The filigree pattern adorning this cover was originally designed and handcrafted in Germany circa 1800. To achieve the gilded and polished motif, a base layer of silver sheets was first die cut, and elaborate grooves were then meticulously etched into its surface. With Smythe Sewn binding, smooth lined paper, and two metal clasps for closure, this journal truly is an elegant work of art. 9”x 7”.

Customer Reviews of Paperblanks Filigree Maya Blue Ultra Journal

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this I bought this a month ago and I am so that I did! I was planning to buy Peter Pauper Press but they don't have a special like Paperblanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Journal I purchased this journal for my eldest daughter who is 22 years old, as she put it on her gift list for Christmas. I'm now back to buy two more, one for my younger daughter (9 years old, who was completely spell-bound when she saw it) and one for myself. The locking mechanism is good and strong, but I can see that I'll need to stay on my toes about cleaning out extra bills/notes/etc. because over-taxing could break the locks. The cover is lovely, just as nice as in the pictures. It can be wiped clean if if get's dirty, and it's a durable cover. The paper is beautiful to write on, I use a ball-point pen, and coupled with this paper, it's a joy to write, or doodle. Overall, I'm very, very happy with the product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Journal I've Ever Owned I'm madly in love with this journal. It's a little crazy. I've never spent $30 on a notebook before, and had planned to buy something cheaper for my idea book, but I couldn't put this one down after I saw it in store. The paper is beautiful quality (amazing with a nice, smooth pen), the cover is even prettier in person than it is in a picture online, and I love the fact that it has those closures on the side. The edges of the pages are even decorative... it feels like writing in a treasure. Actually, I was nervous about writing in it. I'm not worthy. It's just too nice. There's a pocket inside the back cover that's really handy, and the closures hold the journal shut a little more tightly if you stick something in there. It works without that, though.
