Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 5 year old loves this set My son loves this set. He can build by himself and he loves the wide variety of options in the toolkit. I was torn between this and the we-do and this had more motors and seemed geared to a one-child experience, so I went with this and I'm so glad I did. We are used to digging to find the piece we want in our big bucket of Lego, so I can't relate to the people complaining about looking for a particular piece. That is the obvious price of having so much content in one box. And it's one I happily pay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from How to sort the bricks will make it easier to find I believe most people had or will have same problem we had. We have to go through all the bags to find each brick. You wont have any clue that which bag it will be. It wastes lots time. So I sort them by colours. And each colour will separate to big bricks and small bricks. (as the pics attached). Now it comes way easier to find a brick. Hope it will help you as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great to built poor play value This was bought for my 8yr old son. Building was fun but fun has turned to massive disappointment as it does not function as it should. It switches off and now has a habit of making an echo sound when it speaks. I have replaced numerous batteries but it makes no difference. Cannot return product as the box has been destroyed. Do not buy this product as it will break hearts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This set is really great value for money.I bought it for my girl 9-year-ago birthday gift. she enjoyed building , changing it to 5 models and doing some simple programming projects with Boost app. She always keeps interest and freshness to play it . Great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Once again you've done it Lego! Only problem is I'm gonna have to buy 5 of these now, as my little builder has aspergers and gets pretty attached to his builds. Thank you Lego; for always innovating. You give my son balance in his sometimes chaotic life!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the app requires access to the microphone to work so lego wants to listen in on my kids? no way! the game goes back to the store and i do not recommend this game to anyone with kids. also the app only works on the latest hardware, so lego expects that I give my new iPad to my kids? i don't think so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Boost! This product is awesome. We ordered it for our two children aged 7 and 9. My 7 year old son spent two hours to build the first design and did it completely on his own. We have an ipad and the instructions on it were great, and easy for him to understand. He only needed help when he couldn't locate a piece fast enough! It is challenging and both children love it. They are now working on a second design. I hope that Lego expands the Boost. It's worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant set for any Lego fan Bought this set for my 9 year old daughter for xmas, to say she is pleased with it would be a massive understatement. She hasn't put it down since xmas day and has already built the main models and coded them and has now moved on to the creative canvas on the app, she has also managed to work out how to use the Lego boost motors and app and built a Ferris wheel for her Lego figures using pieces from other sets. Some parts of the builds could be quite difficult for a novice builder but as my daughter has been building Lego friends sets since she was 4 years old she had no problem. Overall I'm very impressed with the Lego boost set my daughter loves it and enjoys building Lego whilst also improving her ICT skills by coding on the app. Well done Lego on another great fun but also educational set

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Genius My 8 year old son loves this! It is fantastic, he had built vernie and mtr4 so far and the play ability is outstanding! My son is delighted to build a model then code it too, simple drag and drop coding on an iPhone, couldn’t put it on our iPad as not on iOS 10, would have been a big problem had we not had the iPhone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set! I just don't get the negative reviews. I bought this set for my 7 year old daughter. She absolutely loves it, and I did too. Personally, I don't get the negative reviews for this set. This isn't the most sophisticated robotics kit, but it's very cool and easy to learn for a younger child. Excellent introduction to basic coding and mechanical design. I would say that, like a lot of sets, the age range might be listed a little high. My four year old son loves it too and can easily code and run programs on their tablet (Kindle Fire 7). Highly recommended for fun parent/child activity.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from would be cool if it would run long enough When it works it is neat but it consumes batteries at an absurd rate. We are only getting 10-15 minutes of play out of it before we have to stop and replace batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still enjoying it 6 months later We have enjoyed this kit many times over. It is a better value now that the app can be run on a Iphone (most recent update).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Boost creativity I have three sons: 3-, nearly 7- and 8-years of age. All 3 agreed on building the cat first. My 3-year old sorted the pieces and the other two alternated building. After a couple of hours all three had lost interest in building and I ended up finishing on my own; although they would come back for the coding interludes. I love Lego so I can’t complain that I had to build a fair chunk of the cat, but I had bought Boost with the intention of letting them change the set ups regularly. The robot will clearly remain a cat for a couple of weeks... Yes, I know Boost is not meant for my 3-year old, but the other two have huge sets they play with regularly. Building a robot is different, I think they wanted to code the robot to do everything earlier in the build, not incrementally. Might have been x-mas fever though...