Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trendy and popular toy Interactive and well liked toy. A bit on the expensive side considering kids lose interest fairly quickly in the toy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Annoying. While my girls were suuuper excited to open these, they really only played with them for a few days before becoming bored. Too convoluted for little ones who cannot read the directions and as far as i am concerned, very annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nephew really liked it I personally don't understand what is so exciting about these toys. Like the fidget spinners, these toys went wild. My nephew asked for one for Christmas, so I decided why not. Maybe I am just too old to understand why kids are so enthralled with these. Coming from an era of Nintendo and going outside to play my understanding of children is a little dense. However, with that being said. He really liked it. He was so excited to play with it. Would I recommend this product? Yes, because it is popular and yes because it was a big hit with him.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hatchimals Surprise Peacat My daughter got this as a gift. I had no idea there were 2 inside. She played with them for a bit, but that was pretty much it. Thankfully they have an off switch and are not still chatting with each other in her toy bin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun The hatching of the egg is where all of the fun is. The kids do still occasionally play with the hatchimals, but not enough for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They are cute These are cute. But do note that if buying for two kids (to have 1 each), one has more functionality than the other. Maybe not more but different and could be perceived as better and create issues :) One moves while the other does not. One child will want the head moving back and forth with wings moving - and it won't. It will just talk. Still very cute but definitely pricey.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just Okay My daughter was very excited during the hatching process, but once they were out, she played with her old hatchimal as she found it more interactive. After about two weeks of owning them, she finally began playing with them and within one day, twin B ran out of batteries and require a different type other than the typical AA/AAA batteries. I would suggest buying the individual hatchimal for your child rather than the twins.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from hatchimal twins Saw these at a friends, definitely not what I thought it would be, could be better with the tech we have today. I think they cut corners to save money, one is all about sounds and does not move his head or move really, the other is a bit more like a hatchimal I guess. Seriously, just buy an original single hatchimal or wait until they invent hatchimal that communicate or link together somehow, they always end up doing that to all toys. (ex: tamogotchi, furby, etc)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kids Love It I was hesitant to jump on the Hatchimal bandwagon, but being a mother of an almost 8 year old daughter, I knew this day would eventually come. I gave my daughter the new hatchimal surprise. I really didn’t even know what it was, just that it seems to be the latest toy people fight over in the mall parking lot on black Friday. Needless to say, I was as skeptical as can be,. I surprised my daughter with it after school a week before her birthday. She was totally surprised, and even though she hadn’t asked for a hatchimal, she was very excited to see what they are all about. She ripped the box open and we immediately set out to get the egg to hatch. Setup was easy. Batteries were already in the toy & all we had to do was remove 2 keys from the bottom of the egg. She immediately heard sounds & saw lights coming from the egg. She and her 4 tear old brother wandered the house cuddling the egg. After about a half hour she saw the first crack I in the top of the egg. Shortly thereafter, a little blue creature poked out. She pulled it out & squealed when she realized there was a pink creature in the egg as well. She and her brother spent the rest of the evening interacting with the hatchimals & trying to get them to go from babies to toddlers. My daughter said they got to the toddler phase later that night & by the next day she said they reached the kid phase. (I can’t confirm whether that’s true, I can’t figure out what the hatchimal are saying half the time.) Two days later my kids are still pretty obsessed with the hatchimals (thankfully there were 2 because there would have been a lot of tears if they had to share just one). So here are the positives as I see it: The hatching part is super fun. Even as an adult, I was excited to see what was in the egg. There are 2 hatchimal in the egg. If you have more than one child that’s a big bonus. The hatchimal are cute & soft & the kids love seeing what they can get them to do. They play music, they can repeat sounds your child records, they move around a bit, so there’s room for kids to interact with them. They seem pretty sturdy. My 4 year old dropped them more times than I could count & so far they keep on ticking. This wouldn’t be a very honest review if I didn’t point out the negatives, so I will. Once they hatch, they don’t seem all that different from the other zillion talking stuffed animal creatures in the toy store. Maybe they are better than the rest, but through my boring adult eyes, they all look pretty similar. They seem to move through the baby & toddler phases pretty quickly. I understand why, kids aren’t known for being patient & sticking with things that take a long time to pay off, but I wonder how long the kids will stay interested when they’ve gotten to the kid phase & there’s nowhere else to go. But the biggest negative in my mind is that they are pretty loud & the constant sounds can be kind of annoying (to adults, kids love annoying sounds). Overall I give it a thumbs up because it’s entertained my kids for 2 days, and not too many toys do that. I question how long it can hold their interest, but for now it’s fun for them. I guess when you’re looking for the perfect gift for your child, that’s really all that matters. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gift for kids! We loved our Hatchimals Giraven twins! My kids are 8 and 7, and have really been enjoying these. We have the regular hatchimals, and both kids have actually liked these better. The hatching was quicker and easier with this set. It took about 10-15 minutes total, and the kids stayed interested and interacted the whole time to get them to hatch. They both came out ready to play, and the kids were excited to see which colors they got! Each set comes with two “twin” hatchimals, but may be one of two color sets. My kids were happy to see what they got and each claimed one hatchimal without arguing (a rare thing!). Once they started interacting, they were a lot of fun. The kids are able to easily decide what their hatchimal wants according to the color of the lights in the eyes and the chart that comes with. My only complaint is that one hatchimal has a whole rainbow of colors, while the other only has two, so you really have to pay attention to how much the lights are blinking, etc. This didn’t seem to bother my kiddos at all, though. The twin hatchimals will also interact with each other and other hatchimals. They will dance, play and do “call and answer” type games. The kids have enjoyed watching them play together and introducing them to the other hatchimals in our home. Overall, this set was a hit! I’m very happy with the amount of play they’re getting and the quality of the set we got! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Double Fun I had never seen a Hatchimal before so I really didn't know what to expect. My 6 year old daughter was very intrigued when I told her we were going to hatch the egg. She took over and snuggled, stroked, and talked to it. The look of delight on her face when it made sounds, lit up, and started cracking was priceless. It hatched quite quickly in less than an hour. She was thrilled to find TWO animals inside! We actually played with them for 2-3 hours after hatching trying to figure out all the sounds and flashing light codes which were a little confusing even with the cheat sheet. Each animal having different features and skills was kind of neat but also made it hard to follow the instruction guide. I finally ended up writing "A" and "B" on each one so we could differentiate the two because my daughter likes to really follow directions and wanted to pet them, feed them, etc when they signaled. It was also difficult to tell when they moved from one stage to the next. One of them will record your voice and play it back but we've only been able to make that happen once. They have provided a lot of fun and entertainment, but she has not touched them for the last week or two. I really liked that all batteries (2 AA and 3 LR44) were included and it was ready for her to start hatching right out of the package. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful surprise The Hatchimals Surprise is such an awesome toy. Although I'd heard of it, Me and my 6 year old didn't quite know what to expect. We were definitely in for a treat! The packaging was easy to open and the egg was a pretty good size. My daughter was super excited because the egg was a bit large she could tell something was inside. I read the instructions and advised her to start rubbing, cuddling, and talking to her egg. The egg began to glow, light up, shake a bit, and we could hear noises coming from inside much to our delight. After a few minutes, the egg shell begin to crack and we saw a furry head begin to emerge. There was a furry baby that hatched, eyes glowing, wings moving, and it was making noises. Then it began to sing "Happy Birthday". My daughter started giggling and singing along. Then she said loudly, "mommy, there is another one down inside and it's coming out too"!! She was very excited. The second furry baby also emerged and was also babbling with it's eyes lighting up a different color. We had a set of very cute identical twins!! I looked at the enclosed cheat sheet to determine which Hatchimal was who, because they each have their own personality and needs. The Hatchimals are also able to interact with each other when facing each other. You can press on their heads, stroke their sides, etc to get the furry babies to interact. According to the guide, the Hatchimals twins will start as babies, then move to toddler stage, then on to kids. My daughter has had hours of fun playing with her Peacat Hatchimals. She loves taking care of them and watching their responses to her. I would definitely recommend this toy for the holiday, gift giving, or just because. It is a joy and treat and allows your child to practice a bit of nurturing and responsibility. