Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game - Easy to learn, but lots of depth! I love this game! We play it frequently, and have for well over a year; it has very easy mechanic and is simple to learn, but the more you play, the more you can develop strategies and continue to be entertained. There are also a few expansions to consider once you have mastered the basic game. It is best played with 3 or more players. The two player version is clunky, but the 7 Wonders: Duel is perfect modified version for 2 players. Your first few games will take a bit longer as you get used to the game play, but after 3 or 4 games you should finish a game in 30 to 40 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE Not as long as Catan - only 30 minutes. Something you can't stop playing as it involves thinking, planning, strategies and being deceitful too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun, quick and challenging! This is another good game for 2-7 people. I prefer playing with 3+ players though. If you want a 2 player version buy the 7 Wonders Duel box instead. This game has a lot of rules and levels to it, but once you figure out how to play it you won't want to stop. This game is great for people who love strategy games. To play a game start to finish is roughly 30-45mins depending on how many players and their experience. The more experienced at playing this you become the short it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This game is a hit! We have played this game over and over and over again, and the people in our regular board game group have gone out to buy it for themselves so they could play with their families. Explaining the rules the first time takes longer than the gameplay itself but people catch on quickly. Because there are so many strategies and points are tallied at the end, you don't feel like you are losing early on and everyone has a chance at winning. Every game feels unique and interesting. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down, one of my favourite games! This game is so much fun and one of the really great things about it is that everyone does their turns at the same time, you're barely ever "waiting" for anybody else. The replay value is really great and it keeps you on your toes the entire time, excited for the next turn. It also doesn't take very long, so you can squeeze in a few games into an afternoon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Different Every Time Great city building/strategy game. Need to collect resources and spend them to build your wonder and to build your empire. One of our faves. Great game for group.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for a large group of adults Although this game seems complicated at first, once you get the hang of it (two rounds) it becomes more strategic and is easy to play, in that the rules of gameplay are not difficult to follow. I like the this game can be played with up to 7 players, takes less than an hour and is actually interesting because conceptually the game makes sense. You build up different aspects of a city in three game phases. The aspects include infrastructure, military, architecture etc, as well as your wonders which you may also build. Each phase allows you to build on previous stages of game play to optimize victory points. This game requires concentration and strategy, so you can play it with some music snack and conversation going on, but it is not a suitable party game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun game for Adults This is really fun game while not overly complex I would not recommend this for children. There is some skill involved and it does take a couple of times to get a hang of it. Luckily each game does not take very long so it is easy enough to do a dummy game to allow people to get a feel for the game. If you like Catan then this is a game for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Complicated; For Adults Only This game is extremely complicated to learn and not much fun when you do. It is still worth a few plays once you finally get the hang of it (and don't expect everyone to get it at the same time, adding to the frustration) but even after the first game I've found that everyone's had their fill and can't wait to play something else. I played this first at a game board cafe and we had a games master teach us how to play; in the end, both he and our group were tearing our hair out in frustration. Once we finally got the hang of it enough to play without assistance it ran smoother, but it still wasn't as enjoyable and there were far too many rules to keep track of (some that we weren't even aware of until it came time to total the scores). It's a nice concept (love the history aspect) and at least allows players to keep their own gameplay to their placemat kingdom, but it makes it harder to see what everyone else is doing on theirs even though you're currently concerned with your immediate neighbours. There aren't enough pieces for in game scoring which makes it harder for us to keep track and even though trying to outwit your neighbours is fun I find it less fun when you keep in mind that you have all these friends you're in game with but only a few that you're directly playing with (it's like a tournament where you're scored against other gamers even though you're in the same game). I would not recommend anyone under 18 play this game as it is way too convoluted. My group only ended up playing one more game after the first one; we just couldn't take any more of it. It really did have a cool concept but required way too much to make it work. I don't need something to be simple, I just want all the parts to be unified and fit together perfectly and this game lacked that well-thought out feel. I wouldn't ever play this game again but perhaps others might have a better opinion of it. Just try it before you buy it as I would have regretted buying this outright without knowing the frustration ahead (in learning to play and in teaching others).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun game! Great game that can play up to 7 people! The game isn't that hard to play, although there is a pretty steep learning curve right at the start, once you play a game or two everything should be clear. There are a lot of icons on the cards that you have to refer to the back of the book to know what tehy mean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this game! We LOVE this board game! It's really easy to play once you get used to it. It's a bit different in the sense that it isn't one big board that everyone plays on - everyone gets their own board instead! I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a fun game that makes you think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and fun! I had heard good things about this drafting / resource / building game but was still skeptical until I finally tried it. Awesome game! Assuming everyone is following the rules and not cheating this game plays fast and simple but offers some fun decisions. Once you get used to the icons, understanding cards is a breeze. I played a 6 player game and it only took around 25-30 minutes to do the drafting, then we scored the game with pen and paper which took about 5 minutes. Right when it was over I was already looking forward to my next play of it. So I would say give this game a try if you like a light resource management game but avoid it if you enjoy very deep and strategic euros. By the way, if you're looking for sleeves for this game, try the 65x100mm board game sleeves available from UltraPro which I think were designed specifically for 7 Wonders!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great strategy game! We bought this game for playing at our annual family Christmas gathering...we're a bunch that enjoys playing strategy games like Catan, Risk, etc. This game has elements that are similar to other strategy games (resource & military development, etc.) yet is very unique in many ways. Once you learn the basics, it becomes a brisk paced game. I'd highly recommend it. This has easily become my favorite strategy game!
