Rated 3 out of 5 by from It worked for the first Grit, but started leaking during the second phase The rock tumbler worked well for the first coarse grit tumble, which lasts 4 days. The rocks cam out very smooth. During the second grit, it leaked water with grit and whatever came off the rocks through the machine. The Tumbler has a hole at the very bottom of it, which may be put there to allow drainage, but it should be leaking in the first place. What happened was that there is a see-through plastic on the right side of the barrel with a rubber seal, and that cam off. If the plastic had not come off I would have kept it, too bad, maybe works better than the one I received.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kids love this! These really are great. They work very well too. Special selection of stones which come with the machine shine up really well but so do regular old rocks my kids took a liking to. My only two cautions are: You do need a secluded area to leave it running as it does make a bit of a racket. And it takes at least 2 weeks to get through all the steps to polish your stones up nice - some people don't realize it takes so long.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NEAT BUT NOISY!!! Rock tumbling is neat, but what you don't realize is, that it isn't for the impatient or impulsive. It takes up to four weeks of constant tumbling to do all of the stages of (smoothing, polishing, etc). If you are like us, you think: "Sure--the wait is worth it" and you plug it in, and then suddenly realize that rocks make ALOT of noise when they tumble. Maybe you think you can handle it, but we could not. It really is a racket. We moved it outside, but it makes quite a ruckus out there too, and it the summer (it would freeze in the winter because water is involved) with the neighbors windows open, it wasn't an option. So what we have to settle for is to turn it on when we're away at work and school for the day, and turn it off when we are at home. This effectively triples the time though, so it now takes about 10-12 weeks to polish the stones.
