Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just for the Record! Just for the Record... I will be buying this for my daughter even though there were many negative reviews. It may not be the exact classic we remember but it is close enough for my liking and my daughter will love the music regardless. Can't wait to order this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our son loves it! This is a cute classic toy. Our two year old loves all the songs. It's a little tough for little fingers to use, but our son is starting to be able to use it on his own and without help.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Memories! My children received this as a gift. It's much different than the 80's version that I remember, but it does have some great features. I like how they have to wind is up, take out the records and put them in place. Its easy to store and carry around because of the handle. I mostly like that it doesn't have a on and off button, and that they have to work a bit to get it to work (wind up feature). Great for developing motor skills. Because we have so many noisy light up toys, this one has tough competition, but I'm sure they will revisit over the next few years as I have three young kids.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a great choice. We received this as a gift for Christmas for our 18M old. I'm not sure why the age range is 18M+ as it's even difficult for our 4 year old to turn the dial to produce music. It will only play music for a couple minutes with the dial fully turned, which means our kids can't play with it independently. The music that it does produce doesn't even sound that great. I see the arm on this which is required to play music will break very shortly :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only ok I had the original as a child and Obviously the original is better. It looks the same and the music on the records is the same BUT, it isn't a music box. It's battery operated and made to sound like a music box. The updates are a little disappointing. My daughter loves it though. I'm grateful I still have my original!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from glad i bought I purchased this toy for my 2 year old a few months back and she loves it. I was very skeptical after reading some of the other reviews but decided to give it a try. True it may not be exactly identical to the original, however what can we really expect. At 2 years of age she does need some help working but that certainly isnt a deal breaker for us. All in all i recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SO Disappointed My 15 month old loves this classic toy and enjoyed it a lot for 2 months until it BROKE. What a waste of $40. The arm is difficult to move off the record so I had to help him with that. It still turns but won't play music. He keeps asking me to fix it :(. Don't waste your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My kids love it! I almost didn't buy this based on all the negative reviews, but I'm so glad that I did. True, it has batteries, but my kids (ages 5, 3 and 1) absolutely love it!!! I can't believe how much my 5 and 3 year old love to change the records and sing along. It was by far the best Santa gift this year!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a bummer!! I was so excited to see this toy in an email I got this morning...I clicked on it right away to order one for my son. Then I saw the reviews. What a complete disappointment. I don't usually post messages like this but I'm hoping Fisher Price will see these and clue in not mess around with the classics. They may as well take it off the shelves...anyone who knows this original is NOT going to buy this imposter. Way to go Fisher Price. :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oh no! I wanted the classic! I was quite ready to buy this but read the reviews before I did so. Thank goodness I did. Why would Fisher Price change an obviously fantastic toy? The wind up version eliminated the need for batteries making it far more environmentally friendly. I'll try to find the original, wind up toy on Ebay. Thanks for the warning Amy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing electronic replica The original was a real wind-up music box and the records had dots to play the notes on the metal tines in the record 'head'. This version is electronic and needs 3AA batteries. The records only serve to tell the box which tinny-sounding file to play (no dots - the photos lie). Plus the head is hard to move off the record. I was so excited when I saw they'd reissued this toy that I got two, one for a gift and one for my own child. I will be sending them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have been waiting for this to reappear! This was a family favourite at the cottage, growing up. Glad it's back in action! Kids will love changing the "records" and dancing around.
