to watch the children work with the squirrel tweezer and master it. It is fast paced with the a spinner, not cards, because the game play moves very quickly which keeps our younger competitor engaged. It's also the luck of the draw so everyone has an equal opportunity to win.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome game for 3 year olds! This is such a great game with cute, durable game pieces and graphics. My daughter loves playing this game and it has greatly improved her communication skills, taking turns, and ability to play with others. Even my 1 year old baby loves to play with the pieces and to touch and feel everything. He is attracted by the bright and colorful visuals and loves playing with the squirrel tweezers. I don't have to worry that the board or parts will break or fall apart because everything is constructed so well. I definitely recommend this game for the little ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable game! This game is adorable! My daughter is almost 2 1/2 which is a little young for following the directions but I can see her quickly growing Into this game. She practiced her colors which she is still working on and loved matching the acorns color to the color on the tree trunk. She was able to use the squirrel with both hands and with one hand with help. This will be great for encouraging fine motor skills and color recognition. She begged and begged to play with this again and again which is great for her learning to take turns too as we played.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great concept building game This toy was sent to me by educational insights in return for an honest review. My daughter is 30 months. This game is really cute, however it is not appropriate for children under 3. I'm a child development specialist and I was surprised that this was sent for my 2 year old. It is not expected for a child under 3/3.5 to be able to play a simple board game. We tried anyway, and she enjoys the concept of the game. She understands to use the squirrel to pick up the acorns and enjoys color matching. However, she doesn't truly understand the rules of the game. It will be a great toy for her in a few months. In the meantime she continues to play with this game and we are working on some great skills. We take turns picking up the acorns and we can work on color matching. She is building upon her fine motor skills by using the squirrel to pinch and pick up small objects. I would say this is a great game for children 3-5. My 4 year old niece came over and played with it and loved it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for the whole family! This is such a cute and fun for the whole family type of game! Players take turns on the spinner and whatever it lands on affects your move (get acorns, steal acorns, lose acorns, etc...). The goal is to grab enough matching colored acorns to fill up your log. A great way to teach kids about matching colors as well as taking turns. Even the way you grab the acorns with a squirrel shaped squeezer was so much fun and I can see this in helping develop my 3 1/2 yr. old daughter's fine motor skills. Additionally, I really loved the style of art on all the pieces and board, as if it was all hand-drawn and painted. We will definitely be playing this game a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Board Game ! My kids love this game. I have a 2 year old and 5 year old. I love how strong the material used to make this game is. Very durable. Only downside is the squirrel tool used to get the acorns are hard for both my kids to use. They just used their hands to grab the acorns. I think when they are older they can modify the game and use the squirrel to get the acorn as part of the game rules. Great game overall !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My preschoolers favorite game! This comes packaged in a very sturdy tree shaped box that is also used as a game board. It is a favorite game amongst the preschool-aged children I care for. The 3 and 5 year old were able to teach the 2 year old fairly easily how to play the game. Taking turns is not easy, and it was definitely a skill that was learned through this game. They learned matching and counting skills by collecting the correct number or the specific color acorn to the spot on the cute little tree stump. They also develop fine motor skills by spinning the spinner and picking up the acorn with the fun "squirrel squeezer" (their favorite!). Sometimes they have to skip a turn which also helps them develop good sportsmanship. We love this game. I think It would make a good gift for either boy or girl between the ages of 3-7

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great game for my 3 year old! Great game for teaching color recognition, how to take turns and follow directions. My son loves when it is his turn to use the snaky squirrel to pick up his acorns!