Rated 5 out of 5 by from My First Lego Star Wars Set This is my first Lego Star Wars set and I had so much fun building it. I mostly bought it for the mini figures, which contains Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala, and Jar Jar Binks. I especially love Queen Amidala with the amazing red dress and hairpiece. Lego did a good job translating the movie costume to mini figure. As for the ship itself, I specifically love the rotating tail and cockpit details. It was quite easy to build since it comes with numbered bags so we don't have to have the small pieces mixed together. This is a very good piece, so it's too bad that Lego discontinue it. Hope they will come up with something new soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good but different It's a very good set but so different than other Star Wars sets. This set is to play "underwater and all other sets are to play on earth or in the sky. So in my collection i play with all my lego star wars without this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bongo Sub! This Gungan Sub is fantastic! The build is very sturdy and easy to put together. It is pretty expensive for $70 but I was able to get it on sale for $40, which is a very good deal. There is room to put all three minifigures, though unfortunately Jar Jar Binks fits only in the back. I really liked the cargo containers and I wish there were more of them! The stickers are pretty realistic though of course I would have rather had printed bricks. The minifigures are really well designed, especially Padme. I only wish that Boss Nass had been included as this would have been a perfect set to include him in. Perhaps some printing on the cockpit bubbles would have been nice too. Overall a great set, but wait until it goes on sale. Thanks a million LEGO!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Impressive This Gungan Sub is a lot better than the 1999 one. The set has opening bubble cockpits, accessories, new pieces and heaps of features. I like how there is a mini sub in the set. It's at the back where the rotatable propellers are. The main cockpit can now seat three minifigs but the capes have to be removed and put into the other bubble areas. Both of the Jedi have double sided faces; one normal and one with a Jedi rebreather. This was a nice touch! Padme as Queen Amidala as finally appeared in LEGO form. Her headdress and hair is a rubber piece and Ashe has a new dress piece. Both pieces are incredibly detailed. She is the best minifigure in the set. All of the minifigures have double sided torsos. I would have liked a Boss Nass minifigure because the Queen shouldn't really be in the Sub set. The set was actually reasonably priced so it's definitely worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Set I think this is a great set and is well designed, the only problem I have with it is you have nowhere to put the queen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent set, for a premium - Excellent new design. I believe this is the first time Lego has designed a Gungan Sub - Well built, very sturdy. I don't play with my sets but I rated it highly since it's strong and would be easy for children to play with with small chance of falling apart. - Lego should introduce battery operated lights. This set would look amazing with glowing orange lights! - Highly overpriced. Worth it, but expensive for the 465 pieces. - 5 stars overall because despite the price, it's a beautiful addition to my collection! And of course, the price was obvious before it was purchased :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Better The new sub is sooo much better than the one in 1999, but then again, none of the lego star wars sets looked that good in 1999. This new sub is much more movie accurate though i wish they got rid of the two clear domes in the back. It is good the main cockpit holds 3 people in it just like the movie. The escape pod in the back is a nice touch. Jar Jar is the same, but Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon have double sided heads that have their underwater breathing devices on the one side. The Queen looks great but Ido not know why they put her with this set. She really does not belong here. The only big issue I have with this set is the price. It is way to high. It should only be about $60. If you have a $70 spending budget, I suggest you should go get maybe the new Sith ship instead. This set is not worth the price. Overall, good set, bad price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty Nice Set Overall, I like this set. I think it looks more like the movie version than the 1999 set (7161). The mini sub is a nice touch too. The minifigs with the breathing mask alternate sides make them collectable, but as for the Queen Amidala minifig, I think it should have come with legs instead of, or as well as the solid lower dress piece, so she can sit in the sub like the other minis.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I hate it This ship stinks.I hate it its not worth 69.99 its worth 29.99.The minifigures are neat but the ship isnt good not worth it. Ship 1/10 minifigures 8/10 i didnt enjoy the buy but the model is all right. You should buy a diffrent set maybe like jabbas palace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I just finished building this set and here are my thoughts Pros Its a big ship Detailed Cool Minifigures and escape pod Has a compartment to store lightsabers and capes Cons The comic in the back of manual #2 doesn't make any sense at all Cant put the queen anywhere Overall I love this set and it will be a good addition to your Lego Star Wars collection. END.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Escape the Treacherous Gungan Waters The new Lego Gungan Sub set is large and detailed, not to mention the fact that the redesigned minifigs help depict the atmosphere of the setting. The Gungan Sub has so many cool features including: The capability of detaching a mini-sub (very much like an escape pod) A rotating tail mechanism Opening cockpits (front cockpit alone can hold Jar Jar, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan)! Two cargo holds with containers for all kinds of storage Four flick-fire missiles are also included The set comes with four minifigures, all of which are special to this set. Jar Jar comes with a harpoon while both Obi Wan and Qui-Gon have dual faces which reveal breathing mouth pieces (a very neat addition). Queen Amidala is exclusive and new to this set. She is perfect for this set considering that she is one of the most important characters in Episode 1, The Phantom Menace. This set does not have an overwhelming amount of stickers, so if you are not a sticker person this set is still a plus! If you are a collector of Naboo or Gungan Legos this set is for you. It is really a fantastic improvement from the original Gungan Sub from 1999. The set has great playability, whether you enjoy action packed escapes from under sea monsters to serene visits to the Gungan leader. The set is ready for any kind of usage, even if you want to use it as a spaceship it can get the job done. This set has it all and is a very fine addition to the Star Wars Galaxy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Think before you buy Well, this set is pretty cool that the problem is much like the old version if you're buying it and already have the set old is spending money for nothing more than offset gather a little more and buy the death star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great re-design of the classic Episode I vehicle Pros: Fantastic figures Great ship Great playability Cons: Stickers Overpriced Worth getting fort the minifigures and the sub itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bongo set I can honestly say, i have found no fault with this set. It was quite large and very accurate to the film. Definitely a set worth buying!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The price is not good . There are not enough pieces !!!!!!!!!!!!! But the playability is good.If you have the 1999 version it is worth getting this because there are a lot of improvements. Also I like the mini figures because there are quite a few ,not like the battle of naboo or the death star.