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the value! I bought this for my 5-year-old son for Christmas and he has not stopped playing with it since. I wondered at first if the price was worth it but after owning it for a few days now it's clear that it is. He is finding it so entertaining and is learning so much. There really is so much you can do with this set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inspire more Creativity I think that this toy is amazing! It allows children to not only enjoy play, but also technology at the same time. It is a fun education toy that I highly recommend to any parent who is looking for something educational for their child!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely fantastic We bought our 7 year old son this set for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. Rated 4 out of 5 by from No printed instructions My daughter loves the set--but we are disappointed it doesn't come with any printed instructions--she finds it a pain to try and follow on the tablet. I know we can print them ourselves---But the price I paid I should at least get 1 set of instructions with it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I purchased this set for my 6 year old son and I to play with together. We have had a lot of fun building, and learning how to make the sets accomplish different goals. My son has been thoroughly entertained with this set, and even as a grown up, it has been a lot of fun for me too. I do notice that this set has received many poor reviews due to device compatibility. I do recognize that this may be a problem, but I am shocked that people do not research this prior to purchasing. This is the first thing that I looked into when I found out about this set. The potential improvements that I think would make this set even better are: - last program memory...with this feature (and perhaps a button to start/stop the program), you could continue to play with the set with the tablet disconnected as well. - onboard speaker...it is unfortunate that there is no speaker on the bricks to output the sound. It has been a great set, and I think that my son and I will continue to learn how to accomplish more things with this set!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best lego gift yet! We bought the set for our son's 6th bday and were wondering if he would be able to build it alone. I'd say he needed our help with the robot/ipad maybe 5% of the time. The set is very expensive, but as my son is more a builder and explorer than a child who actually PLAYS with lego (role play etc), this set is perfect for him; he spent already hours building and coding the robot. For his bdayhe also received several lego sets from his friends. They are all built, but just laying around after an hour of building. If you compare prices then i'd say they playtime-per-dollar is higher on the boost set than on the usual sets. Today, 12 days after receiving the gift/starting the ronot-build, he suggested we take the robot apart and built the next one. The cat. Taking the robot apart was a bit of work and I helped with that. Now he's quietly building the next challenge. Bliss! What I find a bit annoying about the set is this: 1. All the parts our now out of the numbered bags and thus it is harder to find pieces. DIY Solution: We have color sorted the pieces and placed them in large resealable bags so they can lay flat and show all the pieces of the color while the pieces are not laying around on the floor (we have a baby, too). 2. We will need to buy a resealable box to put the parts and the card board playmat, that comes with the set, in. This is not like usuallego and there are many very specific pieces. If these 800 pieces would be mixed with his normal lego (about 10 -15 sets + some classic brick boxes) he'd never be able to find the pieces back to build any of the Boost figures. Too bad the set box doesn't allow to be used long term - it being card board and non-resealable it doesn't lend itself well for storing. it seems one piece is missing (see-through 2 dot red brick) as it was not used for the robot, but it is also not in the left over bags. Will need to ask if it can be send still. 3. it needs 6 AAA batteries and as he, of course, codes and recodes the set and tries it all out, batteries die really fast.I am a bit surprised it didn't come with a rechargable battery (with the option to buy a spare one if you'd want). I hope this is something that will be available for purchse soon in a way that people who already own a set can use that option too. This especially in light of the fact that the set IS in fact expensive and I cannot simply buy an upgraded version. I hope extension boxes or App updates will come available. Ideally extension boxes that "grow" with the kids, so in two years from now he still will be challenged with building and coding these robots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would like more challenges We loved the experience, but now my son doesn't want to build another model because he is attached to Vernie and at the same time we would like more structured challenges to it. He did all the challenges in the app easily, and I would like more difficult exercises to him, but all around the web couldn't find any. I know you guys would like kids to be creative, but I suggest posting some new exercises too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product for K-5! I picked up this set over the summer for my 8 year old son, but by the time LEGO pushed the app to the Kindle, my 5 year old was more interested. So I let him follow the instruction and helped him out where he got stuck. Amazingly, he nearly built the entire cat! Although as an adult user, I would like more explicit instruction, my sons had no problem following the app build, play, and unlock progression. Each time they completed a new version of the cat, they had a lot of fun playing with programmed expression from the cat. Overall, there is wonderful replay value from the set. The kids are learning programming and working with sensors. The builds are challenging, but not too much so, and there is a lot of fun playing after the builds are complete.