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun to care for, cute and interactive! Hatchimals Peacat Twins is an interactive robotic AI type toy that interacts with children and each other! They start in an egg that must hatch with interaction in order to play with the twins. The twins go through stages from baby, toddler, and child; changing their behavior in each stage. My 7 year old daughter has been in love with Hatchimals since they first game out on the market. She was sooooo excited by the idea of twins! When she first opened the box with the Peacat Hatchimals she spent all day carrying the egg around, encouraging hatching. The egg went with us to the store, the horse stable, and I'm fairly certain, the bathroom. Finally, it hatched; I'm sure there was some assistance! The two little Hatchimals Peacats were adorable! After reading the card that came in the package insert we learned that they were in the baby stage. We learned what the eye colors and sounds mean. She had a blast figuring out what what they were saying and letting them talk to each other. My 11 year old swooped in and began playing with one of them and it was nice that the two of them could play together in a constructive fashion. The kids, mostly my 7 year old, has continued to play with the Peacats they have developed into the toddler stage. Eventually, they will grow into the childhood stage. The needs of the toys change as they move through the stages, and the way they interact with each other changes as well. My daughter still enjoys them and plays with them almost daily. From a parent perspective, they are great for constructive play, teaching empathy by caring for something, and since there are two both of my kids can play together. However, as a parent, I find them noisy. There is quite a bit of cooing, giggling, and squeaking that happens, and the toys make nose too! ;-) It is nice there are off switches. I also like that for a more expensive toy the fun doesn't end after a few days, it can be played with for a long time, maintaining the kids interest. Rated 4 out of 5 by from hatchimals My 7 year old daughter couldnt wait to get her hands on this. I live in a Hawaii so it took a long time before I actually received the box this past week. The instructions are fairly straight forward and it only took my daughter less than 10 minutes to hatch the twin peacats. I was a little disappointed in the fact that it hatched so quickly & didn't give her more time to anticipate it hatching. Her twin brothers were also fascinated w/the peacats & they wanted to help raise them w/her. I think she is still at the baby phase w/them because it is a little confusing to tell where they are at according to the cheat sheet. I'm also a little disappointed in the fact that only one of the peacats can move on it's own. I think both moving on it's own would've been great! She and her brothers have been interacting with both peacats after school but we still seem to be stuck in one phase. I don't know how much more we can do to move on but luckily they love playing with them. They were also excited to have this since it's a hard item to find in Hawaii-its always sold out! I think this is a great toy that will engage a younger age group for hours on end & they love the excitement of hatching their own friends & the surprise that comes with it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of Fun for Boys and Girls The house was abuzz when our Hatchimals Giraven arrived. Everyone couldn’t wait to see what was inside and how they would hatch. After a quick read through the instructions, we started the hatching process. There really wasn’t a mention of how long this would take. I’m not sure if it’s standardized, but our egg was fully hatched in under 30 minutes! We got a pink and a blue Hatchimal. Originally this was intended for my 7-year old daughter, but the blue one was quickly claimed by my 3-year old son. They both love to interact with them and sometimes I find them gently cuddling them while watching TV; the Hatchimal quietly cooing. I think they will provide lots of entertainment for years to come. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexpected Family Fun I know Hatchimals started their reign Christmas 2016 and I managed to avoid it with my girls. I was eager though to try this out and my daughters were super excited too. The packaging is fun. The directions were a little unclear (Rub the bottom? The actual bottom or the bottom sides?) but I knew we had to take of the egg and something would hatch. We took turns...trying to decode what the lights meant and a short amount of time later we hatched twin hatchimals. They are quite addictive to take care of and we wanted to keep watch to see them grow up. They seem to truly interact with the user and each other. It's fascinating. I love the twins. I have two daughters and this way both girls get to sort of "raise" one yet they are working together. The coding of the lights does get a little confusing. My hope is that as we continue to play, it becomes clearer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Double the fun My test subject was a 5 year old little girl and one of our favorite parts to do together was coddling the egg. We took turns petting and tilting it. I wish it actually took longer to hatch. This hatchimal hatched in about an hour so time the hatching accordingly. She didn't know there were two and squealed with delight as one cracked its way out of the top and then saw there was another at the bottom. currently they coo and jibber-jabber at each other. My daughter is totally enamored that she sleeps with them at night. I'd say that's kid tested, mom-approved. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A twin surprise My daughter was so sad when she didn't get her Hatchimal last Christmas because it was sold out everywhere and even Santa wasn't able to get her one. After s long way she got her new Hatchimal with an even bigger surprise. Instead of just one animal we got twins. Two Hatchimals hatched out of the egg. It didn't take as long as the previous version (from what I've heard). In about 8 minutes one of the babies started to peck through the egg. Not only my seven year old was excited. After a short while we got both out of the egg. We got two Giraven girls (I think they come either as girl/girl, girl/boy or boy/boy). You can tell them easily apart because their color pattern is slightly different so are their ears and feet) and they couldn't be any cuter. Each one can do something different. I love that they interact not only with the kid but with themselves too. They talk to each other and you can play games with them. One of them grew up faster than the other and went through all the different stages a tad faster than the other. They start out as babies and then go from toddler to kid. Each stage has different things the Hatchimals can do. I was thinking the whole time how perfect this would be for a gift for 2 siblings close in age. Each could get their own Hatchimal with it's own personality and things they can do but they would be better together and the kids could play together with their baby animals. I'm just slightly disappointed that only one of them moves but the other can record what you are saying instead. They are still pretty pricey for a kids toy but you could get two gifts out of them and for what they can do I guess the price is ok. Although as a parent I had to swallow hard when I saw the price. Nevertheless I think this new Hatchimal would be a great toy for kids ages between 4 and probably 10. My daughter and her friends like to play with them for a while till they move on to different things (the way kids are). My daughter is happy and that's what counts. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Gift for Siblings. Super cute! I think that the Hatchimals concept is a great idea. The best part for my daughters, ages 8 and 10, was waiting to see what surprise was inside the shell. They were excited as they anticipated the hatching process. I enjoyed watching them giggle, joke, and guess what was inside. They were both shocked to see TWINS! This Hatchimal is perfect for siblings because each can have a new "friend" to care for after hatching and it encourages them to play together. However, the Hatchimal toys were less exciting for my girls after they hatched. Constantly referring to the guide to figure out what their flashing eye color meant can be tedious especially with the frequent changing. This would not be good for children who cannot read yet. My girls would have enjoyed it more if the flashing indicates a task or activity your Hatchimal needs that cannot be remedied in mere seconds. Needs to be more lasting. Speaking of lasting, the hatching process could definitely be drawn out more than 15 minutes. I think it would be great if it at least took an hour or even 15 minute increments over several days before the Hatchimal was ready. That would increase the anticipation of meeting your new friend and create more of a connection/relationship. Overall, I like the concept but think it could be improved with a longer hatching process and clearer, as well as easier to understand needs from the magical creature as it progresses through its various life stages. If your children loves be nurturing and providing care to their pets or baby dolls, this toy would be perfect for him or her! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loves them It was a really neat experience to have my daughter watch it hatch. It teaches responsibility because she knows that she has to take care of it in order for it to hatch. The anticipation of waiting for it to hatch to see which ones you receive. She enjoys taking care of it and how it reacts to the different type of stimulation. I will definitely be buying this again and recommending them to others. They eggs may take a few days to hatch so don’t get discouraged. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great surprise I was very pleased with the product. I was not aware there were twins inside prior to opening the box. The egg was huge and my kids, aged 5 and 6, were both very excited to hatch it. The hatching process took about 20 minutes or so with lots of lights and cooing from inside the egg. Once it hatched the kids loved there were 2 inside. The quick reference guide on what all the lights meant was a life saver. With both kids coming to ask what was going on, it was great to have the guide handy. It was also nice to know that each hatchimal sang a happy birthday song when graduating to the next stage. We were able to get the twins to do their special tricks both separately and were able to get them to play together. To have the twins was great because each kid had something to play with. One twin was more musical and the other was more of a mover/dancer. It allowed the kids to switch back and forth and not get bored. I really liked that they graduated through the stages quickly, about a half an hour to get to next stage. It kept the kids invested but not frustrated that it took a long time to get to the next stage. The only thing that got overwhelming was trying to figure out what the twins needed during the baby phase. A lot of lights and sounds and with both going it was a little much. Overall, Great product and would recommend, especially if you have 2 kiddos close in age. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Hatchimals! Perfect Peacats It’s been a long time since I’ve seen my 5 year old so excited about a toy. It was such a delight to watch her literally vibrate with excitement as she held the Hatchimals egg for the first time and we heard sounds and saw lights coming from the egg. When the egg started to crack she was so excited that she almost dropped it. She was thrilled that there were twin animals and she actually shared with her older brother. The two of them nurtured the Peacats together and it was the cutest thing! The Hatchimals were such a hit with these kids – I can’t recommend them highly enough! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Family fun I have to say I was skeptical about this product after seeing the reviews and social media posts last Christmas. This has truly been the best product so far, mainly because it was fun family bonding. Who wouldn't love a product where the family has fun with it together. So to our surprise, the hatchimal surprise peacat lived up to the promised expectation. My 5 year old had a blast rubbing, tapping and listening to the egg. The they hatched. Without error or complications. These have got to be the cutest things ever. My daughter played with them and got them thru all their stages of life. Our favorite part is when they sing together. So in summary, We were very pleased and highly recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hatchimals Joy I think Hatchimals Surprise is a amazing gift for all Children. It gives the element of surprise. You have to follow instructions with this interactive toy. Which is great because it teaches children patience and you have to work and you will see the benefits of all that hard work. I love how the egg in the first stage changes colors and that you have to do different things for Egg to react; for example pink you listen for a heartbeat, you hold the bottom, red is that it's upset, orange it needs to burp, flashing orange is Hiccups ,yellow it is curious, green sick, blue cold, white sleepy. Hatchimals is a lot more interactive than I expected it to be. My Daughter enjoyed the whole nurturing aspect of the toy. The more you interact with the egg the more the hatchlings interact with you. When the twins hatch it's lots of fun. It encourages the kids to hatch by rubbing the bottom and you can pull them out the Rainbow Lights appear which ones are ready to hatch . When they finally hatch their considered in the baby stage you can take care of them by feeding them, cuddling them .The Twins talk to each other which is adorable they also let you know if they're upset, need to burp, hiccups, curious, sick, cold etc.The twins evolve with your caretaking. what a fantastic concept. I think it's also, great if you have two children since they're two toys so it teaches them about cooperating and working together as a team. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turned a Bad Day Around I was waiting for a special day to give this to my 6 year old daughter. The other day she came home, sad, upset, and claiming she had just had the "worst day if first grade ever!" Bingo. She squeezed with delight when I brought it out for her. Once we got it out of the box she immediately got to work, touching and talking to the egg to coax the Hatchimal out. How did she even know how to do this? We've never had a Hatchimal before. Within 15-20 minutes it started to hatch. And at this point she started to FREAK OUT WITH Joy because it was twins!!! Neither of us had expected this and it was super exciting. Ever since she has been playing constantly with her Hatchimals. (I don't remember what she named them - the names change all the time!) She takes them to bed with her at night and plays with them first thing when she gets home from school. She loves that they 'talk' to each other and thinks it's so cute when they act sad when they're away from each other for too long. She also likes to have dance parties with them. Several of her friends have come over to see her new 'pets' and all have had a great time playing. So far no one has gotten bored with them! I fully recommend this toy! It's exciting to see them hatch, and then even more fun to interact with them. The fact that there are twins makes it twice as fun! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a...TWIN What a fun idea-Hatchimals Twins! I have 2 girls (3 & 5) and they were just super excited to get the new toy. I didn't tell them it will be a pair of Giraven. They were so surprised when the egg hatched not 1 but 2 toys. For me, I was happy that they can have 1 toy to share yet, each got a reward in the end. Very happy mama! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Cute Toy!!! When our package arrived the kids were very excited to see what was in the egg as they have never had a Hatchimal before. My six year old girl held the egg first and rubbed it as the instructions stated. Then it was her brother's turn who is 4 years old. He held the egg like a baby and sang to it and rubbed it. All of a sudden I hear this gasp of amazement as the egg began to hatch. What fun they both had watching this process happen! As the egg hatched the first twin came up through the egg and we were able to pull her out easily from there. The second twin needed a bit more "coaching" and some help with the egg shell but was also easy to remove. From there the twins begin to grow from babies to kids. At first it was confusing for the kids to know what to do with the twins as there are several different lights that mean something, but over time it has been easier. Once the twins were able to do their special tricks, my kids were hooked. They especially like when the twins get together and sing and dance as well as being able to record their own voices. We have had this toy for 2 weeks now and the kids play with the twins daily. What joy this has brought to our home! The one thing I will say is that we could not get the egg to hatch at first until we pulled the tabs off the bottom. We did not find this to be clear in the instructions. After that it only took about 10-15 minutes before it hatched. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing once again!!! My daughter received a hatchamial last year and loved it so much! Since it was such a huge success we had to get the peacat twins!! My girls love them. They had so much fun watching them open up and start right from the beginning. The colors are vibrant and go together so nice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Double the Fun! Our household is quite accustomed to the Hatchimal world since they were all the rage last Christmas. Imagine my girls (6 and 3) reactions when they learned they were going to hatch TWINS!! Hatching process is similar to the original Hatchimal with the lights and sounds, but they hatch out the top and not the side this time, and goodness, are they adorable! They sing hatchy birthday and the more you interact with them, the quicker they 'mature' to their other stages (toddler, child). These guys are fun because they interact with you AND with each other. One loves to dance and the other to sing. Put them face to face and they interact. Adorable. The only downside, as with the orignal, is that they tired of playing with them after about 30 minutes. I think part of it can be attributed to their young age and the complexity of knowing what each eye color (mood) means and not being able to read. Older children (say 8-10) would probably have an easier time grasping the concept. Also, only one of the twins moves and they don't roll along the floor as the original did so that's a bit of a disappointment. Nonetheless, my girls still sleep with their Hatchimals every night, even if they do tend to treat them more as a stuffed animal than an interactive friend. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome but don't do it on a weeknight! My 6 year old daughter has been asking for a Hatchimal for two years. I thought they were adorable, but honestly, I have a hard time paying that much for a toy. When I finally surprised her with Hatchimals Surprise, we were not expecting twins! She was super excited to see more than one hatchimal in there. As was I. The twins on the package should have been a clue, but hey...I'm blonde. I love the concept. And I think there is a lot to learn from these toys. Its good for kids to learn about caring for something, especially if you're like our family and have no pets. The kids get to learn responsibility without practicing on an actual living thing, which is perfect for smaller children. Bringing the Hatchimals from eggs to kids is a lot of work. Unfortunately, I ended up doing most of it. My daughter is very impatient. So a lot of the tapping and rubbing so they hatched I had to do. Then I had to read the directions to her so that she could interact and give the Hatchimals what they need. And when it "didn't work" when she did it, I had to do a lot of the caring for them as well. Now that she's had them for a while and can figure out how to interact and care for them, my daughter still loves them. I'm so happy she has them! Since shes an only child, she really loves the interactive toys. (Apparently they're more fun to play with than I am!) Overall, I think Hatchimals Surprise is a huge hit. My only caution to other parents is that smaller kids will likely need help with this. When you hatch them, do it on a weekend when you will be home and have plenty of time to devote to it. It's definitely not an activity to begin on a school night! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations! The new Hatchimals Surprise toys is awesome! We had the chance to surprise our daughter with this for her 7th birthday. This was our first experience with the full sized Hatchimals so we were all pretty interested in seeing how this thing worked. It definitely helped having the detailed instruction guide and I recommend having one parent read the guide and instruct the child in order not to prematurely break the egg. When the egg started to hatch it was honestly thrilling and fun to watch. My daughter got a huge kick out of it. We all had fun looking up the different colors and signals to see what the twins needed at that moment. I think that the different life stages feature is great and will extend the satisfaction for the child. The toys go from infant to toddler to child and the activities change to coincide with each stage just like a real child. I had a negative impression of the Hatchimals concept before we got this model, thinking that once the egg hatched all that was left was a basic stuffed animal. I am so glad that I was proven wrong. I think this is a fun, interactive toy and it may actually teach children about responsibility and how hard you have to work to take care of something while also being fun. It is also good to note that the toys can be switched off to save battery life. My daughter exclaimed that this made it her best birthday ever. You can’t beat that! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hatchimals a big surprise hit! I loved the Hatchimals Surprise! I was a bit unfamiliar with the product before I got it and was very curious about how it worked. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hatchimal surprise This is a really cute product. My 5yo daughter had a blast nursing the egg along until it hatched. I really wished the hatching experience lasted longer. That was the best part for my 5yo as she could hear it inside the egg. She built it a nest, would pat it, rub it, turn it upside down and watch to see if it was hatching. The egg would glow and make noises as she did this which brought big smiles. Once it hatched, we were surprised to find two critters. Perfect since i have 2 girls! They both had a blast playing with them. I was surprised to find so many ways in which they could interact with each other. Even games that could be played, though i have yet to take the time to figure out how to play them all. They make all kinds of noise, sing happy birthday as they hatch, move around and the eyes glow. They are pretty cute. Unfortunately, the first day with them was full of fun, but by the next day, the novelty had worn off and they joined the pile of other toys. Once in a while i drag one out to make my 2yo smile, but otherwise they sit in the pile. I should take the time to learn how the games work to see if they become a hit again. Bottom line... they are fun and have lots to offer, but not worth spending a great deal to get. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Twice as nice as the surprise is TWINS! We took our Hatchimals egg to the in laws so my daughter could share the experience with her cousins. After removing the two "keys" in the bottom of the egg, we all took turns stroking, patting, flipping, and tapping the egg. Inside the egg, the creature's eyes would light up different colors and he'd chatter. (In the instructions, it says when the Hatchimals eyes are rainbow, he's ready to hatch. We found that the yellow eyes kind of appear like rainbow but it's actually when the eyes rotate between all the colors that it's ready to hatch. Also, a mechanical sound starts from the bottom of the egg.) It took about 20 minutes before the "top" Hatchimal broke through the top of the egg. My daughter, 5, and her cousins, 5 and 7, were excited and unusually patient as the little guy continued to crack through the egg. When his head was all the way out, he sang the "Hatchy Birthday" song, much to the delight of the kids. My daughter pulled him the rest of way out and was about to run off with him when her cousin says "there's two of them!" while looking in the egg. She took out the "bottom" one and they sat them on the counter. The twins immediately began chattering with each other. Around the room (from adults, no less) were expressions of "awww they talk to each other...that's so cute". The little wings on the Peacat even move electronically on their own, too. My daughter made it her mission to memorize what the eye colors meant and was sure to point out when I was doing the wrong thing when I was "hatchysitting". (I.e. Green=sick, purple=hungry, etc) The Hatchimals go through 3 stages of "development" and sing the "Hatchy Birthday" song when advancing to the next stage. Our Hatchimals went through the entire process during the 3 hours we were at the in laws. It would be better if that were dragged out over like 3 days or something because once the Hatchimals were "kids" and they played a few games, the real kids weren't as interested. It's been a week and my daughter has only played with them an additional two times when her cousin was over. All in all, the Hatching experience was the best part about the toy. They are fairly well made, but I wouldn't let our 2 year old nephew play with them as he can be rough with toys and they're definitely not indestructible. Worth the money? Sure! For the Hatching experience. But don't be surprised if the kids get bored when the Hatchimals aren't doing something new. The next best part about Hatchimals that you won't find on some other electronic "pets", the on/off switch!!! Not only does it save batteries, but sanity as well! Rated 3 out of 5 by from Time Will Tell My almost 6 year old daughter was so ecstatic to get Hatchimals and was completely obsessed with them for 3 days; they were all she played with! She was so excited to watch them hatch, analyze their eye color, and figure out how to take care of them and play games with them. However, now she just keeps them among numerous stuffed animals on her bed and doesn't turn them on often. She does, however, keep telling me she wants one for her birthday so she can watch them hatch again. I'm not sure the gift is worth the price tag (at this age at least), but I'm eager to see if her interest in them is renewed later on. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Novel idea, but excitement is brief I have a 6 year old girl and 4 year old boy. The idea of having two toys being able to interact with each other is amazing! The initial idea of the toy was overwhelming to them. They were super excited about getting it to hatch. We did miss the first instruction to remove the bottom latches on the egg as that was in a different spot than the rest of the instructions. Sadly, this caused some initial frustration but we got it going! Once the egg initialized, the kids really enjoyed the color changing and tapping. It was 15 minutes of rubbing and tapping of the egg with pure excitement. Completely had their full attention. The hatching process was only a few minutes but was super exciting with each crack of the egg. Minds were blown when TWO Giravens were born! Once the we had full babies, the kids were enthralled with the changing eyes and the movement. The Giravens interacted and it made both brother and sister happy. They are the best of friends and now they have toys he same way. The excitement ended much quicker than expected. After about 10 minutes, they were done. The eyes changed every 30-60 seconds which required a different action to take. It was hard for them to keep up and remember which action to take. My six year old reads at a third grade level but still needed me to tell her what to do. “It’s hard for my head to remember.” Our egg was hatched 4 nights ago and the Giravens have been turned on one other time, for about 2 minutes. Otherwise, they have sat on the table but not played with, even when turned off. I asked the kids if they liked it and they responded with an enthusiastic, “YES!” But when asking if they want to turn them on, they shrug their shoulders. They don’t even want to keep the toy in their room as they are afraid it will turn on in the middle of the night. This was great and exciting for a total of 30 minutes. Now it collects dust. Overall, this is unique and exciting. It was worth seeing the joy in their eyes. I wished it lasted more than 30 minutes. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent gift for my little girl My daughter turned 7 on Wednesday. Like most little ones, she's seen the Hatchimals in the stores and has shown interest in them. When she opened this package on Wednesday you would have thought all of her Christmases had come at once lol. The colors are vibrant and engaging so she was quickly drawn in to see what would come from the egg in the box. The interactive hatching process kept her entertained the entire 20 minutes it took these little guys to emerge. When they hatched and sang the "Happy Hatch Day" song, she was over the moon. Spike and Shimmer, as they've been named wiggled and cooed to my daughter with their brightly mitt eyes and pink, purple & teal fur. They were instant pals. As a parent, don't expect to understand them lol Your little one will love them, though. That's really all that matters, right? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from cutest surprise ever! My children were delighted when I surprised them with their new Hatchimal and asked if they could help mommy take care of it so the babies would hatch! Unfortunately, they aren't very patient and the lights and sounds during the hatching phase were a little hard to see so they didn't get much out of it until they were able to hatch them. The Peacat twins are so cute! Love that there were 2 so each child got one. Since they've hatched the kids have had so much fun taking care of them and playing with them. I don't think the lights always align with the directions which is a bit frustrating for children. I would recommend familiarizing yourself with the quick start guide as much as you can before the kids start hatching so that you can help them work towards the next phases. Both kids have had so much fun taking care of them and playing with them together, I would say this is a definite winner! