Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition to any Lego collection! This is a great piece for any Lego fan. It is large and serves its purpose perfectly. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is a bit pricey but that is a common theme with Lego products. #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple Baseplate, does the job well Recently purchased one of this base plate as a foundation to one of my city builds. Grey is good for concrete areas with buildings next to a road plate. Perfect on a flat surface like a table, despite what everyone says about it being thin and what not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Big, but too flexible The base is very big and useful. But why is it so flexible? To save some plastic and get more profit?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful An almost must have since it is so handy as a building platform. Strongly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GARGANTUIN this set [baseplate] is very useful, in fact VERY BENDY, you would have to put a very large surface under it, here are pros. and mons: PROS. #1. it is very good for building sets on with family #2. good for putting LEGO boxes on MONS. #1. baseplate is so thin and wide it could snap #2. bottom looks very odd [LOL]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Colorwise I am building a Lego table for my grandkids and am disappointed this plate only comes in one color. A variety of colors would be desirable. Especially green.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from useful for keeping all minifigures in one place i bought this a few days ago to keep all my minifigures in one place. overall, it served the purpose though it's a bit thin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 48x48 Gray Lego Baseplate Review Overall, this Lego baseplate is pretty good. There is just one drawback. The Lego baseplate is not designed to move around. If you have a creation on it, it may bend if you move it. This is because this Lego baseplate and all Lego baseplates are thinner than a single plate. However, this Lego baseplate is at the largest size of all Lego baseplates. This means you can build a larger creation in a single Lego baseplate than a 32x32 Lego baseplate. Buying this Lego baseplate is mostly likely recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GRAY BASEPLATE The size of this baseplate is great, but value of money, kind of poor. LEGO should make baseplate this size in EVERY COLOUR!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful Having a large base plate really opens up construction options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Very Useful The base plate is very large, and is great for building structures and setting up scenes; which is exactly why I bought it. The bottom is flat, so it is thin and flimsy. I didn't plan on stacking it on anything so I'm OK with that. I recommend this to anyone who needs a lot of stud coverage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps different sets together My daughter has a few Lego Friends sets. She built them and put them on this base which is big enough to hold a few. Looks like a small village.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large base This base is great for building different things.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from large baseplate this is a large size lego base plate that fits nicely on children size table. the product itself is not very sturdy. it offers a large play area to build lego sets but somethings when you go to pull off pieces on one end its lifts up the entire plate possibly knocking down or breaking lego built on the other side. an okay base plate for casual play, could be sturdier. not worth the retail price

Rated 4 out of 5 by from lego solid base piece for your legos
Date published: 2016-12-10
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Largest plate available Largest size that LEGO offers. Easily spray-painted if you need it to be another colour, but the paint will make the plate curl upward.
Date published: 2016-12-04
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not even a real plate It's thin compared to normal plate pieces, so putting a plate piece next to it and connecting with another brick or piece usually doesn't work very well. Kind of monotone. I wish these at least were offered in other colors at this size, or a mix of colors on one base. To me, it basically provides only one function: an anchor to put a building onto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We use a lot of base plates when we create our own ideas. When building a village or Jurassic Park, the base plates are used to hold everything together. Would like to see the large base plates available in green as well to add to the realism in our creations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from GRAY BASEPLATE The baseplate is flimsier than I had expected. I feel that it should be at as thick as one of the larger flat pieces to better hold what is built in it. It would also be nice being thicker to be able to have the holes on the back to be usable to make a thicker base for appearances. Also to be able to link the baseplates together to make an even larger base for the kits with larger foot prints. for example, my Robie House model is too long for the largest baseplate - I will need two of them to hold the model. With thicker baseplates and using part #4211390 to make a sturdy sandwich base and the parts(similar to #4211387) that have holes and with the parts #4514553(as an example) to join them together like the city blocks would make the baseplate more usable. I think these baseplates are a good start toward an even better product that will help enhance the fun of Lego building.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have! Need More Colors These baseplates are a must for display. Keeps buildings and figs locked in place. Lego, if you're listening, we need more colors. White would be at the top of my list ( Frozen, all the winter sets, Star Wars Hoth ). Blue and even black would be great as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for display! I collect minifigures and putting them on a shelf wasn't an option. I took a photo frame from Ikea and sticked the base plate with double-sided tape. So I can easily use the plate later for another project.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but the product prize is a little expensive beacuse with 15 dls i can buy a lego speed champions car

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gray Basenoodle This baseplate is a thin piece of junk. If you mount your creation on it don't plan to move it, it will bend and flex like a wet noodle. It mike'd at barely 0.050 of an inch, you would think for $15 they could of added a little plastic to them. By comparison, a regular LEGO baseplate that comes in the sets are at least 0.120 to 0.125 of an inch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an essential. I have used the 5 baseplates that I own about 50 to 100 times, literally. They are so useful to build mosaics (which I build often). I have built mosaics for Sherlock Holmes, Culver's restaurant, Pepsi, Costco, RDO Truck Centers, and many others. They are also useful for building sculptures on. I have built a giant 1 ft. tall x 2 ft. wide Wells Fargo Stagecoach, a 1 and a half Winnie the Pooh and a large chef. The baseplates were very useful for these purposes. Most of my sculptures are made up of 2,000 to 6,000 bricks, so they are very heavy. These keep my things together. Thank you for making these, LEGO!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from O.K. It's really flimsy, and things don't stay on well. But it you stick smaller base plates on it things stay on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every lego fan needs some of these I bought multiple of these to make a large table for my kids to use and build a town. They are awesome. Great price and can't wait to give it to them, they will be over the moon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Please make in a 10x10 I wish these would be available in a 10x10 format. I'm trying to buy for my sons and know they would be bothered when they don't "fit" together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good if you need it I collect the Lego mini-figures. Bought a baseplate (grey) to have them in one group. Putting them along the edge was acceptable for most of them, but there were many that did not fit as easily as others, hard to put some of them on the plate because their accessories would become undone from the figure easily. I did display them in ice cube trays until I got to many, and another way was putting them on rulers and then sticking the ruler to the closet and door frame which was cute until I got to many and ran out of frame space. The base is a good place but not perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Lego's These plates are awesome for creating cities towns villages and even woods and zoo's. They are rather pricey, but if you are a true Lego creator you know you need the as a base or place to start!!! Love them!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised to see this BIG guy! Walked into the Lego store with the plan of purchasing 2 base plates. (which would eventually be part of my son's DIY LEGO table) But when I seen this BIG guy, I knew he was coming home with us. This is gonna be a great add-on for my son's lego Juniors sets! Hoping they come out with other colors so I can go back for some more.