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from None of our devices are compatible My Mom and my sisters purchased this robot for my son’s birthday. We have six apple devices in our home. None of them were compatible. Your website has the fact that iOS 10 is required, but your authorized sellers do not. We will be returning the robot and purchasing something else. Too many comparable products on the market. I will not be spending another $400-$500 to accommodate your product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Set The entire family are huge Lego fans. We did a Mindstorms class at LegoLand FL last year and was looking forward for something like this to arrive for my son. He is 8 years old and is a massive Lego fanatic. He built and coded Vernie the robot almost completely by himself. I rarely review Lego sets but the Lego Boost set warrants it. It is absolutely fantastic. We have an Ipad at home so we didn't have any issues with the app. Every aspect of this set has worked flawlessly for us. It isn't a cheap set but, in my opinion, it is well worth the money. It teaches kids basic coding and I think that's important for the future. I am really impressed. I hope that there will be more Lego Boost sets in the future. My son has not stopped raving about it and can't wait to continue coding Vernie and eventually move on to one of the other 4 builds that can be built with this set. 5 stars the whole way!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing I was really excited about getting this for my son to give to his grandfather to celebrate his birthday. After multiple attempts to download the software required to run the programs - and even for building instructions - I gave up and returned it. I should not have to purchase new Ipads or laptops to be able to enjoy a new LEGO set. Nice concept, but if LEGO wants to succeed with it, it needs to interface with more operating systems. Maybe software could be provided on a jump drive or installation CD. PS - you need to add options for purchases for parents and grandparents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant and Engaging This has proven an incredible educational play tool for our 8yr old Autistic son. The build is a little more time consuming as you really have to sort the pieces first, and the build is challenging. To be fair it's normally the build that defines the Lego fun experience - but this is not the case in relation to Lego Boost - the build is JUST THE START OF THE FUN & LEARNING! The product quite literally comes to life when the programming and interaction starts using the app. It's engaging, has instant reward/gratification, encourages further learning and development, and unlocks the concept and principles of programming. The biggest challenge we have found is that we couldn't bare the thought of tearing down the cat to make a alternative creation - So we ended up having to buy further sets! Which we didn't mind as it proves exceptional value given all the additional play features, interactive apps and educational / learning benefits. It is by far the best lego set we have purchased (And we have purchased A LOT - as our Autistic son's special interest is Lego - which is all about following the sequence of build instructions - so we have sacrificed a lot to purchase so many sets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great time building with my son I bought this for myself for my birthday because I wanted to have some father/son time that no one else in the house would be interested in... selfish, but it worked. And the boost set is so much fun. We have only built the robot, but are excited to rebuild and check out the coding of the other builds too. Thank you Lego for making something that is perfect for this age group. One additional servo would have been awesome, but doesn't detract from the 5 brick rating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So fun, but I would love to have an extra motor.. My 7 year old son loves this, though it was challenging to build the robot--challenging enough that I don't want to take him apart in order to use his motor for the other builds. Is there a way to buy extra motors?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money Why would you release a product without software to support any but the newest tablets? We got this for our sons birthday in August and haven't been able to download the app on any of our Kindle devices. Very frustrating for us and disappointing for him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic This box is fantastic! The app works perfectly on our Huawei MediaPad. The best thing is: you don't need to build the complete robot before you start playing: the developers built in some really great games in between to get to know the robot step by step. That enhances the fun of building the robot even more! I recommend this product for every child! Perfect and worth every cent!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Neat idea but.... When the email for the Lego Boost showed up in my email, I was so excited. The twins had enjoyed playing with these programmable balls at the library and they LOVE Lego I thought this would be a hit. So I purchased this for their 9th birthday and they loved it, for two days! The day they got it and the next day while they put it together. Since then it sits there collecting dust. Lego: Will the program change to allow for faster moving? Will you ever sell the hub separately so kids can build more than one at once? Why does it go through batteries so fast?