Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's not glowing, but the 250 piece version Havn't tried it yet as I ordered this one for an upcoming twin's birthday (10 year olds). But, the one you will get delivered is like this one: http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/toys/Skyrail-Roller-Coaster-150-Pcs/8007905064306-item.html?ikwid=sky+rail+coaster&ikwsec=Home just with 250 pieces, so it won't glow in the dark. Unfortunately picture and description are wrong. I was told Chapters/Indigo does not carry the glowing version. Still an awesome toy, I think - better than any standard marble run for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great educational toy I got this set for my nephew on his seventh birthday. So far he absolutely loves it. Once we figured out how the pieces fit together we were able to build an exciting roller coaster together in no time. And then with a few hints, he was able to do everything himself. He loves any kind of construction set, and this one lets him build as well as learn about physics. He has to check and adjust his designs so that the ball gets up enough speed to make it around the loops or up the next hill, but he also needs to find ways to slow the ball down so it will go around bends without flying off the track. It's great fun to watch him build a little, run to the beginning of the track and try it, make a little adjustment or add some more track, and then run back to test it again. And he gets such a sense of satisfaction when his work pays off and the ball makes it all the way through the ups and downs, loops and bends, to the end of the track. Any kid who's old enough to put the pieces together (or even an adult!) will get hours of fun out of this set. Not recommended for kids who only want to build and then knock down (the track is fairly thin and would probably snap easily) or kids with little patience, though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than any Video game This toy caught my eye in the Chapter flyer before Christmas. It is absolutely great. It took over the living room at Christmas and is now a daily engineering test in the playroom in the basement. This is real fun, not the virtual kind.

Rated out of 5 by from Received 2 Stars A marble riding roller coaster. With 37 straight glow-in-the-dark pieces and 22 curves, various pieces to make supports, plus two different types of marbles, the stage is set to make a large roller coaster. The instruction manual gives examples of what to build as well as an introduction to the principles of physics: acceleration, gravity, centrifugal force, kinetic energy, inertia and friction. Some of the connectors used to join the straight and curved sections do not hold the track together well, but with a little "tweaking", everything eventually fits into place. Children enjoy this introduction, in a fun way, to physics. NOTE: Adult assistance may be required.
