Code-A-Pillar features 9 easy-to-connect segments that preschoolers can arrange and rearrange to “tell” the toy how to move forward, left, right, wiggle, dance or even wait for a couple seconds before moving again. Kids can configure the segments in such a way that the Code-A-Pillar can reach targets they set up throughout the room. There’s even a motorized head segment with lights, sounds and blinking eyes that brings Code-A-Pillar to life! Ready … set … code! When kids connect the segments—in tons of different ways—to make Code-A-Pillar move left, then right, then forward, or wherever-- that’s sequencing!  When they figure out a sequence that will create a path for Code-A-Pillar to reach a target, that’s programming (and problem solving, too)!  It’s all coding—and it’s all fun! Code-A-Pillar is one of the new learning toys from Fisher-Price that goes beyond ABCs and 123s to help children learn how to think independently. Each toy fosters 21st century skills like curiosity, experimentation and problem-solving in ways kids haven’t seen before. They’re engaged in hands-on open-ended discovery that helps them become lifelong learners.  When they figure out a sequence that will create a path for Code-A-Pillar to reach a target, that’s programming (and problem solving, too)!  It’s all coding—and it’s all fun!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not a big hit For the price and the hype I was expecting more. My Grandson (3 years old) lost interest fairly quickly as well. Sadly, it basically just seemed like a caterpillar toy that rolled when he pushed a button. The coding was lost on him. Maybe an older child would appreciate it more?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seemed like a good idea I had hoped that the toy would meet FP's usual high standards but sadly it broke shortly after we began playing with it. I hope FP fixes it and reissues it or does a redesign because I think that it has potential.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after 1 day of use The motor or wheel broke after one day of use. It was hardly played with. Very frustrating. Unable to return becuase we purchased it a month before the kid's birthday and by the time they opened it and used it for the day we were outside the return window.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flashing Red Eyes I bought this toy as a Santa gift for my daughter, she really likes it and now it only flashes red eyes and not moving anymore... It was an expensive toy to get and not it does not work... I tried the link that is shown for direct contact but this also does not work!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was great- while it lasted... My daughter really enjoyed this toy. She didn’t play with it excessively or rough- it was only used on occasion and with adult assistance. Despite not abusing it and only having it for a few months, it stopped working out of the blue. I understand that most toys will die or break at some point, but this one was really expensive and I expected to get a lot more use out of it. I’m glad I didn’t invest in any expansion packs. I definitely won’t be replacing it, even though it’s once of my daughter’s favorite toys.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Refund immediately! Just like other reviewers, the toy stopped working shortly after we spent a considerable amount of money on it. It's eyes blink red and 3 little bursts and doesn't work. I want my money back!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was great but stopped working Got for my son. It was going great. Then we changed battery now it stopped working. It lights up. Makes the sound but non of the connections light up. It will move 3 short times then eyes glow red. Very unhappy toddler here

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I guess my kid is not into coding ... I thought that this was a great toy, but my daughter had no interest in it. I also thought that it was more appropriate for younger kids months to 36 months. We haven't bothered with the extension kits etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Watch out! Just bought an expansion pack for our code-a-pillar and it has stopped working. We get it all set up and it starts to move then stops and gives us red eyes. NOT HAPPY!!! especially with the cost of these items!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Now won't move Son received as gift, was initially so happy with this that I spent another $60 to buy expansion pieces and a month after I got the extra pieces it now won't move or recognize the extra parts. Super disappointing and a very unhappy little boy :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It was fun for a month before it died We gifted this toy to our 3 year old from Santa. She didn’t play with it excessively, despite the toy has stopped working. We tried changing the batteries, it gives a small sign of life and that is it, it doesn’t move. I had read similar reviews and hoped it would last longer. Very disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really enjoying it The kids, both under four, are really enjoying it. Four stars as I wish we could control the volume...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun but pricey I found this toy really promising but it doesn't engage my kid weekly. The add ons are expensive. I do love the concept of this toy and I feel it is probably better for 4 and above.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after playing with it for one day As others said in their reviews code-a-pillar stopped working after my 3 year old played with it for a day. He was supervised while he played so I know the toy was not misused or treated roughly... my son was very disappointed that he couldn't make it move anymore since it stopped working right when he started to figure it out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE First day our daughter, who is 4, played with it the product doesn't work. It lights up and makes music but doesn't move
Date published: 2017-12-30
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped moving after one day I bought this for my son as a Christmas gift. After one day, we noticed it started to move sluggishly... then it stopped moving. We assumed it was low on battery, but when we replaced batteries, it still would not go. All the lights illuminate- but it does no time move forward or to the side. It's a shame because my son really liked this toy. He was so excited to see it in motion after putting the pieces together. He also enjoyed the sound and music module.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sudden failure Bought this toy for my 3.5 year old son, worked for about a week. Seems to come on, then eyes blink red and nothing. We could not find any instructions to fix this error on line. Very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasted 8 months and stopped working It was a good toy for my two toddlers while it lasted, you need enough space for it to go around or it'll stop moving. I don't know what happened but the toy doesn't work anymore after 8 months, I thought it was low battery but it no longer goes. Also, it would be nice with volume control cause it is kind of loud.