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Packaging Misleading My son received this for his birthday from his uncle, who was excited to teach him about coding. While the outside of the box states a "tablet is required," we REALLY wish it would have been specific...an iOS 10.3 or above. We had/still have a very disappointed 9-year old because his iPad is only an iOS 9. You added the requirements written in red on this website now but that does not remedy those purchasing this kit in the stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best playability of all the Lego sets BUT pay attention to the technical requirements We preordered this in June for her birthday so our 9 year old was very disappointed when it arrived after a LONG wait to discover that she couldn't do anything until we got a new iPad. I had checked the technical requirements but didn't realize none of the many iPads in our family wouldn't upgrade to iOS 10 to run the free app. Now that we have a new iPad it is running great. The building levels and different robots make for many many many hours of fun and then add infinite range of coding. Super cute and I expect we will enjoy this for many years. I would also buy AAA rechargeable batteries because the robots use 6 batteries very quickly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from App confusion Bought this for my 8 y/o son who loves it and plays with it constantly. First foray into coding and this level of Lego so I'm very impressed with it and value for money. I am however confused with the app and don't find it too user friendly (not being technical myself). Am looking for instructions how to navigate through it - the robot has been built no problem following the building instructions, but confused on the coding / why the need to apply numbers to the pieces...how and if my son can play around with the order of them... Are there instructions anywhere? Also the treasure box at the beginning, not sure what that entails either... Basically I need more instruction!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Can't Connect So far, I find this system to be a dud. I have a new Samsung Galaxy S3 and I cannot get past the update firmware. I have already uninstalled the app 3 times trying to get this done. My tablet meets all the minimum requirements. Also, I think it's great you have the building instructions on the tablet, but a paper copy would have been nice since you can't get to the instructions until you connect the hub. I bought this for my 9 year old niece and so far she is

We went to the shop with we man as always so he new we were gona build straight away or not 7 android devices running required spec not compatible and no build instructions uhm youtube to the rescue for builds and a little while later i got the app on a tab running less spec than needed? I love this idea but no instructions and again i dont like the search through bags (open bags and kids =lost parts before ive built so one bag at a time teaches young kids order and gives me peace). It does teach kids in ways but theres sum stuff i cant work out what they do maybee holding the icons could reveal illustrations or something to help in updates. Can i get vernies parts in grey and the canon in red on brick buy? You know where im going with this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scratch like programming for bricks - Yay!! My 6 year old son (and I) have been very excited about this since we heard about it earlier in the year, and ordered it for delivery on release day. Having grown up loving lego, and renewing my love for it through my son, this set is everything we could have wished for. The box is large, containing 11 numbered bags of lego along with a further un-numbered bag of larger parts and the 'Move Hub' boxed separately. It also contains a large laminated cardboard mat with some initial instructions and warranty information which doubles up as a poster (which quickly made it onto the sons bedroom wall). There are no construction instructions in the box (as per regular lego sets), and you are simply instructed to search for the app on the app store to get started. A tablet is an absolute requirement, nothing can be achieved without one. In terms of tablet compatibility, the Lego website has a list, but a relatively new Apple or quality Android tablet should be fine. We are using it on a old iPad 4, and it works fine. It may be possible to see if the App works before committing, search for 'Lego Boost' on the App store to see if it is available and works on your device. The set contains 5 main models as well as an introductory model (which shows the functions of hub and accessories) and each of the main models requires several hours of construction. The construction instructions are within the App, and the child is guided through building each of the models with clear instructions. Once a model is built, there are a series of guided challenges which introduce the programming aspect of the toys. My son has just started exploring 'Scratch' at school, and this is very similar, with drag and drop commands to build programmes, with all the usual functions (loops, events etc) introduced incrementally. I can't recommend this toy enough, whilst it is expensive, and requires a relatively modern tablet, there are many hours of playability with the education aspect neatly encapsulated in fun. If your child is interested in lego or programming, this really brings the two together neatly and it has to be the best Lego set I have seen in years. My only criticism is battery life in the hub; I'm not sure whether this is due to poor quality batteries or the hub itself (i am