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great even for older kids My daughter is 8 years old and considers herself too mature for most toys. However, the Hatchimals egg immediately captured her interest. She loved caring for the egg and waiting for it to hatch. (In fact, I think she would have liked the anticipation of waiting for it to hatch even longer...) The egg and the hatched animals communicate with your child via color (whether they are sick, hungry, etc.) The egg held twins, which definitely kept my daughter busy! Both the egg and the animals make lots of noise (which you can turn off) - this really kept my daughter engaged for a long period of time. Everything worked great with the product and I think it made an awesome birthday gift - the star of the show! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The surprise that keeps on giving My daughter was delighted with her twin peacats. The hatchimal surprise is so much for fun than previous versions, as there are two inside the egg. We also had a very easy time hatching these as they hatch from the top of the egg. My daughter has enjoyed cuddling and playing with them which also helps to them to grow. The twins concept has been so much fun for my daughter as the two peacats each have a different personality and they can interact with each other or with my daughter. I really think this product is so much better than other versions. This is a great idea because the kids get to watch the different stages of growth for the peacats from egg to hatching to newborn to toddler. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Grieven Twins are adorable My girls are 3 and 6 and they loved hatching their HATCHIMAL. The giravens are adorable and they were so excited they each got one. Once they started playing with them and we read the cheat sheet about their moods, we realized that one of the twins had much more functions and moods, and the other one just reacted to dominate one. I would have much preferred them to be able to be played with separately or together. My 6 yr old immediately tricked her little sister into switching so she could have the better one. Otherwise they love to play with them, because they don’t really play with them the way they are intended. They made beds and pretend with them, which if fine too. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two times the fun My daughters love the new Hatchimals Surprise. The twin stuffed Giraven (two separate items when opened) means that once they are hatched, the girls can play together. The toy indicates it is for five and up but the reading of the helpful hints for reacting to the various lights and sounds suggests it is more appropriate for 6-8 year olds. I was also happy to see that they continued to hold the girls' interest beyond just the initial hatching. This is a truly unique toy that will provide hours of cooperative play. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hatchimals just a little annoying I was so excited to let my five year old daughter try out her Hatchimals. I read the directions and told her how to get the egg to hatch. After about 15 minutes of variou colored lights and different sounds, the egg hatched and out popped two purple cat-like creatures. My daughter was elated. But, I wasn't so much. While the concept of this animal is totally cool, the responses to the colors and differ animals got to be overwhelming. If this toy is meant for 5 year olds, it certainly isn't meant for five year olds who CANNOT read. I was on call for what seemed like forever, reading the helpful hints for my daughter to let her know what the colors meant and what she needed to do. We also had a hard time figuring out what stage the animals were in, as, a song would play (which was supposed to signify a change life stage) but the lights and sounds didn't match up with what it explained it to be. After a couple hours, my daughter got frustrated with them and 'put them to sleep'. She hasn't played with them since. All in all, the concept of this toy is a cute one, but, the constant color/sound/response needed is best left for a child that can read. Lots of money to pay for a toy that frustrated the target audience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a BIG BIG BIG hit I never understood my girls desire for another electronic creature. Last Christmas this was the "IT" toy and I couldn't find it anywhere, unless of course I wanted to pay the obscene prices private sellers were asking for. However the girls obsession with the Hatchimals brand never waivered despite the fact they didn't have a full size toy. We have the minis and the puzzles and the small stuffed versions so to be able to hand over a Hatchimal to them made me the best person in the universe as far they were concerned! They of course had no idea that this was no ordinary Hatchimal that their friends have but a new Hatchimal Surprise that contained twins and when they saw the packaging they were squealing with excitement. The Hatchimal took about 10 minutes to hatch which thankfully is a short amount of time, any longer and I think would have been frustrated, luckily the lights and noises kept them from getting too impatient. The looks on their faces as the egg cracked and the head of twin B popped out of the top was priceless. They were in love. My oldest daughter is 9 and was just as fascinated as my 6 year old. The y were mesmerized! They played with the twins for almost 2 hours non stop and even then they only stopped because it was dinner time, They were able to mature the twins to toddlers and spent dinner time telling us all about them and how excited they were to get them to age up again. I'm excited because there is an off button and a volume control!! The instructions are easy to read and understand so they need very little help from me to understand how to play with the twins. I love that the twins can talk to each other and I'm sure that there will be many more hours of fun ahead of them as they age up the twins then reset back them to babies and do it all over again. It was wonderful to watch my girls play with toys away from the TV and tablets and most importantly no arguing!! We wish the sheet with instructions was a little bigger as the writing is tiny and for older parents we need a little larger font. This is a toy that I highly recommend to anyone with a child under 10. They are so cute and did I say they have a power button??? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Little One Loves Them My daughter loves these little guys. From the moment you take it out the box it is an experience. From discovering the lights on inside the eggs and hearing them make noises. It was quite fun and had her laughing and giggling. It did not take long for the egg to start to crack and for the first head to pop out. The discovery of twins was a sight to be seen. My daughter was over the moon to have two dolls in one egg. She is enjoying getting to understand what the different eye colors mean and how to get them to react. As for me: I loved the packaging didn't require major tools to get it opened. The instructions were clear and concise. I noticed but my little one didn't is Twin A was not in baby mode with it came out of the egg. I followed the directions on how to reset it but that didn't work. But thankfully my little one didn't overly mind. She referred to it as the big sister. I do like that they require different steps to calm them and they seem to have different personalities. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy Day, Hatching Hatchimals! The Hatchimals Surprise is a fun toy to experience. This is the ultimate toy for all those fans of blind bags and mystery boxes that seem to be everywhere these days, including my 7 year old daughter. While we knew from the box that we would be getting a set of Giraven twins, the mystery was the color of our twins. I wish that there were more options but for the Giraven, there are only two, 2 tye-dye pink animals or 1 blue/1 pink (we got blue and pink.) The hatching process was fun and my daughter enjoyed looking at the quick start guide to know how to handle her egg. The egg hatched after less than 10 minutes of interaction. We both wished that the hatching process had lasted quite a bit longer since it can only happen once. After hatching, the animals sang a cute song and began flashing their eyes, a cue that they needed attention. My daughter once again used the quick start guide to tend to the animals, tilting them sideways or pressing their heads depending on the color of the lights. Eventually the animals level up to toddlers and kids and their needs and abilities change with their age. While my daughter enjoys playing with her Hatchimals, she quickly became tired of tending to their needs. Thank goodness both animals have on/off switches on them so they can be played with in interactive mode (with lights and sounds) or in silent imaginary mode (which is how my daughter now mostly plays with them.) All in all, my daughter is enjoying this toy. She loves that she got 2 hatchimals in one egg and she loves hearing them sing and chatter. Her biggest complaints are that they only hatch once and that they need a lot of attention to level them up. We have not tried it, but there are instructions for resetting the hatchimals to baby mode if desired. Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Bestest toy EVER" per my daughter This toy by far has kept my daughter's attention for more then 10 minutes. It not only has cute light up eyes, but they sing, interact with each other and with you. From start to finish, the hatching process was pretty quick unlike the original Hatchimals which took longer so this made it easier to keep my 5 year old from getting to antsy. The most exciting part for my daughter was seeing who would actually pop out of the egg. The first twin is the older twin that will talk with your child. The next twin dances and plays games. If you put the two creatures together they will interact with each other which is pretty neat. Just like original Hatchimals , the child has to interact and play with the creatures in order for them to grow and evolve from baby to kid. So this helps to keep the attention of the child. I love the fact that she can play with these creatures for a long time and it forces the game to constantly change and evolve and motivate her to do various commands and tasks in order to achieve the next level. This toy is great for any age and small enough for small hands. It definitely is a hit for us! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy little girl! I was so excited to get the Hatchimals Peacat in the mail last week! My daughter wanted one so bad last Christmas and of course the stores were sold out. She was thrilled to watch the egg hatch and see what was inside. I had heard some bad reviews last year and I was worried that the egg wouldn't open or something would go wrong. We didn't have any issues so that was a relief. The egg hatched after several minutes and we found twins inside. The twin A and B go through stages of development according to how much you interact with them. They start out as babies and go to toddlers and so on. The blinking lights let you know what sort of attention they need. This can be a little confusing when tending to them. Eventually they will work together and sing. Although this process is pretty cool in the beginning, I don't think it will be one of those toys my daughter will continue to play with after a few days. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing to say the least. What an awesome toy for a little girl. From the hatch to taking care of it in its toddler years. This has been an enjoyment ever for the adults to watch. I will be purchasing these for children’s gifts. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome and fun My daughter is 7 and she has been waiting for a Hatchimal. I didn’t want to get the first ones because the reviews were not great. She was so beyond excited to finally get one. She was floored when two came out! She has been playing with them every day. I am excited that this one has longer play to it. They are really cute looking and fun!! She has not gotten bored yet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bella's Review age 7 Bella was really excited to see the egg hatch and find two hatchimals inside! She loves having two hatchimals, because they are twins and they are super cute! The only complaint she has is that they are constantly "chattering" and there is no "quiet" mode, just on or off option. She is super sensitive to noise, so it would be nice to be able to still play with them but turn their sound down. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big hit at my house! I have two granddaughters so this was perfect, two prizes in one! They are old enough to read so I had them help read the instructions and take turns helping the Hatchimals hatch. It took a few minutes, enough to build anticipation but not too long. I like that it made noise and lit up while getting ready to hatch, they were very into it. They both loved each one, the older one got the A twin and the younger got the B twin - each twin does different things, the A doing more so it worked out but it was a little odd that they don't have the same options. They start out at baby stage and the more you play with it, it moves through different stages and does more complicated things like singing etc. We were stuck home on a rainy day so they did work through the different stages pretty quickly. It sings Happy Birthday when it gets to the next stage so it's pretty obvious. Like any talking toy, it is squeaky so can get a bit much after awhile when there's two but that's what off buttons are for ;) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great toy for 6-7 yr old!! Our girls, age 6 and 7 could not wait to open the hatchimals. They went bonkers when the realized there were twins inside. One for each of them that each did different things!! Ideal for kids to learn empathy, stages of life and learn the growth from baby to kid. These twin toys sing a song when they move between stages- hatching to baby to toddler to kid and the girls loved it when the song was sung and the next stage was accomplished. It comes with a detailed card that explains what happens in each stage of development which was great the older girl who could read really enjoyed sharing what each color ( the eyes light up different shades) meant. The twins also interact and miss each other which is unique. When they get back together they are happy again! Each twin has a different skill set - just like kids which is also awesome. I would definitely recommend this toy, dependent on the price point but as far as the quality of the animals and the interactive skills of the toy- I give it an A+ [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stupendous Hatchimal Surprise I think my daughters could not have loved the new Hatchimal Surprise any more than they did. I don't want to run the surprises, but let's just say neither girl was disappointed. They BOTH were surprised and happy at the new and improved way of hatching and exciting new features. Peacat has moving Pegasus like wings, a peacock tail and a cat head, some of my daughters' favorite things. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hatchimal Twins are adorable and unique I wasn't sure what to expect when my 5 year old daughter opened her Hatchimal Twins Peacat pack, and was pleasantly surprised! I read the instructions as I watched her and my 1 year old son marvel at the noises coming out of the egg. Once it began to hatch (which was luckily a lot more quickly than I had expected, so they hadn't gotten bored of it yet) the kids were a bit taken aback from the "birth"...we had never seen a toy like this before! After the initial shock, they were in awe and already attacked to the "twins", it was incredible to watch. What a smart way to get a child interested in a toy! Hatchimals and the noises they make are adorable. It's a very unique toy experience. I will say that this wears off a bit after the first day. My daughter has just begun learning to read so when she plays with her Hatchimals, I need to tell her what their needs are (based on what color their eyes light up, whichbis on a chart that comes in the package) every few seconds. Patience is a virtue parents...and you will need it. They love parenting these toys, and will eagerly badger you every few seconds to tell them what the toy "needs." Most of what they need is to be tilted and to have nose or head buttons pushed. My daughter's tends to have green eyes quite often, which means it is "sick". She will often comfort her sick Hatchimals only to have them become sick again a few seconds later. By the 20th time in 5 minutes her Hatchimal was sick, she found the off switch and said that it needed "rest" to get over said illness. Ha! So yes, these are very cute and unique toys but can become rather frustrating for both parent and child if you spend too much time aiding your Hatchimals at once. Small doses, folks! Also, it's adorable that the twins can face each other to comfort each other with "twin talk" but I am gathering quickly that one Hatchimal is responsibility enough for small children. Trying to comfort both at once is a bit much. I would recommend for the unique experience but would also let parents know that this may be more fun for a young child who has begun reading. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super cute & fun to take care of! The Hatchimals Surprise Twins are very cute! My 5 year old daughter loved the whole hatching process. She also loves taking care of them and the little noises they make. As a parent it was a little confusing trying to keep track of which twin needed which type of care. In spite of this, I would still recommend them. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cute and fun for any age my daughter was so excited when she opened the box and found the Giraven Hatchimals surprise egg. She could not get the box open fast enough. It took a little bit then they started to hatch which was way too cute. First popped out a blue and then a pink one. I think it's great how they communicate with one another. She's been playing with them non stop trying to get to the last stage. So far we're on stage 3. My fav is the pink one it says "I love you" in the most adorable baby voice. This is going to be a hit on everyone's holiday list. I'm going to stock up for all my nieces ,this holiday season. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh my word. My daughter lost her mind. Originally, my impression was that you would be surprised by the color of the animal inside. But no, my daughter was already familiar with the concept of Hatchimals, and the surprise is that there are two animals inside and not just one! We didn't have any problems with the hatching process, and the toys are being played with on a daily basis since hatching! The interactivity of the toys really enhanced how much they are being played with. I was concerned that, because they're basically fancy stuffed animals, my daughter would lose interest. So far she is still interested but it has only been a few days. My older daughter now wants one, so I have a good gift idea for Christmas now! My kids are 5 and 9, so I think the toy appeals to a huge age range, which is an added bonus, because it will have some longevity in our house. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a fun toy!! My girls who are 9 & 7 really enjoyed the Hatchimal Peacats. In our excitement to receive this cool toy, we didn't realize that there were two Peacats in the egg even though the package clearly says "twins"!! That was quite a fun surprise and a relief that each daughter could have their own! The egg came in a very secure package but it was still easy to open. The instructions were very detailed but easy to follow on how to hatch the egg. We enjoyed rubbing, shaking and following the instructions to make the egg crack. It was really exciting when it did crack. It was very interesting to watch this toy work. We were very surprised when the first one came out and we saw another one still inside!! My girls each got their own baby. It was also great that the fun didn't stop there. The girls had to follow lighted cues by each Peacat to raise them from infants to toddlers to preschoolers to kids. It's also very neat that each Peacat responded to their twin Peacat. The Peacats themselves are adorable. They're a medium sized animal that is half cat half peacock with little flapping wings and flashing eyes. We can't say enough good things about these toys. It's pretty great that you can make two children happy for the price of one! My only critique is that once the Peacats come out, each twin has their own set of instructions on how to care for their baby. However, the instructions were only printed on one paper to share. Sharing is still hard in this age group and they were trying to follow the quick paced ques but were fighting over seeing the instruction page. It might be better to print a separate page for twin A & twin B so each child can have their own. I would most definitely buy this product again and wholeheartedly recommend it to other parents. My girls are already asking for the Giraven. These will be great little collectibles! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great new toy! From the moment we activated the giant egg the kids were so excited! Right away the egg started glowing, chirping and vibrating. Within about 10 minutes the first crack happened and within 20 total minutes they were all taking turns holding the twin Hatchimals. They have a series of events that have to be tended to, in order, and then the twins "age" up. They are still carrying the twins around and appear to enjoy their company. The kids can record phrases and the twins repeat them back in the Hatchimal voice. I would buy these for gifts of any age child, about 4 and up, as long as someone who can read the steps to them is present. The instructions are specific and there are quite a few steps. Overall a great toy though! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A wonderful surprise I wanted to try hatchinals surprise for my 6 year old daughter. She is t really attached to dolls, or many stuffed animals. I thought if she went through the process, of something hatching, then going through different stages, itnsy grow on her. When we took the egg out of the package ( which was ray to open, unlike a lot of kids toys, we quickly read the directions on how to get the egg to hatch. I'm glad they had the directions, and a small "cheat sheet" through all the stages. We held the egg, and rubbed it. She was thrilled to hear the noises that came out of the egg. You also see different lights that appear in the egg. The lights are you keys to what you have to do for the egg. My daughter held the egg, rubbed the egg, and patted the bottom of the egg. About three hours later there was a rack at the top of the egg, and you can see hair. She was very excited. You have to help the animals out of the egg. The two little hatchlings are adorable. They are very cuddly. They sing A song when they move to the next stage. They also talk to you. They say hello and I love you. My daughter has carried them everywhere she has gone these past two days. The hatchimals come with bTteries included( but it might be a good idea to have an extra set near by). The twins interact with each other, as well. I would highly recommend this product. It is fun to take care of them, and exciting when they hatch. I am extremely impressed. My daughter interacts with them, and shows them love [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Interesting New Toy I think this is a pretty interesting new toy. So my daughter received this new Hatchimals Surprise Peacat as a gift. She has heard of Hatchimals but did not have one personally so she was very eager and excited to unwrap it. Right away she was very curious as to what would happen. When you touch the egg if feels different. The top area where the critter breaks thru is soft and feels like a clay almost. The egg is fragile and you have to be careful not to crack it open. Now for my 6 year old I was a tad concerned she may not last without breaking it open but she did. I was shocked at how fast it started to crack open. She cared for the egg giving it love and rocking it like a baby for about 10 minutes when we noticed that the egg was changing colors. She put it on the table so it could hatch and we all watched in amazement. One of my girls even said this was weird and interesting to watch. I think it is a pretty inventive idea to have a toy that not only will interact with you but one that will come out of an egg. Once the egg was finished we did break off the remainder shell parts to help get the toy out. It seems to grow thru each stage (egg, baby, toddler, child) pretty fast. Since this one is a twin its cool to watch the two interact. They sing and dance. This is a pretty cool toy and is very age appropriate for my 6 year old daughter. I totally recommend anyone with a child around this age to try this out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Experience a Whole New Hatch My son was so excited to receive his new egg to create new friends, a new hatch and a new fun with Hatchimals Surprise. We had a blast together holding, rubbing and tapping the shell of his egg and hearing the delightful sound and seeing glowing eyes! Once we saw the eyes flash rainbow colors, it was hatching time! He thought it was the coolest thing that his eggs contained twins. The adorable twins had their own unique personalities and one even had a moving head and wings. It was a blast watching them play together and interact. When you put them face to face they will recognize each other. If you separate them for too long and one twin will call out for the other. As they reach toddler hood, one twin will record and repeat things that you say. My son has had hours of fun playing with his new Hatchimals Surprise - PEACAT. Such a fun and interactive toy. Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a surprise!! I received the Hatchimals Peacat product last night. My girls were so excited that they ran off with the box! They eventually came back for help opening it. I had no idea what I'd find in the box (I thought one hatchimal) and so I warned my twin 7 year old girls that they would have to share that they were going to babysit it for me. We opened the box and pulled out the egg and the girls took turns caring for it and reporting back all the sounds, eye color changes, and movement updates. They were so excited to see which Hatchimal was inside. We had gotten two at Christmas so they knew what to expect. This was just as exciting to them as the first time. The wait was not long before the egg began to hatch. Imagine their (and my) surprise to find that there were a set of twin peacats inside!!! Their faces were awesome and they were so excited to each have one. The hatching was easy and there were no problems getting them out of the egg. The hatchimals laugh a lot which makes the girls happy. They also interact and like to see each other. They are a little smaller than the regular Hatchimals and so they are easy to carry and a little lighter. There is no more hard beak as they hatch using their heads. The girls played with them right up until bed and took them in the car on the way to school this morning. They are super cute and I love that they stay in there mood a little longer so you are not constantly having to read to figure out how to make them happy. That way you can enjoy them more before they change moods. They are sleeping now but the girls will be home from school soon and I'm sure they will have them back in action. Not only are the girls enjoying this toy but my twins having twin Hatchimals is a lot of fun! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My kids had a blast! Previously I really didn't understand the hype about this toy. I thought "What's the fun in a stuffed animal hatching from an egg?". Boy was I wrong! The toy egg itself is huge and pretty. Much bigger and heavier than I expected. Together my daughters whom are 7 & 8 years old and myself read the instructions. We carefully opened it and did as it instructed. Immediately the babies inside started cooing and making noises and lighting up and my daughters were so excited! The babies eyes light through the egg and their eye color alerts you to their needs or wants. So we followed the cheat sheet included and tried to keep the egg babies happy. And to my surprise it was very fun and exciting especially for my girls. When the time came, the Egg actually hatched! I couldn't believe it. I still cant figure out how the toy makers did this. Again we followed the instructions. Our TWIN babies hatched and sang Hatchy Birthday! It was the cutest thing. My daughters each claimed their baby and then we realized how interactive the babies were. They acted like babies, then toddlers, then kids probably within an hour of playing with them. Their sounds change through the stages so its easy to recognize. My girls were fully entertained the entire time. Never once did they get bored or forget about the babies the whole evening. They even slept with their baby and this morning I had to insist they turn them off so we could get ready for school. As a mother and adult I loved how interactive the babies were. The cheat sheet explains how they like to be nose to nose so they are not lonely. They tell each other jokes, and bicker!. That's so cute. They made it so the babies have a relationship and I just think its the cutest thing ever. I would totally recommend this toy! 100% happy and so are my daughters. The twin idea is great and perfect if you have two children. Since the babies interact it keeps my kids playing together so that is also a plus. Only advice I have for the toy maker....include birth certificates the kids could fill out. GREAT TOY! I highly recommend it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Family was excited to try Hatchimals My 6 year old daughter has been wanting a Hatchimal since they first came out. We tried to get her one for Christmas, but they were sold out by the time we realized that she wanted one. To say that she was excited to receive the Hatchimal Surprise would be an understatement. She could barely control her excitement long enough for her dad and I to get the toy out of the box. Since we have never had a Hatchimal before we did not know exactly what to expect. We watched a youtube video that helped us learn how we could hatch her animal. It was quite exciting waiting for the Hatchimal to break open the egg. It was even more exciting for her to realize that she had twin Hatchimals in the egg. She is having fun caring for her Hatchimals and waiting for them to move into the next "growth" stage. She already has decided that she wants to get another Hatchimal. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My children were thrilled when they got home from school. The only problem was I only got one and have 2 girls fighting to enjoy it. I hope this comes out to the stores in time for Christmas. I am sure it will, but the only problem will be getting my hands on them like last years Hatchimals. The girls loved watching the Hatchimal hatch and finding two inside. It eased the fighting a little bit. The girls have really enjoyed playing with the Hatchimals and they and I would most definitely recommend them to anyone looking for some unique fun. Rated 4 out of 5 by from We LOVE Hatchimals! Having two daughters I was THRILLED to find there were not one, but TWO twin Hatchimals in our box! (No fighting over just one!) The hatching process seemed to go faster than our previous hatchings, which was nice because kids are impatient! Our Hatchimals were exactly the same, so again, that was nice that the girls had the same toys. Except...one seemed to "grow up" and be more active, while the other one didn't seem to do a whole lot so one girl was disappointed and thought her Hatchimal was broken. =( The excitement after the hatching died down quickly, and we were all frustrated trying to understand how the two toys interacted with each other. We tried to follow the instructions, but it seems one toy actually does do more than that other? The kids got tired of playing with them after about 15 minutes and put them away. Then, much to my surprise the next day they got them out again and played together. All of a sudden the second toy started playing "Happy Birthday" and became a little more interactive so the kids were excited again! All in all, we still love all our Hatchimals, and it was excited to get twins. I think it would be better if the toys were somehow set to advance to the next stage at roughly the same time...one twin advanced twice within maybe 10 minutes, and the other so far seems to only have advanced once in 24 hours. It was pretty cute to have twins in one big egg, but I think it might be more fun to have two different smaller eggs in one box. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wasn't sure of the hype BUT I really was not sure what all the hype was I have a 10 & 5-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old granddaughter, Hatchimals were all the rage last Christmas and were surprised they were still super popular my girls gravitate to them when we go to the store. However we hatched the "pecat twins" and My we are in love, they are so adorable, the girls love them and the fact that they are twins and interact with each other is so cute! So far they have not lost intrest and love that it encourages them to play more with it because the more you play the more they learn. They dance, play games I love that they truly keep growing, and will forget if you don't keep playing. I help get the kids off the screens and get them interacting moving, and they are twins so playing together! I will admit I have "babysitting duty" when my girls are at school and yes I have played with them a bit myself, We love them so much there may be a second set of twins in our future ;) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One happy little girl!! Omg, I had one excited little girl!! She was super excited when she opened tje box and saw what it was. We recieved the peacat hatchimal. She loved enticing the egg to open up. She even went to bed with it last night. This afternoon when she got home from school she immediately went to go get the egg. A few minutes after picking it up it decided to hatch. The look on her face was priceless! She has been carrying around the twins all evening. Now from a mom perspective she is a little young to understand all the things they do and is constantly asking me what she is suppose to do with the different colors. She still enjoys just playing with then tho. They are not as noisy as I thought they would be which is a good thing. We will see how long the batteries last which they come with. I would recommend keeping tract of the instruction sheet because you will regerence it frequently. I would definitely recommend this product. It has kept my 6 year old entertained for two days now!! Rated 4 out of 5 by from We hatched our Hatchimal!! It is definitely better than I imagined. My daughter is 6 and was uber excited to do this and make it hatch. It took a while to make it hatch and was a little confusing have to read what the different colors meant but once we got the hang of it - it hatched. Then once it was hatched - we are still at the baby stage since we can't figure out how to get them to "graduate" to the toddler stage with the interactions but I am sure its a matter of working with it. We will get it figured out for sure tonight. Overall my daughter said she absolutely loves the toy and wants to use the egg as storage for other toys! Rated 5 out of 5 by from My kids are so happy! Great product! The second that I pulled the package out of the box my children began squealing with joy and excitement. They immediately began taking care of the egg and waiting very impatiently for it to hatch their new babies. Once it did begin to hatch, I could not pull them away from the table for anything. They have not stopped interacting with the twin Giravens and I have to say that I am actually playing with them as well. They are super cute and a well thought out toy. The way the toys interact with the kids is amazing. My kids have named them Chloe and Cole. They wanted to name them Fargus and puppy but we helped them pick names. Greatest toy ever! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exciting Toy The Hatchimals Surprise is quite exciting! We opened this box and immediately starting cuddling the egg. After reading the directions, which are so straight forward and very helpful, we new when to expect the egg to hatch (when the light starts flashing different colors). It actually didn't take long. We expected to wait days. Maybe all of the cuddling helped. The egg began to hatch in less than 10 minutes. It was so cute to watch one twin emerge from the egg. The twin peacats are absolutely adorable and my 6-year-old is in awe. They are still in the baby stage, so they mostly make baby noises and light up, which is cute. But we are looking forward to the toddler stage when the singing and dancing begins! This is our first experience with Hatchimals products. We do not have any of the others. Even my 11-year-old son is enjoying this toy! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My girls loooove it!! Amazing!! My 7 and 4 year old daughters think this deserves 20 stars, not just 5!! They were so excited to get the surprise Hatchimal and were even more exited when they guessed from the box that there were twins inside... one for each of them! The hatching process was quick and the girls were so happy as they watched the Hatchimals poke out of their shells. Clean up was easy too - it didn't break into many small pieces. Now my 7 year old uses the "cheat sheet" with her sister to figure out what their Hatchimala want based on their eye color. It's really fun that they each have their own and that they can play with them together. It's a great bonding toy and they think it's so fun! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great toy!! My 6 year old daughter was beyond excited when she got this Hatchimal egg. When it started to 'hatch' I thought she'd have a heart attack...she lost control with excitement! I didn't tell her there were two so when she got 'twins' she was ecstatic. She is completely preoccupied with all the lights and sounds they make and the things they do (like dance, etc). She told me specifically that having the twins was way better than getting just one b/c they interact with each other and are more fun. I don't know how I'm going to convince her that these can't go to school...lol. A perfect gift for a little girl!! One quick tip, when it hatches, the little pieces of egg can get everywhere so avoid having it hatch on a rug, hard wood or tile is much better for this. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super cute little creatures My first impression was like is this gonna be like the last ones which too forever to hatch? And to my surprise they actually hatched super quick maybe 10 min the most (which is huge when you have a six year old waiting lol) I didn’t tell her that there would be twins in there I wanted her to be surprised and her reaction was OMG Mama there is 2 in there like twins. She was super excited and has been playing with them nonstop already! I also like that they interact with each other so it a little more fun to play with them for her, the first one she got was pretty much pushed aside after a day. Rated 5 out of 5 by from This will be a HOT toy My daughter went nuts when she saw there were TWO hatchimals inside this egg! It took less time to hatch than her original hatichimal which meant playing sooner! The approximately 6 inch tall twins are completely different . One moved its head side to side, one moves up and down. The eyes have different meaning depending on which twin it is. The wings move, the head moves. They actually seem to have distinct personalities! In the words of my 7 year old. These are the cutest things that I have ever seen! She actually needed to eat dinner with them [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hatchimal yet My daughter has one of the original hatchimals but she is way more excited and into these twins than she ever was with the first. We just got them today and she has been playing with them non stop (which is great for a 5 year old who gets bored easily) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect toy for my daughter My daughter loved the regular Hatchimals last year and when we received this Bzzcampaign, she was super excited. And the Hatchimals Surprise didn't disappoint. These new Hatchimals are in my opinion even cuter than the previous ones and the fact that you receive two Hatchimal twins that can interact with each other is great. My daughter loves stuffed animals and especially cats so the fact that she got the peacat twins was perfect. Already when you get the box, the new Hatchimals look super cute on the box with their big eyes and round head. My daughter couldn't wait to find out who she would hatch and she got the really cute Peacat twins. While the original Hatchimals lost some of their appeal once they had hatched, these twins are still fun a day after they hatched, since they interact with each other and now my daughter just uses them to pretend play with each other. I really hope these won't be as sold out as the original Hatchimals again, because now my daughter wants another one for Christmas because she wants to try to get the giraffe twins.