Date published: 2017-12-15
Rated 3 out of 5 by from too loud It's cute, but very loud. I wish there was a way to turn down the sound or off. My grandkids can't play with it if anyone is sleeping... even far away in their house.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from If it didn't stop working, it would be great! My daughter got this for her birthday in October of this year. She loves it but as of yesterday (two months after receiving it) it no longer works! It won't recognize any body piece and just does a few small forward lurches then does the error noise and glows red. Wouldn't have expected such a short lifespan from Fisher-Price.
Date published: 2017-12-10
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not recommend Not good quality. We don’t use it very often, but in total it has only been played with a handful of times. Got it out to play with tonight and it won’t move more than an inch or 2. We thought maybe batteries, but replacing them didn’t change anything. After googling and reading many similar reviews, I think there is an overall defect with the product. We have the entire system (codapillar and all 3 expansion packs). It would be a really cool toy if it actually kept working, but don’t waste your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped Working My daughters loved this toy until it stopped working. It quit moving forward and will not do anything. It is very frustrating for kids. We are disappointed that given the cost and the fact it's a Fisher Price toy that it has so many problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after couple of playtimes Got it as a gift for christmas and thought the batteries ran out. Put it up out of the way and now just replaced the batteries and the eyes flash red it moves about and inch and stops. Nothing. (kinda glad as it is the LOUDEST TOY EVER with no volume control.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awesome for a second... Bought this for our daughter last Christmas and she loved it! Played with ever day for a straight two weeks. Then one day it would just jerk forward three times and then its eyes blinked red, and stopped moving. I opened it up thinking maybe there was just hair on the wheels (we have super fluffy dog), but even after I cleaned it all out and gave it a fresh set of batteries it kept doing the same thing. In the trash it goes...I would definitely purchase with caution!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from malfunctioned quickly Gift given to my kids that was totally fun (but a bit too loud) but quit working like it did out of the box after less than a week. It slowed down, cannot pull its "tail" at some length, and certain segments do not do what they are supposed to do. Also, given the expansion pack that has repeat dial that does not work. So, it seems to be partly an issue with front wheels and part issue with programming malfunctionin certain segments.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointed in the product I bought this toy for my 3-year-old son for his birthday I figured it would be a great learning toy. When my son first opened this toy he loves it; it was amazing he played with it for hours. But after a couple of weeks of playing with the toy, it stopped working which made me very angry consider the money I paid for this device. I mean only in a couple of weeks my son could no longer play with the toy. I will have to say I am very disappointed in this product; it seemed like a great investment at the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My daughter is 4 she got for Christmas only played without a couple of times and it won't work now. Was a complete waste of money. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Kids enjoyed, but stopped working fairly quickly Our kids (and us as parents) really enjoyed playing with the Code-a-pillar, sending it around obstacles and interchanging the pieces. Our major problem with the Code-a-pillar is that it stopped working correctly within two months. The first malfunction was that it would only work if 4 or less of the body segments were attached. Now, it will not work at all, simply making the noises to activate the body segments and then not lighting them up or moving. Additionally, I attempted to contact Fisher-Price on two separate occasions through their website regarding the issue to see if there was anything that could be done, but I did not receive a reply on either occassion. If the Code-a-pillar had worked longer, I would definitely have given it a higher ranking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed. Received this for our daughters birthday and it only worked once. Starts to light up and then won't move. Has only worked once and barely moved then, but now it won't go anywhere. Such a bummer and waste of money

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted a day Used this for less than a day! Now doesn't turn on. Started making frequent errors after a few uses and now doesn't turn on! If this is the durability of a fisher price too built for 4 year olds they have failed epically.