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My three year old's favorite game! Our family loves this game! As parents we love the design, the colors, the durability, and the fact that an entire round can be played in a short amount of time! My 3 year old loves using the squirrel to pick up the acorns and her 10 year old brother loves playing with her, especially when she spins the wind choice and her acorns all blow back into the box! The quality of this game is wonderful, as so many of the games in our closet have broken in the first few days of play. There's no cheap plastic to deal with and the box that is used for play is very sturdy. I know our family will enjoy this game for years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4-yr old enjoys playing this My four year old daughter loves this game - grabbing for acorns entertains her. She gets to reinforce her learning of colors, which is an added bonus. It is also a great way to teach her how to play fairly (even when it means losing an acorn). I find the materials well made and very cute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Times All Around! I received this game from Educational Insights in exchange for an honest review. My three year old and I really enjoyed playing this game. The pieces were well made and keeping the acorns in the bottom of the box (the tree) was an awesome idea since we seem to lose pieces frequently to other games/puzzles. My child had trouble the first time holding the squirrel and collecting the acorn but the more she used it, the better she got. This game reinforces colors, fine motor skills, and the concept of taking turns. Although my daughter couldn't quite understand why she had to put her acorns back when she landed on that corresponding space on the spinner, once we added a fun sound effect she didn't seem to mind. I really like the fact that this is a game we can come back to over and over again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Fun for Everyone!" Here is another game by Educational Insight that is fabulous. My preschool students look forward to when they get to be the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel and take acorns from a friends tree stump. While doing this they are learning: counting skills, matching, color recognition, symbol concepts, taking turns, and sorting. Using the Squirrel as tweezers helps to build their small motor muscles, supporting them for when they need to hold a pencil correctly. I have found for some of my students, it is a challenge to pick up the acorns with the squirrel. Through practice they are determined to master it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great game for therapy I've used this in speech therapy and behavior therapy sessions weekly since I purchased it over a year ago. Here's what I like: Because it's simple, it is a great starter game for 3 year olds or children who are functioning below their chronological age. It's great for teaching children the foundations for game playing: attending, waiting, motor actions of using the parts, and taking turns. It does elicit some foundational concepts of sportsmanship. The players may lose, steal or gain acorns quickly and it changes often. Therefore, it isn't like a board game where when you get behind, you stay behind for potentially a long time. It helps the young players keep pace and vary emotions. Simple learning concepts that it addresses: Colors - labels, identification and matching Social skills - turn taking, good sportsmanship Fine motor skills/pre-handwriting - grasping acorns (placing lightly in tree trunk versus shoving in, picking up acorns with the squirrel) Math - counting, simple addition/subtraction Game strategy - choosing color to steal or take as acorns when player lands on 1-2 acorns of choice Requesting- player has to request a turn, squirrel or spinner. For children who are nonverbal and using PECS, I have an icon made for each of the items needed so that they can use PECS (or iPad/Proloquo2Go) to request the items needed. Learning coping - "no big deal" when you lose an acorn or turn (storm, sneaky squirrel, sad squirrel). Parents and therapists can model the "no big deal, it's just a game" in addition to talking about the feelings. Expanded of the game to be used as part of learning a bigger thematic unit: Squirrels, acorns Stealing - use the concept from this fun "squirrel" way to discuss realistic scenarios Emotions - sad (squirrel), feeling when someone takes your acorn or you take theirs, feeling when you lose a turn - match these feelings to emotion words (frustrated, sad, guilty, etc.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a fun game This was a huge hit with all 3 of my kids (ages 2,4, and 5). The squirrel was easy for them to hold and they were all able to pick up the acorns and place them in the appropriate spots. My kids have asked to play this game every day since we got it. They absolutely loved landing on the sneaky squirrel--it was a fun way for them to 'steal' from their mom. I would completely recommend this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Family Gives This 5 STARS! There is nothing better than a NEW game for game night! We were very excited to receive this gift and my three year old son could not wait to play! My husband, son, and I played this game and we all loved it for many reasons. First impressions: 1. The game comes in a very sturdy box, so there is not chance that the box will get ruined or squished easily. 2. The game is very colorful and detailed and all the game pieces are also sturdy and well made. These things make it enticing for a 3 year old and because it so well made... the pieces won't break easily. 3. I loved how the acorns came in a resealable baggie so the small (but not too small!) pieces can be stored in there. While playing: 1. As an educator, I felt this game was perfect for ages 3+. It worked on fine motor skills, counting, color recognition, taking turns and of course, parents can teach their child how to be a good winner and a good loser, too. 2. My son loved this game! The directions were very easy to understand and he was able to remember what each of the spinner spots represented. Surprisingly, he was ok when an acorn was taken from him or his turn was skipped - because it was just part of the rules! 