Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Stomp of The Mammoth The Mammoth Stomper is an... Interesting set. Pros:Dual Vehicles Skeletal Color scheme Massiveness Jail cell Looks like a mammoth Flexible trunk Giant cannons on the flyer The hover pods Stable Love the flyer Cons:Stickers Hard to fit Mutrott's weapon in cockpit Lower legs are hollow Body is very blocky Flick missiles ( I wish they used the new spring loaded, i just don't like flick fire) Legs only go forward, not side to side AND forward The ice cage part, the minifigs just don't stay Small hero vehicle Mammoth heads are a little loose All in all, however this is a good set. it has it's flaws, all sets do, but i'm glad to have it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mammoths! I thought that this set was very cool because of it's size and the animal it's based on. The head of the mammoth stomper is very well done and so is the hidden detachable flyer. The legs are very long but the bases are a little flimsy because there are ball joints connecting them to the legs. The body of the mammoth is actually quite small and cramped for the minifigures-especially the vultures. To have better access you can open the skeletal ribcage and the side rotors of the mammoth flyer. In the back, the tail opens up and there is a prison with an ice piece to capture members of the fire alliance. For Worriz, there is a little snow speeder and that concludes the set. The minifigures are awesome!!!!!! I love the mammoths!!! I would recommend this set!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My son says its awesome My son loves this, it took him two days to build and that was after school. The instructions are very easy to follow, I love the way each page has a separate box for the parts needed on that page. All I needed to do was check his progress. As soon as he saw this advertised he wanted it, after seeing how fantastic it is and how much he wants to play with this and his other China sets, I would highly recommend it and will be getting him some good guys to battle against.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ultimate walker Several other reviews say this is the best Lego set ever made, and in some ways that is true. Though it doesn't exceed expectations, Maula's Ice Mammoth Stomper will leave fans beyond satisfaction. Where to start? The minifigs are as good as any other Chima set. Worriz- An updated version for fire vs ice. His gun is generic, but the printing compensates for that. Razar- With mine, the hook hand broke, but that was mostly my fault for trying to pry a weapon out of it the wrong way. Like many other fire vs ice minifigs, his old head and wings are put on top of a new body. Maule-The elephant head piece doesn't fit that well on the particular armor piece, but it's a good one. The tusks hamper the ability to have a swordfight, but it's a cool feature. Oh, and you can put a weapon in a clip on the trunk, though it won't stay in that well. Mottrot- In terms of piece usage, he's exactly the same as Maula, only he has the armor with the triangular shoulder blades. And the mammoth head fits nicely onto that one. Strainor- almost exactly the same as the one I already had with Eris' fir eagle, but he's still a good minifig. It's a shame that with Chima, many a great printing design is covered by armor. Vornon- I can't say too much about him. You may have noticed that with the fire vs ice villians, some have blue arms, some have blue legs, and some has both. Vornon has both. Although his gun isn't as fancy as some of the other chima weapons, it is much more playable. Many weapons are fancy but oversized, but this isn't. Worriz's vehicle is clearly inspired by snowmobiles, and would make a good polybag if it were sold seperately. However, it has zero weapons. Now for the mammoth. It will be rather easy to reenact the scene in Star Wars episode 5 when the snowspeeder ties up the AT-AT. The lower legs are attached by ball joints, so the flop around easily. But as long as you can deal with this, you'll be fine. I frankly think they should've had those click hinge things, but as you will see, the rest of the set makes up for it. The upper legs are attached to the body with one-direction click hinges, so the mammoth won't akwardly do the splits. There is a prison cage in the-dare I say-area under the tail, and I won't go into detail, but that is a creative place for a prison gage. There is a flip-down ladder that makes for great play, and in front is a regular cell door. Inside, it has the regular socket where you can "freeze" a minifigure in the ice. The head is well done. The trunk is fully flexible, and has a cannon on the end. The tusks don't curve like they do on real mammoths, but the piece choice is good. The ears are made of the sam ep iece used on Star Wars jedi interceptors, which (again) works well. The detachable flier is really original. Though this is something of a cliche withLego (really, toys in general), but the mammoth tribe would be the last one I'd expect to have such a thing-shouldn't that be for the vultures? But this is better than the watered-down ice vulture glider. First of all, it has 2 fan propellors to keep it in the air. Second, as long as he doesn't have his weapon, Mottrot fits in the cockpit perfectly. It fits onto the body well, and even though it wouldn't come as a surprise in firsthand combat, it's still a good feaature. Lego has used Chima to make several characters from the Ice Age movies-Manny as this mammoth, Diego as Sir Fangar's walker, and in the second one, there were vultures, so...... At any rate, this is a good set. I never make any distinguishions as to which set is the best ever, but who can deny this set is amazing? While many themes run out of steam inthe second or third year, Chima has remaine great for me. Lego, you did an excellent job with fire vs ic. Now how about dinosaurs?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hmm... Don't get me wrong...this is a good Lego set...but I really feel like the Lego group cut corners on this one. I know that they have to keep the cost down, by using less pieces, but there were a lot of places that seemed lacking of pieces, maybe a bit undetailed, or hollow. If future Lego sets could be improved, I would appreciate it. 6\10. :/

