about
In the Ojibwe language, wasskonense is the word for small flower, a word that translates to “gives off light”. To honour the light of the woodland flowers, we have put together a selection of colours suited to painting florals. This set features two gouache colours, which work well for layering or painting on darker paper as they are more opaque than transparent. This handmade Canadian pine palette is finished with beeswax and filled with Cherry Magenta, Gouache Beach Rose, Morning Peach and Gouache Lavender.
Beam Paints is an Indigenous female business. Our paints are handmade in small batches with local Manitoulin honey, wildcrafted tree sap, hand gathered, washed and sifted Manitoulin stone and the finest lightfast pigments. We strive to be plastic-free in our items and packaging. A focus on using natural materials like wood and beeswax means that variations and irregularities occur, which we embrace as joyfully wonderful.