3. As mentioned above, this game is great for improving fine motor skills. My son had a little trouble working the squirrel (like a tweezer) at first, but after a few turns he got it. Maybe there could be a more defined hand grip on the squirrel. He just couldn't get a comfortable grip at first. But this tiny "con" did not change my 5 star rating! All and all, this game definitely earns 5 stars from my family! It will definitely become part of my "Birthday Gift List" for future friends' parties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great family game! I bought this game for my four year old daughter and both her and my two year old son love it! They want to play it almost every day. It is well built, durable, and teaches kids counting, colors, taking turns, and fine motor skills, but is still lots of fun for the whole family! Thanks for the great game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for little kids! We bought this for my 3-year old daughter and she loves playing it! At first I was worried all of the different options would be too complicated for her (miss a turn, wind, steal, etc...) but she really likes it! We have to explain sometimes, and most times she just wants to pick the purple acorn, regardless of what was spun, but we all have a good time while playing. I highly recommend this game for toddlers. It made a great gift!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of fun! We bought this game for our three year old, she absolutely loves it. The game is simple enough that she can understand how to play and it doesn't require a long time to play, so no fear of losing her attention. This game is lots of fun, would highly recommend it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from short game for small children My granddaughters love this game. It only takes about 15 minutes to play one game, which is great for my adhd granddaughter. Acorns are easy to lose and I can't find replacements for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Family Game Its hard to find a game that can be played by a four year old and be fun for an adult but this game is great. We can play it a few times over and still enjoy it. We have tried many classic kid games and they all seem to disappoint. They are either being too boring or too hard. This one is perfect. We will be giving this game as a gift to the other kids in our lives too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Game for my 3 year old This game is great for my 3 year old. It was a Christmas gift. We are learning to take turns, work on fine motor skills and reinforce colors and numbers. A bit concerned the playing pieces will not be durable enough to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game My almost 3yr old got this for Christmas and he loves it!  Simple but yet entertaining, although he doesn't like when bandit squirrel comes to steal the acorns!  He's already getting the hang of using the squirrel to pick up the acorns.  Great fine motor skills and cute game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great game for young and old! The aim of the game is simple - spin the spinner and collect the coloured acorns. The first player to collect all 5 of their acorns wins! As well as having colours on the spinner there are also special squares which could mean you get to pick up more acorns or lose those you have already collected. The game is aimed at children aged 3-7 and I would agree with this age range. I would say though that younger children may struggle to pick up the acorns with the squirrel as it is quite large and the acorns are quite small and fiddly to get into the logs. 2-4 players can play at any one time. In the box you get 20 coloured acorns, 4 logs, the spinner and a squirrel which you use like tweezers to pick up the acorns. The bottom half of the box is the 'tree' where you put the acorns which I thought was a great idea as it means they are not going all over the floor/underneath furniture! I do think the price is on the high side for a board game of this simplicity, however, the pieces provided are great quality, even the box is very strong and has lovely pictures on. It is certainly much better quality than other board games on the market and this is reflected in the price. The game teaches colour matching and fine motor skills together with teaching your child about turn taking and sharing. We were sent this game free of charge for the purpose of review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HUGE hit! My son is just shy of three years old. He really won't sit still for games so I asked my friends for some game advice. Anyone who owned the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game higly recommended it. I received it in the mail and as soon as I opened the package my son was all about it. We opened it and I read the directions. It was very easy to understand and the rules made sense to my son as well. We played for over an hour straight that night! Since then he asked to play the game almost daily. He understands it, it's fun for him, and it keeps his attention for a good amount of time. Big hit around here!