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegance and beauty A truly beautiful peace of Lego masonry, full credit to the design team! The value for money is good, You receive a lot more than You may expect, and I haven't even got to the good bit. It has so many delightful hidden features that make the set what it is, I still haven't found them all yet, after 2 days! The minifigures credit the set, again, with a lot more than you would expect. The height of The Mammoth Mech makes it loom above all other sets, and the rib cage certainly gives it lots of detail to make it look menacing. Overall I would fully recommend this to anyone whom desires to play or display something of true brick built brilliance and beauty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stomping its way through Chima! As a fan of mammoths and other ice age creatures, I was very excited when I saw this set and bought it immediately. It went way higher than my expectations! The minifigures: Worriz- In this set, Worriz wears a new fire garb. The printing on his torso is very intricate an well done, and the new fire chi piece on his armor is great. The printing on his face/ "mask" are the same as his older versions. His weapon is pretty standard, but it still looks good in his hand. Razar- Razar's torso is the same as Worriz's (except for the arms). Also like Worriz, Razar's "mask" and face are the same as his older versions. Razar's weapon is awesome; the new fire piece is extremely great! Mottrot- 1 of two mammoth minifigures in this set, Mottrot has some great printing. Like all of the icy villains in this theme, he also features some transparent, frozen limbs (an arm and a leg)! On top of that, he can hold weapons/accessories in the groove of his trunk. Also included with Mottrot is a gigantic weapon and some transparent armor. Maula- The second mammoth minifig in this set, Maula features a transparent leg and icy armor like Mottrot. She has great printing on her legs, torso, head, and "mask". Her trunk is able to hold accessories, and she comes with a giant cannon weapon. Strainor- Strainor has some great printing and a nicely sculpted "mask" piece. He too has a transparent leg, and the claw weapon he wields is a great new piece. Vornon- Unlike the rest of the minifigures in this set, Vornon doesn't have a double sided head. Nonetheless, he is a great minifigure. His purple head and mask compliment him nicely, and his transparent leg and arm look great with his transparent armor. Worriz's vehicle- Worriz's vehicle is a nice addition to the set. It rolls nicely across most surfaces, and has some nice details and pieces. Most importantly, it gives the good guys something to ride in their battle against the Mammoth Stomper! Maula's Ice Mammoth Stomper- The highlight of this set, the Mammoth Stomper has plenty of features. A minifigure can be placed in the head of the mammoth nicely. The trunk is very flexible and can be moved around in many different directions. The "ribs" of the mammoth can be opened to access weapons/tools, the central chi core of the vehicle, a jail door, a control panel, and space to place minifigures. In the back of the Mammoth Stomper is another barred door to access the jail with. Minifigures can be placed inside the jail/trapped inside a new ice piece! (Sadly, Razar can't be placed in the jail without taking of his wings). Best of all, a flying vehicle can be detached from the rest of the Mammoth Stomper. Under the wings of the vehicle are two flick-fire missiles that can be fired. The wings can also be moved up, down, and side-to-side. It's very easy to take the vehicle off/put it back on. A mini fig can also be easily placed in its cockpit. The two blasters on the front of the flying vehicle can be moved in all different kinds directions. The vehicle looks great on its own, but the Mammoth Stomper looks slightly unfinished without the flyer on its back. The legs are strongly built, and the heavy-duty ratchet joints on it's hips allow it to keep its poses considerably well. The body of the mammoth is very stable also. Although this set took a fair amount of time to build, it was very interesting to see the different techniques the designer incorporated into it. Overall, this is a great set with lots of play features. i recommend it to anyone who likes Chima and the Mammoth tribe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OMG a mammoth!!!!!!!! This is probably the best lego set I have ever bought. Ever. The new fire robes for Worriz(my favourite chima character) and Razar. I also love the new Saber-tooth, Vulture and MAMMOTH characters. This set comes with Worriz(wolf), Razar(raven), Maula+Motrott(Mammoths), Strainor(saber-tooth) and Vornon(vulture). The walker itself is a huge, walking, doom machine. I love the helicopter feature and the legs. I also love the head with the trunk and tusks. The set also comes with a small 'fire speedor' for Worriz. Even though I don't have any other summer 2014 sets, I would recommend the saber-tooth walker for strainor and maybe the fire-lion to have a big vehicle to fight. Overall I would rate this set: Mini figures=10/10 Features=9.5/10 OVERALL=10/10