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great toy for the hard of hearing I am being a tad facetious of course and no disrespect intended for the hard of hearing. What toy designer / engineer thought that not adding a volume adjustment or mute button and leaving the volume at ultra high was a great idea on a 'programmable' toy of all things. Cheap $10 dollar store toys have volumne adjustment. Kid loves it but the code-a-pillar will try your patience every time it's on. I cannot recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Having problems. My daughter code a pillar has had issues since we've bought the toy. The move forward segments and the turn ones don't work they just make Gia annoying clicking noise. We've bought a couple different add ons that have lasted either. Very disappointed because both my kids lives this toy while it lasted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Code a pillar errors Bought this for Christmas decided to wait until he was a bit older to give it to him has played with it a bit loved it but now errors with flashing red eyes changed batteries checked wheels nothing I'm very disappointed considering cost should have been way more durable. Rated 5 out of 5 by from My grand baby loves it! Gave this to my grand baby for Christmas when she was 2 1/2 and she loved it. Just the noises and the movement. Now she is almost 3 and starting to understand what it does and why. We are very happy with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too loud, stopped working after very little use We are pretty disappointed in our Code-a-pillar. It is waaaay too loud, and there's no volume or sound adjustment options. I could live with that, but after very little use (only played with a couple of times) the machine stopped moving (just a few short movements, then red flashing eyes). We thought the batteries were low, so put in fresh batteries, checked connections were tight, but still the same thing. Seems to be broken :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fun while it lasted My daughter's code a pillar no longer works. We recently moved & she went to play with it for the first time in a long time & it just jerks forward for a second then doesn't do anything. We changed the batteries & rearranged all the pieces thinking maybe they weren't connecting but nothing helped. I logged on here to see if other people had issues & I was shocked at the number of similar complaints. I bought a think & learn chameleon for a birthday present & I am hesitant to give it as the gift not knowing it will last. I must say this is the first issue I've had with a Fisher Price toy & we have several.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stopped working Bought the kids one for Christmas 2016, and it worked great. Now in July 2017, the toy does three short scoots forward, then stops and flashes the red error eyes. Tried replacing the batteries, but it did not help. Made sure the segments were fully attached, didn't help. It was fun (if a bit loud) until it stopped working.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It stopped working I bought this for Christmas for my son and he loved it so much. We even got him an extension pack! After 4 months of using it sporadically, it stopped working. This is ridiculous! It was an expensive toy that now is trash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like many others here, it stopped working Gave this to our grandsons for Christmas. It worked beautifully but then got packed and put in storage when they moved. We just unpacked it, and it doesn't work. It's ridiculous that such a big toy company has such poor quality control. ALL these units should be replaced, as they are obviously defective.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent toy but didn't work initially. Bought this off Amazon USA from New Zealand (they don't sell them here). Had the red eye fail to move issue. Resolved by rewiring a faulty sensor. Works fantastic now but pretty shoddy to have a fault right out of the box knowing that it would be near impossible to return.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 months and my toddler still plays with it!! I don't write many reviews but this toy warranted on!! Bought this as a Christmas gift for my three year old and this has been the one and only toy that she has show interested in for more than a day or two... Aside from it taking a little bit of practice attaching the pieces together the code a pillar is a huge hit in our house. Highly recommend this toy, my daughter is easily entertained for an hour or so as I give her different routes to challenge her code a pillar to navigate. Have since bought two more of this for gifts:) The only negative... The sound can get a little irritating after 4 months lol

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Codeapillar won't move I'm at STEM educator visiting the US on a government scholarship. I was given a Codeapillar as a gift from a STEM Centre to take back to Australia and show other teachers. When you press the start button, it lights and sounds, but it doesn't move. I can see great potential as a teaching tool, often we buy things like this in class sets, however, not working straight out of the box would mean I cannot recommend it as much as I want to. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only goes straight Bought this for my daughter, it lights up like it should but doesn't recognize right or left turns so it only goes forward until a turn comes up in the sequence and it shuts down. Huge disappointment for the money I spent when her wind up toys are only a few dollars and do the same thing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from At first it was great...but now it's disappointing My daughter received this as a Christmas present and absolutely loved it. She loved watching it move and dancing to the different sounds (which are incredibly loud). However, now, it no longer works properly. It will run the first or first two segments, but then it shuts off. We've put only a few segments on to see if it would change the end result, but the same thing happens. I'm very disappointed that it is operating this way. It is a rather expensive toy to have just sit on the shelf.