Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crowded Waters This is a really fun game and a great way for kids to learn strategy. Simply set up each colored shark in the starting position. Every move, you'll need to connect another game piece to your color, but it can't be in the direction of where another shark is pointing. Once you can't make another move, you're out of the game. This game is fast-paced and quick and easy to set up. It's perfect for kids eight and up and you can play with up to four players. Complimentary product received.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun strategy game Crowded Waters is a strategy game for kids. It is for older kids ages 8 and up. You need to play with a minimum of 2 players and a max of 4 players. The one that wins is the last shark swimming who has room to swim. The instructions come with lots of detail to help you learn the game. It is a great strategy game and has the kids thinking. Please note that this game was provided in exchange for my honest opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great therapy game I recently received Crowded Waters from Educational Insights. Thank you for the opportunity to use this game in my therapy sessions! Educational Insights has so many great games for therapy so if you are a therapist, I encourage you to head over to their website and check it out. This game is not as easy as some of my other favorites from them. This would requires a higher level of reasoning and strategy so it's not a beginner game that allows you to take turns and easily modify the game. Nonetheless, it isn't too difficult for learners and allows for introductory lessons in strategic play. It is created for ages 8 and up. So far, I have found that the kids love it because, well, who doesn't like sharks? The game has a huge shark mouth on it and the game pieces for placement have sharks on them. The object of the game is to be the last shark swimming. Up to 4 players (at least 2) take turns placing sharks on the board and may be pointed in a specific direction until no legal moves can be made. A player begins with all sharks in a specific position and then connects their next shark to the last, pointing it to an empty space. A player cannot point to a space to which another shark is already pointing. The final player with "room to swim" wins. The instructions have plenty of visual examples of correct/incorrect moves since the instructions initially sound confusing to young players. Visually, this game is great! The game board fits into the top portion of the box when you leaving the packing cardboard in to allow it to be elevated. The only pieces are the game board and shark pieces (4 colors of sharks and 4 skeletons of corresponding shark pieces). Also, the game pieces fit into the game board (inset) so they don't easily get moved. There are instructions in English, Spanish, French, and German. This game is fun, interactive & engaging! It's great for therapy and for family game night. Several skills can be addressed through this game: • Social skills

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a fun game! This is such a fun game! both kids enjoyed playing and having fun trying to block the other players. Played 2 and 4 players, and the outcome is always different. The concept of the game is simple, but you need to figure out, or guess how to the other players will play, so you can attempt to save your sharks. It can be a little competitive, which I like, so the kids are always trying to out smart each other. Great Game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strategy is the Key I played it for the first time with my husband and two daughters ages 6 & 12. The first round was a little slow, but once we got the hang of it, it was pretty fast paced. We played three rounds and they all won one round. I was sure I had them multiple times, but they always got me instead. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to playing it with them again soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crowded Waters is a definite survivor!! Crowded Waters was a great strategy board game of survival, ideal for older kids The game board, that mimics the ocean, was high quality and sturdy with indented spaces to insert game pieces. Players select a shark color and strategize their path to stay swimming in the game. Crowded Waters was easy to understand, and we were able to play right away with a group of young teens. I loved that this game made you think and stay on your toes but was a quick play that didn't take a great length of time. This is definitely a keeper in our house. One we will play again and again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engaging My boys loved this game from beginning to end.. It kept them engaged the entire time and there was no wandering off, which is typical during games, and everyone enjoyed it. This is my new go to when they are asking for their video games and I'm tired of saying no. Clean up is also easier than I'd originally thought which is a bonus. I would certainly recommend to others, and have already.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Family Game My 11 year old loves it, my 6 year old likes it... and my wife and I both enjoy playing with the kids. It is a fun strategy game that doesn't take too long but keeps you on your toes as you try to surround your opponents. The board is very well made and the pieces are designed well. We altered the rules a bit for a two-person game so that we use two colors each but just start at two locations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect game for the entire family What a fun game this is! Husband and I played it with our 8yr old daughter, it was great to see them strategize and really think through. This will be a top pick for my daughter when she has friends over. The quality of the game is excellent. Sturdy board with and nicely pieces.