Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick way to start the day off right This journal was recommended to me by my counsellor as a way to start and end my day on a positive note. It really does take only five minutes a day: in the morning you write three things you're grateful for, three things that will make your day great and your daily affirmation. At the end of the day you write three awesome things about your day and one thing you'd like to improve on. I find it really does help me see the world around me for its positive potential, especially when my mood is low. I just finished filling out my first one and will be buying a second.

Starting the day with a positive thought, recognizing what we are grateful for and jotting dow a few things to look forward to during the day has really helped me gain perspective in life. Life is beautiful, you just need to take the time to see it. I think everyone should have this!

I have been trying to create new traditions with my family every year, last year my partner and I started doing the five minute journals together as a new way to kick start our day. I really love writing down all of the things and people I am grateful for every day and sharing some of our journal together definitely made us open up and appreciate all of the little things in both our lives a lot more.

It motivates me to take a small amount of time out of my day to express gratitude for all the blessings in my life, set intentions to make the day the best it can be, and reflect on how I can improve. It really does take 5 minutes which makes it easy to incorporate into your everyday routine. The paper is of good quality, the prompts are easy to follow, and the journal itself is lovely to look at and feel. I also love the inspirational daily quotes and weekly challenges the journal provides as a little something extra to keep this practice interesting due to the repetitiveness of the questions. The only critique I have which the creators have already addressed in a video on Youtube is that the prompt "What would make today great?" should be changed to "What can I do to make today great," giving YOU the responsibility and control over your day and life. Overall, I really recommend this journal to everyone who wants to make a positive change in their lives in a minimal way.

After using it for a month I've found it a very positive tool for cultivating a positive tone to each and every day. I'm now buying them for my adult children too.

I didn't like how they were the exact same every day though, it got monotonous and boring after a few months. It also doesn't have a full year's worth of pages, so you would have to buy multiple books to get through the year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! The journal itself is delightful to hold and write in - pages are smooth and it's weighty enough in your hands to feel important and purposeful. I've only been writing in it for a few days but I've already noticed changes in my mood. It's helped to give me some much-needed quiet time at the end of the day. It's been so enjoyable that I'm thinking of getting a plain notebook and carving out some time during the day to reflect and write. The journal itself recommends that you treat yourself after the fifth day for sticking to the habit - do buy a really nice pen to write with, something that brings you joy to use. The only warning comment I have is that the spaces for writing are very small, so it's not a journal for big or wordy writers. But I think that's by design - it's intended to develop a habit and to be a quick way to focus your intentions, not to be a chronicle. I don't think the small space detracts in any way from the intent or attractiveness of the journal.

I do the night portion with my wife before bed, and it has improved the communication in our relationship immensely. You know that old piece of wisdom that you should never go to bed angry with your spouse? Sharing the "How could I have made today better?" part with your wife is the easiest way to open up communication.