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun toy! Bought as a christmas gift for my sons. My youngest 6 months loves this toy, it's so eye catching and makes funny noises.( i have the sounds pack also) my older son 1 1/2 loves to watch it move around the house. I wish it had a volume button so you could make it a little less loud. But other than that its a good toy. I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and was looking for more of a learning toy for her as she will be 3 in the next couple of months. The toy works fine for us, never have had any issues but I think she isn't ready for understanding how the different segments work. I'll probably put it away for a while and reintroduce it later. She played with it when I sat down and played with her but lost interest pretty quickly. She did enjoy the sound segment and danced to that each time it went off. I rate this a 4 because it worked great and I think it is something she will like once she gets a little older.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great - until it stopped working My kids received this for Christmas with the expansion packs. Just as my 3 year old is starting to get into moving the codeapillar around chairs and other obstacles it stopped recognizing more than 3-4 sections. It was fun while it lasted, but for the money I would choose a different toy that lasts more than a few weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I think it's a great toy. My daughter likes to switch and move around pieces to make the code-a-pillar move in different ways and different directions. It's like she programs it herself! Yes, its loud but it only makes noise once she finished planning the pieces. And of course, she doesnt play more than an hour 3 times a day. It probably uses a lot of power but so far, we never changed the battery. We shut it off completely after each use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Intro to cause and effect Got this for my two year old in hopes he would get the idea of the different 'directions' the caterpillar can follow, but he is too young. It is loud and when the bug bumps into things, it stops. My LO thinks it is broken and picks it up, which further delays it, and he gets frustrated. Really need to follow the recommendations regarding age range for play.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working almost immediately My girls received this as a Christmas gift and it only worked on Christmas Day. After that, all of the sections light up to indicate that they are operational and then the entire code-a-pillar shuts down. We're very disappointed with the product and our girls are disappointed that it won't move for them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy Toy This toy is great. I think the adults have more fun with it than the child. I bought it for a 3 year old who like the flashing lights and motion, but comprehending the placement of the segments is a little beyond him. His father and I enjoyed it immensely. My 3 year old nephew will grow into it by his fourth birthday in six months

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was cute, key word: was Bought this for my son for Christmas, barley used and now only two weeks later it won't recognize more than 4 sections. Changed the batteries and everything. It will work with any of the sections, you can just only use 4 at a time. Extremely dissapinted as this is not an inexpensive toy! :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't work I got this as a gift for our 5y.o. When we got it in the mail I put 2 sets of brand new batteries in this thing and it only made a sad, soft sound and never worked after that. Disappointing after spending the money & waiting to see how it would work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No longer working My son got this for Christmas and he absolutely loved it. However, less than 3 weeks later it has an issue with the connection to the tail pieces and will not working properly anymore. His eyes turn red and he just doesn't go anywhere. Overall, good idea, fun toy, poor product design.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could be so great! Why so loud? I bought this for my 4 year old for Christmas. He is so excited to try it but I can't bring myself to let him play with it. I have 3 small children and this is the LOUDEST toy in our house. How are children supposed to think and learn when their brain is so busy trying to prevent hearing loss?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son, and it doesnt move at all. It lights up, and makes a loud noise like it is going to work, but then it sits in place (maybe it is stuck in demo mode?). We have it on a flat surface, have changed the batteries and done everything we can think of, but it is not working. What's more frustrating is that my son continues to play with it, lift it up and look at the wheel, and turn it on and off hoping to make it work. I submitted an inquiry to customer service last week (8 days ago), and I have not received a response. We now have a $50 light-up noise maker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Confusing My 3 year old received toy for Christmas. Not sure what it does really. It keeps stopping halfway through the route. We changed the batteries. Read and reread succinct directions and searched it internet. Just glad I didn't spend any money on this toy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only Goes Right Whether it's on the carpet or hard floor it only goes to the right. If it's coded to go straight, right, or left, it only slants to the right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working after one day Like others, our code-a-pillar is only flashing red lights when we push the button. It's not in demo mode. We've changed the batteries. At a loss.