now on my 3rd set of branded Alkaline batteries in as many days)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed My son has been saving his birthday money for a while now to find that perfect toy. We went to a friend's house and he played with their Lego Boost and immediately wanted it! We were so excited because we love Lego and loved the fact that it was going to teach coding as well. We ordered it as a surprise to him, took him out to eat, then revealed our big surprise. We came home and got ready to build only to find out that our iPad Air is not compatible with this! Neither are either of our iPhone 7plus phones. The same day we purchased Lego Boost we also purchased the Dash robot for our younger two sons because they also had been saving their birthday money. They were able to start playing right away with our iPad and our iPhones while our oldest had to watch them (They let him join in on their fun because they felt bad for him). Please tell me this will change. If not, we will have to return this because we cannot spend $500 or more on a new iPad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from From the start a huge disappointment Purchased for my Grandkids and I, the first frustration is there was NO toolbox, my younger grandkids get FAR cheaper sets in purpose designed "Toolboxes" with compartments for each of the different component types. At present I would not recommend, nor buy the 2 extra sets I had planned. The App was quite innovative, though resetting choice is apparently restricted to everything rather than a particular toy, which means ALWAYS going back to the very start rather than allowing 2 or more children to journey at their own pace through the different models. Reset should be available for each model. The ability to produce their own designs is weirdly restricted to a set of cartoon graphic to represent it, rather than allowing the child to use a photo of their creation? The app information is limited to graphics, and does not include child friendly technical descriptions that would encourage reading and learning new terms : rotate, angle etc... Not all the coding icons are that self explanatory, I often wanted to know more... I looked in vain for a child friendly manual or icon descriptions, they were neither in the app or the box. Some great play opportunities, but with far too many deficiencies. In short no, toolbox, and Lego saving on translation by staying graphica only, results in less learning opportunities for the child.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The kids love it I will make this one short, but I brought this set out this week and the kids (ages 5 & 6.75) love it. They are very into Lego, with many large sets / theme collections, and they have played with this one more in the past few days than any of the others. The app that you download is set up with interactive instructions that walk you thought the build(s) with unlocking activities that introduce you to the various commands available in the application. The programming techniques are primarily accessed though simple drag and drop commands that can be sequenced, and/or run in parallel. There are several execute types, with looping commands, movements, audio prompts, voice recording, pre-recorded audio clips, optical prompts, and movement sensors. Almost all commands have user variables that can be easily set through numeric entry or graphic selection. But still the overall programming structure remains simple. In addition, the user has ability to develop scripts and save them to different tool boxes. Really impressed with the app, and the multiple configurations available through the integration of the Lego System platform. Again my children love it, and it has kept them entertained and engrossed more (so far) than any other Lego set they have. (It mixes best of both worlds for them, tablet and Lego).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good entertainment, not great education The big failing with the EV3 robotics system is that after building a model it just gives you the program to run it. It does not really teach you how to code the program to run the model, or what different coading options are available or appropriate. Lego Boost does not have this failing. There is a large number of coading exercises and options that are given at various points throughout the build of each of the 5 models provided. However, it does have some significant disadvantages compared with EV3. Despite what it says on the box, it is not going to help your child to learn to code. There are no variables, conditional looping, and only very limited switching in the scratch-like code. As a result, programming is limited to executing strings of commands. There are some built in functions that allow the robot to react to its environment, but these cannot be coaded using the standard instructions. Your child will learn how to put together stings of instructions, but will not learn any real coading. The builds are rather complex. As they mostly use the standard lego stud bricks, rather than the lego technic bricks there are a lot of complex, specialized pieces in the set. The build instructions are very systematic and clear, so there should not be problems with the standard builds, but the complexity of the peices will make it difficult for your child to build their own designs. One other shortcoming is that the software is quite buggy. At many points, I had to shut down the software, and restart it, and restart the robot to get the example programs to work. Lego’s software QA has never been great, but I hope that things will improve as there are newer releases of the software. Also, be aware that the software will only run on specific iOS and android tablets. There is no PC based software, which is very frustrating. I have to steal my wife’s iPad to run the software. Make sure that you have the right hardware before you purchase. The educational We-Do set suffers from similar building and coading issues. If your child has been using a we-do set in class, this Boost set compliments We-Do well, so is a good option if they want to continue their learning at home. The set is well thought out and very entertaining, but it will not teach them anything significant about coading or robotics. For this you will have to step up to an EV3 set. The Boost Crative Toolbox set is a very entertaining set, but is not great for education.