Rated 5 out of 5 by from Creative fun for my 9 year old I purchased this loom for my daughter for Christmas. Since then she has enjoyed many hours of looming fun! With this loom she has created scarves for family & friends. I don't think she would have been able to use it at a younger age - so I definitely recommend for children 9 years and older. A great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gift! We gave this to our six year old grandson who is very creative and loves to make things. He loved it and proceeded to make his first coaster with very little help. It was a big hit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my loom I'm a grown-up with no children, but I bought this loom because I wanted to see if I would enjoy weaving without spending a ton of money on a hobby I didn't like. I love it! I've made multiple wall hangings that are absolutely gorgeous and my next project is a pillow. The loom is sturdy, it was super simple to put together, and I actually really like the big chunky needle for doing large stretches of tabby weaving. I can't speak to the instructions because I didn't look at them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Purchased 5! I purchased this product with the thought of a leisurely activity for myself (53 yr old) and others. The evening I made the purchase, I was curious regarding the assembly of the loom due to a mix in reviews of the setup. Finding the assembly easy enough, I was in a therapeutic trance as I weaved my scarf using directions, amazed at what I was creating....I went back to the store of purchase the next day and bought 3 more looms (two the day before) to share with friends and family.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from PLEASE TELL HOW TO FINISH THE PROJECTS!! Basically, as already stated, the instructions just say: sew up the purse to finish it.....What about all the loops at the ends?? Searched all over youtube looking for somebody who might know and everybody seems to have the same frustrations. Please. FIX THIS!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs better instructions My 6 year old daughter loves weaving with the loom. The problem is that the instructions tell you how to do the weaving... but NOT how to do the finishing of the project. For the crafty carry-all purse, it tells you how to weave it and remove from the loom. But then, it basically just says, sew it into a purse and add a button... but doesn't tell you how. Nor does it tell you what to do with the extra looms on the end of the weaving. I have tried looking on the Melissa and Doug website and on you-tube for a tutorial on how to do this... but have found none.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Confusing Assembly The assembly was confusing I didn't know if it was supposed to come with barrel nuts or not.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wrong tools in kit My niece opened this kit for Christmas and was excited to get started. The wooden needle was the only tool given to weave the yarn. A shuttle would make this kit complete and much more enjoyable. As it is, I had to go out and spend extra money for a shuttle, otherwise she would've given up in frustration. Please add a shuttle, or don't bother frustrating your children.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from missing pieces My 11 year old daughter was so excited until she was weaving the owl tapestry with the cardboard strips provided and found that there are 2 of #14 and #13 is missing. So she had to undo the first project she tried to make. And so one of the projects that are provided is deemed useless. Other than that it's a cool toy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 7 year old *LOVES* this kit!!! I love that everything you need is included. The loom and the wooden needle that comes with the kit are good quality. The yarn that comes with the kit is beautiful thick rainbow color that any child would love. It did not take long for my daughter to figure out the loom weave technique. This is probably the longest time I think I've seen her sit with undevided attention and joy. She is not only beaming with confidence, but has a happy disposition in the fact that she can do this all by herself. Wonderful gift for any kid that likes arts and crafts. Highly recommend!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs improvement Potentially a good item. Needs a better way to draw the yarn through. Using the wooden needle is time consuming and not well thought out. Should have a baton or another way the thread all the yarn though in one go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend this product My daughter received this as a gift for her 6th birthday. She just loves it and can spend over an hour at one time working with it. It is a great way to spend the afternoon if we're stuck indoors. I love seeing her create things and taking such pride in her work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from more projects I have a very tight budget and had to save to pay for this. I can afford special frilly and girly scarves and matching hats etc....for my niece. This gave her the ability to make her own scarf and purse and gifts for others and she was so proud. It gave her something my money could not buy. Self Esteem and Pride in her work.
