Customer Reviews of Multi Activity Table

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've had this Table for 5 years! We purchased this table 5 years ago for my two boys to play with their trains. They have since grown out of trains and into Legos. I repurposed this table by gluing Lego base plates to one side and painting the other side with chalkboard paint (I would not recommend doing this if you're worried about ruining the table or if you plan to not keep for a long time and resell). They still use this everyday. It's held up extremely well considering how hard they are on everything. I love many things about this table over other tables I've seen but the one thing that makes this one so awesome to suit my needs is the fact that you can take off, move and flip over the green surface. This has made it easy to keep clean and easier to use it for multiple different things.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Read the fine print! Do not make the same mistake I did! You are not buying a "train" table, this is a play table that you can use for trains if you buy separate tracks. The fact that it comes with two free trains is even more deceiving. I cannot comment on the actual product because I am planning on returning mine, but I didn't want others to be confused by the name of this product vs. what you actually get! I would expect better of Melissa and Doug.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed in this table I absolutely love the way the table looks and the size of it, but am disappointed in the table top itself. It's very cheaply made and sinks in in the middle. All of the toys roll to the middle and my child can't reach them. It also doesn't have raised sides, so the trains roll right off the table. Wish we would have gone to a store and seen this before listing as the one we wanted for a gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best train table on the market! We bought the train table for my two sons, they love to play with their Thomas the train set on it. They love art, painting and drawing with their tabletop easel on it. It is just the best all around play table in my opinion.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken in Less Than a Year. This was my son's Christmas present in 2012. It is 2013. It is already in the trash. I was just trying to vacuum my son's room. I started to move the table so I could vacuum underneath and the whole side of it broke. I cried. I can't believe it was that delicate. We left it in a precarious state for several months and it finally bit the dust in the last few weeks. Please find a stronger table for your child. This one is made of compressed wood or something - not real wood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breaks easily! This table is made of plastic covered wood composite. While children could probably jump on top of the table without problems, they can't LEAN on it or try to move it on carpet without it breaking! The pressure from the side rips the screws/bolts from the composite on the sides of the table. I am very disappointed in this product and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome if you have the space! This is HUGE, but a favorite in our house. What's great is that it's so big, my older toddler can be happily playing on it, and my younger child can pull himself up to play in a different part. My older toddler isn't at all bothered. It's durable and beautiful!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two weeks and it's already cracked. I saw a comment from someone stating they saw their child/children dancing on this table. I find that absolutely impossible. My heart would drop through the floor out of concern if I saw my son even standing in place on this table. However, my concern is not so much with the table as it serves its purpose as a place for our son to play with his train set. After only two weeks there is a crack in the corner of the table exposing a screw. My concern has to do with the customer service I received from a CSR named Al. I called to see what I could do to get the piece replaced and Al asked me for a model number and part number in order to ensure I received the proper part. Based on Al's insisting that I find the part number, I was under the impression that there were a number of variations to the play table. Turns out there appears to be only one table. So, why the runaround? I simply want to replace the part to ensure safety for my son and his friends. I expect more from Doug & Melissa products and its customer support. I hope my next attempt is met with more helpful assistance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I thought this would be a good quality, since all Melissa & Doug toys are, boy was I wrong! Cheap pressed wood...and you have to be careful putting it together because the wood splits too easy. Not at all worth the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would recommend this to everyone! I have purchased many Melissa and Doug items and I knew that I would get my moneys worth with this table. It's very good quality. The directions are very easy to read as well! You wont be dissatisfied when you get this table thats for sure! Thanks Melissa and Doug for your great items!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product! This table is well worth the money! Super sturdy (I've found my twins dancing on it before), easy to assemble, large enough for all 4 of my kids to play around it without too much arguing. Highly recommend this!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I am very disappointed with this table. First, the sides are only half-wall. A small child can crawl underneath the toy. When you look at the underside, the drawer is exposed, so it is not even suitable to underneath storage. There is only one small drawer where there is ample space for two large drawers. The drawer is only held on by one dowel. One of the supports for the top was stripped, so I cannot secure it. Also, the top is supposed to be reversible but the underneath is just a rough unfinished section. I would not buy recommend this to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My son loved it now my daughter does too When my son was almost 3 we go this for him to set up his trains/tracks on. There is plenty of room for a larger set of tracks and few buildings. It has been primarily used as a train table, but it has seen the LPS figures and playsets, blocks, and not to forget Legos/mega bloks. The only downfall for me is the one storage drawer. We have many tracks and trains and the drawer just wont hold them all. It would be ideal for me if there was a drawer on each end instead of the middle, where they can be a little deeper and longer and wider. I plan to make some rolling drawers to house all the tracks and trains and use the drawer in the middle for just the accessory pieces. Overall this table has lasted the tough abuse my two kids have put it through so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Table, Poor Construction This table looks great and is going to be great for our son, but we were pretty disappointed with the quality. When putting the table together, we discovered a few issues: 1. one of the pieces (#3) was too narrow to fit where it was supposed to. 2. one of the pieces (#2) only had 2 holes drilled for the barrel nuts, so we had to drill the rest ourselves 3. the #8 barrel nut only went halfway in. We pressed on it and a piece of the laminate popped off. We had to glue the piece back on. Again, this is a great table and we're very happy with it, but we were pretty disappointed in the quality, given the price and reputation of the Melissa and Doug products. We expected it to be perfect!! :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unhappy customer I bought this Table for my Sons for Christmas 2009. I chose this table because I liked the stow away drawer and Melissa & Doug Brand. Unfortunatley the table top is two peices and they can be romved easily, they are flimsy pieces of fiber board with a laminate top. My son, (20lb 2 yr old) stepped on one of the top peices and it broke. When I contacted the Customer Service department and requested I PURCHASE a new top, the representative I spoke to claimed they could NOT sell me one and would not replace it since it was not a defect in the toy. Why can I not buy a replacement part for this toy? She futher told me that I should go to [...] and have a peice of wood cut. Obvioulsy this representative has no idea how difficult it would be to get it cut correctly and then to finish it (in all my spare time) so my children would not get splinters from it. Very dissapointed and will not buy Melissa & Doug products in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this table...easy to put together! I have been looking at play tables for the kids for a while, for play and for therapy activites. I do not believe in coffee tables because they just become one more clutter spot for me , and they really needed a higher level than the floor to play on! Decided on the Melissa & Doug Multi-Activity Play Table. Anyways, having used A LOT of Melissa & Doug products, but never one I had to put together, I was excited and nervous at the same time. I have to say, it was the easiest put together I have ever done (and I've done ALL the ones in my house...not hubby's thing!). I was a little overwhelmed at first when I saw the instruction booklet was FIFTEEN pages long, but then when I looked at it, realized that each page was ONE STEP, with clear illustrations, and actual sized pictures of the hardware to be used on that step. Was super easy to put together, really sturdy, and MADE IN THE USA! Just thought I'd share incase anyone else was wondering about a play table for their kids. LOVE THIS ONE!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NO HARDWARE OR DIRECTIONS I unloaded all the parts to the table to assemble and there were no directions or hardware for assembly. [...] So, my son will have all the parts to this table lined up in his room and useless for a few weeks, then we'll see what happens. So far, I am not impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value! At first it seemed cheaply made but it's holding up to my 2 year-old's abuses so far. Way more durable than I thought.