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent First Game As a Montessori teacher and mother of 7, I have seen quite a few preschool games in my time. This game is by far the best one I have come across. I gave it to my 2-1/2 year old granddaughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. She can't follow all the rules yet but she can coordinate the squirrel and the game is helping her to learn her colors. She understands the concept of taking turns and spinning the spinner before she selects an acorn but doesn't always select what the spinner indicates. She plays it her own way and we all have lots of fun playing with her. She is also working on just matching the acorn colors to their corresponding holes. It is educational on so many levels, durable and fun too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A perfect first game! My 4 year old really enjoys this game. It is pretty simple but the cute graphics/accessories (squirrel tongs and little acorns) add to the appeal. As a parent, I much prefer it to Candy Land and a few other games, as it seems to be more fast-paced (and less mind-numbing).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Early Learners! My four year old loves this game. The product is well made and by far the sturdiest game I've ever played with. I love that we have to use the Squirrel to pick up the acorns because we have been working on my son's fine motor skills and this is a fun way to build up his hand muscles. This is going to be my go to gift for my son's younger friends. It teaches early skills such as colors, matching, build fine motor skills, taking turns, and learning how to be a good winner and a good loser. My son wanted to play again and again after the first time we played and this time we, the parents, weren't bored out of our mind. Also, it is good for young children because it doesn't take long to play and can easily keep their attention. I really enjoyed this game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute and Quick Game! The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game is so cute! The squirrel squeezers and acorns are really high quality and make the game really interesting and fun for my boys. The loved trying their hand at grabbing the acorns with the squirrel squeezers! My 3 year old has a very short attention span towards games but the game was interesting enough for him that he lasted the full round, and even won! The more complex actions kept the game interesting for me and my 5 year old so it we all had a great time playing together. *Note, I received a copy of this game for free to review on my website, A Mom's Take. Opinions are my own*

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our all time FAVORITE game! I did a review of the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game and it is by far our family's favorite preschool game! We have had it for a few months now and the kids STILL talk about it and pull it out all the time to play. A fantastic game for developing fine motor skills and learning to color match as well as follow directions. BEST game ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for preschoolers and Familytime! I am all about games that are not only fun for my husband and I but that we can also play with our boys who are 3 and 4. Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel is one of those games. First off, the sturdy box it comes it actually acts as part of the gameboard, which is nice. There is no money to deal with or cards to read either which makes it perfect for young kids. The object of the game is to fill your log with all five colored acorns to feed the hungry squirrels in the winter! To play the game all you do is give each player a log piece which they have to fill with five acorns, dump all the acorns in the game box and then each player takes turn spinning the spinner to see what their move should be. The spots on the spinner are relatively simple: Pick an acorn of a specific color, Pick any 1 acorn, Pick any 2 acorns, Steal an acorn from another player, Skip your turn, and Loose all your acorns. You use adorable squirrel plastic tweezers, which are very simple and perfect for little hands. Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel is a game perfect for preschoolers to develop matching skills, develop fine motor skills, social skills of taking turns and strategic thinking skills. Kids are not only learning their colors, but learning decision making as they pick which acorn they need and learn good sportsmanship when their turn is skipped. It really is a cute game perfect for both boys and girls. My boys love the squirrel tweezers the best!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Game No replacement Parts My class loved the game but you cannot order replacement parts if any of the acorns get lost. So either fewer children get to play the game or it has to go in the trash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Game! My 3.5 year old daughter received this as a gift from a family member when her baby sister was born. It's a great game. It's fun, engaging and doesn't require any reading (or too much thinking for mom and dad). It's also nice that it's not complicated and I think that my daughter could teach her friends how to play it. It would be nice if there was more than one squirrel. I can see toddlers fighting over the one it came with. Overall it's great. My only real concern is how well the logs will hold up that you place your acorns in. They're made of strong cardboard/chipboard but toddlers have a way of being creatively destructive.