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Obnoxiously loud! The toy is an interesting idea, but even my three year old says it is too loud. He stopped using it becuase of how loud it is. Why no volume control, or lower volume setting? Googled issue and some people have soldered a resister on the blue wire, or cut it altogether to silence the noise. Even taping over the speaker holes does little to adjust the volume level. Such a shame.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish it worked My son got this for Christmas and was so excited to play with it. I wish it worked. You turn it on and it shuts back off. When it does go it will only do one of the "codes" and then shuts off. I'm very disappointed in this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cool toy, horrible battery life I bought this and all the expansion pieces for my 2 year old grandsons for Christmas. They can already put the pieces together and start the worm on their own. They have played with it a total of 20 minutes and I have changed the batteries 3 times already. Each time has been fresh and brand new batteries. This would be such an awesome learning and thinking toy and would get a much higher rating if the battery life was even remotely longer. Such a high price to pay for all of it for it to only chew thru batteries the way it does. Unfortunately, even though the boys love it, they get frustrated because it dies way too fast. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very excited about this toy for one day.... Got this for our daughter for Christmas and it was awesome for one day. Day 2 everything continued to work except there was no longer any sound. I expected more from Fisher Price as it's been our favourite trusted brand until now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stuck in demo mode Just opened this up for our two-year old and it's stuck in demo mode. I pushed the switch all the way to the right like the instructions say to do but got nothing. It keeps repeating the demo lights and sound and will not move or recognize the other pieces when they are attached. I had to hide it from him because he was absolutely beside himself because he couldn't get it to move. Would have given it 1 star but it DOES light up at least.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A few things could make it better. My 4 year old and 8 year old love it and my 8 month old is mesmerized. Two things that are very frustrating: 1 is that it has one volume- and when you have littles it makes it hard to have a toy that we can't play with while the baby sleeps. 2 is that the expansions aren't actually expansions, they are interchangables. The thing only works with 8 pieces- any more than that and it just shuts down instead of starting to go. So now we have to configure only 8 piece codes to move with, which was simply misleading because of the name. Other than that, my kids love it!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from She loves it! I bought this in June for my granddaughter's 4th birthday in August - it was hard to wait that long to give it to her. She loves it, although after taking it out of the box, she kept trying to pick it up and move it when it hit furniture. I know she'll figure out how to move the pieces around to get different movements. I think I saw something about expansion pieces for this item; if so, I'll get that for Christmas. She took the toy to her house after the party, so I don't know how much she's used it. I was very pleased with the durability of the product; it appears to be very well made. I'm sure her parents are looking for a way to mute the sound though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique Toy with Sturdy Construction The Code-a-pillar is visually an attractive toy. It has a cute face, makes various sounds, and when it walks music plays and lights flash. Our 4-year-old girl immediately was drawn to it. I was concerned that the body segments would be difficult or fragile to put together, but after being shown how to snap the pieces together she was able to assemble it easily by herself. It is fun to try different arrangement of pieces with the goal of having Code-a-pillar walk to a designated spot. It does take a fair amount of space for the Code-a-pillar to walk if one uses all the segments. Our girl likes to have her miniature toys go for a ride on Code-a-pillar's back. We like that Code-a-pillar can be paused by pressing the on/off button while it is walking. I wish it had an off button or at least a low volume button for the sounds. The tune it plays is pleasant for about the first 20 times; after that the tune gets stuck in my head! I like that it will turn off after a period of inactivity in order to extend the life of the batteries (4 AA). The Code-a-pillar seems quite durable for an electronic toy. Our girl likes it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool new friend The light and sound features make it a fun toy, although a volume button would be nice. It sounds like the Code-a-pillar is talking to you if left unattended for too long. My grandson says" he wants me to play with him." At 4 years old, my grandson is a little young to understand how to put the segments together so it will go from one disk to the other. He just wants it to go. It gave her the opportunity to use her imagination in different ways. The caterpillar makes a fun sound, and changing his pieces in different ways makes for hours of fun. I would recommend this product to anyone with young children as it helps children to develop many skills that are necessary for learning. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute with great sound effects I think this toy needs a large area in order for the caterpillar to work well. I have a 9 x 12 kitchen that was really too small. My grandson got frustrated because every time it hit something, it would stop. If you straightened it up, you had to start all over because it would not continue on its path. Jon loved the sounds that the caterpillar made and he thought the lights were fun. I think on a basketball court-this would be great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So versatile, so many ways to play! First of all it's very loud and needs a volume control. Beyond that, its a great toy. Everyone in the family from age 4 to 53 has had fun with this toy. When it's not turned on my 4 year old granddaughter loves to carry it around like its a baby doll. The parts connect and reconnect easy enough, so my 4 year old granddaughter can code it without help. It runs very well on both the tile floor and the carpet. My granddaughter is having so much fun planning trips around the house, testing how far it goes in any direction before it uses the next code to change direction. We love how excited she gets planning trips and learning how it moves around the house. I see this toy as an adaptable toy to grow with that she will use for a long time since you can buy more sections to add to it. My granddaughters friend is 9 and she really enjoyed testing it and planning trips through an obstacle course too! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A little more complicated than I expected, but once you figure it out, it's fine. It should have a volume control, it's a little loud. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept his intrest My four year old grandson was so excited when I showed him the Think & Learn Code-a-pillar. He understood the concept of it quickly. He loved the lights and the colours. We all liked the music, it won't bother us when he plays for a long time. At first he was too excited and didn't have the patience to wait till the lights all came on. He put it on our hardwood floors and it moved perfectly. He then started changing the pattern with some adult help. All the adults (5) took turns having him explain how it works. He kept coming back to it and playing by himself. As he was leaving his mother told him she would carry his code-a-pillar, he didn't want to let go. My daughter said he played with it until bedtime. I feel this was a great success. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun toy The Think & Learn Code-a-pillar was enjoyed by my 4 year old granddaughter. It did take awhile for her to understand the concept, once she did she had fun trying to make it reach a target, and go under and around chairs and tables. The color coded directionals were easy for her to manipulate as was the on off switch The music and sounds, although loud, added to her fun. Would have liked the directionals to last longer and it would have been nice to have at least one more of each direction instead of having to buy an expansion pack.. I think this is a great concept for kids; one in which she will grow with. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

It is durable and is doing well with my very active Grandson. He's tuff on his toys and nothing broke. The pieces are easy to connect and it does exactly what the package says. Which is really nice. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Curious When ithe product arrived .we very excited and overwhelmed with the ability to provide my grandchild with more of directional instructions. the main thing that kind of bothered my grandson was the loud sounds for the toy. He enjoyed the lights and putting the different pieces together so that the caterpillar would move in different directions. if the voice modulator on the product was a little softer and told the child which direction it was going in. I believe that would more beneficial for the toddler's development. the toy is very child friendly easy to put together durable and if it runs into an object it stops automatically then once you move it and it resumes the direction that you program it with. Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent problem solving toy! My four year old granddaughter loves this toy. She took to it immediately and was all about changing the pieces to make the codes do all kinds of configurations. She learned really fast how to change up the orders to keep it from bumping into furniture and avoid wall crashes. Pieces were easy for her little hands to take apart and put back together with ease. The lights and sounds would prompt her to change up orders to keep him going the way she intended. And the little songs when the code went as planned is a cute touch! She loves the Code a pillar so much she even pops him up on the table to eat lunch with him. A very good problem solving toy that keeps her entertained for hours. (Grandpa even joined in to help her work out new configurations so it actually keeps little ones and bigger ones entertained!) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable, inquisitive and imaginative STEM toy I had been waiting very patiently for the release of the code pillar since I first read about it in January. My toddler and preschooler play with every single day. They are constantly taking him apart and reassembling him and watching him move about. He has adorable colors and sounds. We've already purchased one expansion pack and will be buying the other two! It's real quality!
