Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I bought this for my classroom and the kids loved watching the crystals grow. They were amazed with how well the crystal grew in the jar. We needed to shine a light to see the crystal, as the red colouring was dense.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun I bought this for my 12 year old daughter (box says for ages over 10). I bought the blue one; the solution is rather dark but you can just shine a flashlight on it to see it grow. The crystal grew about 2" wide but only 1" tall. We're curious to find out if the different colours grow differently. After we rinsed the crystal we were able to remove it from the container and then wash the container (there was a lot of "crystal climbing" on the container). When everything was dry, we placed the crystal back into the container which makes for a great display case.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Waste Your Money... I purchased this for my 6 year old son in the hopes to have a fun little project. We were planning on made a hypothesis about what we thought would happen when and then we were planning on monitoring the growth of the crystals and writting down our observations. Unfortunately, when you add the "crystal" package to the warm warter solution the solution takes on a very dark colour (we had red) and therefore, were unable to watch the crystal form and grow. At the end of the 7 day period we followed the instruction (poured away the solution and rinsed) and there was a little crystal there. By this point my son could care less. Definatly not what we expected.