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Fun, yet strategic This is a great, fun game. I received this game for my honest thoughts and review. I have 3 children, 2 of which we play this game with, ages 8 & 13. Both children, as well as my husband and i enjoy this game. It is surprisingly strategic, forces fore thought. Game board and pieces are quite durable. Would recommend this for fun and laughs, even surprises, as my 8 year old surprised me on numerous occasions with her different strategic moves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Fun Game of Strategy for the Whole Family I received this sample from Educational Insights for review. Opinions are honest. No compensation received. Do you like to play board games with your family and are looking for a new one? My family likes to play games and are always looking for new ones to try. We were recently introduced to Crowded Waters. The three of us have played this a few times and have really had fun. This game makes you think ahead with your moves and use strategy to advance your shark pieces and hopefully win the game. This is a good game for players of all ages. I appreciate that it's not a mindless game of rolling a dice and moving a piece around a board. This game makes you look at the board and really think about the moves. You can have fun and be challenged at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging and Fun! Games are such an important component to our family time and for learning at home. Crowded Waters is about strategy, critical thinking and logic. I LOVE games that make my girls think and this one is high on the list! After going over the rules, talking about how the games works, my girls were ready to play. The goal of the game is to block the path that a shark would swim by placing your tokens down in the path. As more tokens are played down on the path, the waters become more crowded. The last player who is able to add their shark to the crowded board wins! I LOVE that the game is challenging and fun, but also quick! It doesn't take very long to play a game and it is just the right challenge. This game was right at the level of my 8 year old, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone younger than 7. It was challenging, fun and a great way to take a brain break! I absolutely love resources from Educational Insights because their products are high quality and educational. Crowded Waters is no exception.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for family game night Looking for your next game for family game night? Then you will just love Crowded Waters. It is definitely a strategic game and perfect for kids 8 and older. It's only good for 2-4 players. Your kids will get a kick out of playing this with you! Once you catch onto the game it is loads of fun!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Family Game! Our whole family enjoyed playing this fun game! Even though the game is labeled ages 8+, my almost seven year old was able to play along just fine. It was engaging and encourages strategy and critical thinking. We especially loved that the pieces fit into the board so they stay put throughout the game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game of strategy! My son is a shark fanatic, so of course he was excited to try out this game. It was a great game of strategy! This game was built to last and not flimsy like most toys and games are now a days. I board is raised so the pieces slip into slots, so they are not moving all over the board. This is great so they don't get messed up and this kids fighting! It is easy to figure out this game and there is no cards to read, just simple instructions. You place you piece on the board, touching the one you set down last, and pointing the mouth to an open space. The goal is to block the other player from having a direction to swim in. The last person with room left to swim wins!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Indoor Fun I admit it, we have a TON of board games. Do we play them a lot? No. With all the tech devices in our house now, you will usually find us on those. But, those tec devices don't give us the chance to actually interact with EACHOTHER. So, when we got this game, I was excited to sit down together...and we had a blast! It is fast-paced and kept everyone on their toes. My daughter is 7 and son is 10 and we were all able to play well together. We have already played several times and are looking forward to our next game night! We did receive this product for review, but our opinions are 100% our own!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Fun Game of Strategy! A spur fun game for intermediate students! My gifted students would love to play this game all day long! Fantastic for game strategy and thinking ahead. It would also be perfect as an indoor recess activity for students in small groups when it is too cold to go outside in the winter. It is a quiet game that students will enjoy playing over and over again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game for the kids This is a great game to keep the kids entertained and a reward for them after school. Easy to play by placing your shark in the open waters and point the shark's mouth to where you want to go. The game is great for helping kids work on their critical thinking and strategy planning. I did receive this product for free in exchange for our honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game for developing strategy, spatial thinking and log We played this as a family and enjoyed it but when my boy played it with other classmates, they had a bigger laugh as some kids took longer to get the rules and others were egging them on to make mistakes - all in all loads of fun and great for developing strategy, planning, spatial thinking and logic - my son's a chess player and I can see the appeal (though his friends are not chess players and they seemed to enjoy it too). Interesting Strategy game this is - every player places a shark (his/her choice of colour) on a board, and moves it on his/her turn by placing another tile (same colour) next to the previously placed tile. On his turn, a player "moves" his shark by placing another tile of his color on the space right next to his previously placed tile (the tike can point in any direction) however not towards another Shark or previously occupied space. Sort of the idea being, that