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing. This is the only LEGO product I have had cause to give a poor rating. When I pre-ordered there was no list of compatible devices and now I find that if I want to use the set I need to buy an expensive tablet that I don't need for any other reason than to run the LEGO Boost App. It's a building block set with remote control features. Surely LEGO programmers could have done a better job than program for a VERY LIMITED number of tablets, including expanding into Kindle apps. I'm sure LEGO will get a lot of complaints and requests for refunds. I certainly find myself as one of the disappointed owners of a set of blocks that can't be used as designed because even the instructions to build the set are only available in the app I cannot run. Sorry LEGO but this is a fail

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Son and I are loving this set The set is absolutely brilliant, my 8 year old son and I have spent all morning building things and proramming, so much so we are now resting as we have the run the batteriry out on the tablet.... The set is perfect level for beginners, simple to use the app and connetct and go through the very basic and simple to use instructions. however, do not be fooled, although a simple product and app, the possibilitiesare endless, we are both looking at how we can set up traps and gadgets for my sons bedroom I do hope they make available more motors, brains and other key functions soon as this toy will be well played with... I would say lego have a winner here and we will keep buying add ons going forward

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! Love this! My eight year old son has been playing with this practically non stop since it arrived! We have all sorts of coding toys and this is the first one that has truly held his attention. Better still, he can manage it all on his own. I never mind helping him, but I love it when he is able to completely master something on his own. He has wanted Mindstorm for years but I wanted to wait until he was older. This is the perfect precursor to Mindstorm. I highly recommend Boost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant engagement. My daughter, now 8, is lucky. She was born LEGO rich. Her dad (me) is an AFOL. That said, she has not, until today, really shown an intense interest in building. At most, she would spend maybe 20 minutes on a set, then push the unfinished project in her parts bin. Not today. I installed the batteries, and over the course of four hours only had to assist with a few stiff technic pins and tires. She loved the ability to get things moving nearly out of the box. This purchase is worth every penny, and then some.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Patience I got this build for my 7 year old son who loves to build and code so this was perfect. This build is an awsome build but lego failed in a few ways. First there is 847 parts and 11 bags and lego did not put the builds in bag order. You have to search thru all 847 parts to find what you need. One part in bag 9 next part in bag 3 next part bag 11 and so on. Very frustrating trying to find what you need. So I have been the parts finder and him the builder. Fail 2 is the box it came in. Lego should have put this build in a reclosable box like there games come in. Maybe even with a tray they use for the advent calendar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Our Tested Device doesn't work :( We checked to make sure we had a device that would work, and preordered this. We were delighted it arrived before the stated Aug 1st date. Luckily we pulled it out while the kids were asleep. We were able to find the app in the app store on our ipad mini, which is on the tested devices list Lego linked to in the item description. But when we went to download the app, it said we need ios 10 or higher to download and use. We dug a little digging and found out that the iPad mini does not support ios 10 only ipad mini 2 and up do. A new tablet is not in our future. I understand Lego need to make the software compatible with the latest and greatest system, but sure wish they let some of us with older tech be able to play. As of right now I have a box of extremely pricey legos that I can't even build the models because it has not physical building instructions and definitely can't code with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fun for everyone This product introduces himself to you. It has an App that takes kids and adults step by step through building so that kids can use this by themselves and learn building principles, use it with friends or adults. The little bot has personality. It's such a blast. Thank you LEGO for sending it early. I appreciate you launching it early and caring enough about your customers to send it to us so that we could enjoy it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rare Lego Fail I love Lego, always have. Anyway, I preordered the Boost kit and it arrived yesterday. I opened the box with my 8 year old all set to build the robot BUT there are no instructions in the box and the required App needed to build the product and control it is NOT live. I understand there is an official Launch Date for Boost, but I would think a toy company would be better prepared for this type of thing considering kids get upset. Unusual for Lego to mess up like this.