as the waters get crowded (hence the name of the game!) players will struggle to move and the last shark that swims, wins the game! Cool game - thumbs up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a Fun Yet Challenging Family Game Now that my boys are a little older, I am super excited to play more challenging games with them. My 7 year old especially is all about puzzle and logic games, but surprisingly there are not many out there that appeal to him. Crowded Waters though is a game from Educational Insights that honestly my whole family enjoys! It has become a new favorite and as a mom I appreciate the simplicity while still being challenging. So there are only two different types of pieces included - there is the game board and then the four different colored shark tokens. No money or cards or reading for that matter. I mention reading because my boys are not strong readers and they honestly appreciate games where they don't have to struggle with reading but are still geared towards older kids. Crowded Waters is geared towards 8+ and it is pretty easy to get the hang of, but I still wouldn't get it for anyone younger than 7 years old. In the game you basically have to put your tokens down in a path that a shark would swim. The goal is to block the other player from having a direction to swim in. It is a game that has yet to get old with us and one I highly recommend. After getting so sick of the same ole' same ole' games, it is nice to have a challenging but fun game that we can all enjoy. My one son really likes this game so we play it two-player a lot but it is also fun as a four-player game. I received this product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great thinking game! Great thinking game! I am so tired of dumb games with no point for the older elementary set- this is not one of them! My kids- 9 and 8 love to play together and my husband and I don't mind this game at all! It's a tiny bit like blokus but MUCH quicker. Highly reccomend for 7 and up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Uses Critical Thinking Skills This is a great game to keep the kids entertained. They each placed their shark in the open waters and pointed the shark's mouth to where they were headed. It was super to see critical thinking and processing skills being used. Great game. Wish there were alternative ways of playing to make the game more challenging. I received this item as a gift for my honest review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple, but fun! This game is very simple and easy enough for my kids to play without help (they are 8 & 9). I like how they have to think ahead and come up with a strategy. It would be nice to be able to add some more obstabcles or challenges to it to keep their interest for longer. However, we loved how simple it was for them to figure out and play on their own. I feel like so many games are way too complicated, but this is very straight forward and fun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and fast play My boys 9 and 12 really enjoyed playing this game together. It was easy to learn the rules and they played several games in succession because they liked it so well. Our only reason for 4/5 starts is that they wished there was a way to make it more challenging - like an advanced play set of rules. They are set to make up their own! Great family fun. They especially loved the skeleton fish for the dead ones!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High Quality Board and Pieces - Fun Strategy Game! This is a great strategy game for young kiddos. I played this with my 8 year old son. We discussed how it's kind of like Checkers because you need to come up with a plan and really think through your moves. The quality of the game is excellent. I love how the little pieces fit into the slots nicely, so they don't get moved if the board is accidentally bumped. There's nothing cheap about this game. It is high quality in every way and also very easy to follow and enjoy. I'm looking forward to playing with more people!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun game for all ages When I opened the Crowded Waters game, the first thing I noticed was that the board is not flat, but the pieces fit into the slots so they won't move around and get messed up easily. I played this with my husband, my eight year old son, and my five year old daughter. All four of us enjoyed it immensely. It is a really easy game to play from the very beginning with very few rules (my 5 year old needed no help to play this). Although, the game is simple to play, it takes some strategizing to win! The board is well made. I like that there was an interlocking bag to keep the pieces in. My family will be enjoying this game for years to come. *We received this game free to try from Educational Insights in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, quick, and fun! The first thing we noticed was the quality of the game board and pieces - this game was built to last. I have 7 year old triplets, and they were able to understand the game quickly. It is a fast paced game that is over within a few minutes. This is nice, because Monopoly-length games are not always easy to fit into a schedule. I love how my kids were already communicating strategies for how to go further in the game. It's a great problem-solving based game. I also love how it can be played with or without an adult - it's easy enough to understand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality and tons of fun! I played this game with my nephew this weekend, and he LOVED it! He's 9, and will be in the 4th grade next year. The first thing we (well, really HE) noticed is how nice the game board is. We both expected the surface to be level, but it has great little cutouts for the game pieces. The board, and pieces, are high quality, and fit nicely together. The game itself is a great game of strategy and makes you think ahead. I have to admit that he was much better at it than I was! Overall, it's a great game for 2-4 people that encourages kids (and adults!) to engage in critical thinking and planning to be the last shark standing! Highly recommended.
