Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my daughter's favorites This is a great tool set. First off, I love that it is gender neutral. So many tool sets are obviously geared towards boys, which is frustrating, as my daughter loves tools and fixing things. Great size for little hands, the screws really work well and it is fun to see what my daughter and nieces build with it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One star for a major educational flaw..... Our 3 year old loves building everything with this set.....and wants to learn how to measure. However, the ruler incorrectly starts off at 1 inch instead of zero. The ruler says its 8 inches when it is actually 7 inches. For a smart kid who is really interested in learning how to measure correctly, it's a shame that this tool was made with a major flaw.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute Idea We got this as a gift for my sons first Xmas because I LOVE the idea of personalizing since I never find my boys names on toys. I wish his name had been bigger or on both sides of the toolbox since it's so small and dark it doesn't stand out. My son LOVES the hammer and uses it on his other tool bench but the wooden screws don't screw into anything but the nut which is hard for my son to old both the nut and the screwdriver especially to the little boards with holes that come with it. Although the nails fit perfect I just wish it had come with more! This tool box is great for counting, sorting, pointing out colors, and carrying all of his tools.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made It all fell apart. The glue let go and it had to be thrown out after a few uses because it was unsafe to have around younger children.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My 2 & 3yr old Love Their Tool Kit! I wasn't sure about this tool kit based on some of the reviews I read online but I ordered 2 anyway for my boys (age 2 and 3-1/2) since they were free with my reward points. They've been playing with the kits for almost 2 hours and I've actually gotten some things done around the house! There are many things you can do with the pieces, many parts fit over or plug right into the holes on the side of the tool box. The screwdriver is a bit small for the screws but still does the trick. The wrench is a little too big/loose for the nails but they still like playing with it. I showed each child how to do a few things and that was it, they took off "fixing" things around the house! As for durability, my youngest has already chipped one of the nails but he is rough with his toys so I'm not surprised. One of the holes in the box is splintering just the slightest bit but he's been non-stop hammering at it so no toy is going to withstand that. All in all, this a great toy for boys. I've decided to give one to a 3yr old at an upcoming birthday party.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mobile and portable - Maneuverable Great to transport fun to Grandma's and Grandpa's where they can, and will surely be put to good use for imaginative and problem solving play, regardless of age, because of their versatility and durability. The only thing that could make it better would be a canvas case in which to carry it, to prevent transport spills. Able to be monogrammed would be even better to increase personalization potential. who doesn't love building and using tools? Isn't that what children learn about what humans do?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing, engaging toy! I bought this for the son (1 year old) of our close friends and he loves it. He will engage for extended periods of time and problem solve--at such a young age!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun toy, but needs improvement We just bought this toy for my 17 month old daughter. So far she loves it. She likes to put the screws and pegs through the holes of the toolbox. Like another reviewer, we can't figure out how you would use the screwdriver unless the toolbox itself had some threaded screw holes, which it does not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a favorite Of all our many M&D toys, this one probably gets played with the least, perhaps for reasons specific to our family. It comes with a hammer and nails, but both my 1 year old and my 3 year old still prefer the M&D pound and roll tower for hammering. It also comes with a screwdriver, but this is basically just a long piece of wood that is fairly sharp at one end. I think it would be fine for a 3 year old to play with (and that's the age it is intended for) but because I also have a 1 year old who likes to put it in her mouth and wobble around, I had to put this out of reach for the time being. My son hasn't been able to master the wrench yet, (turning a wrench while holding both the top of the screw and the wooden backing it's supposed to screw into takes a lot of coordination). Maybe he just hasn't given it enough time, but he's not interested enough to make much of an effort. It's brightly colored and catches the eye, and my daughter sometimes plays with the hammer when my son is using our other one, but that's about it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice toy, but could be better My 2 1/2 year old loves this, but keeps asking me for more nails (there are 2 in the set). I don't understand the purpose of all the screws- they are difficult for even me to use- they fall through the holes, and it's really hard to tighten them with the wooden wrench. I think the toy would be much better with more nails to pound. I would love to buy more nails but can't find them to purchase anywhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from How to build? 3 year old twins khow to use tools but could not apply them to the pieces included in the set. Parents could not figure out uses for screw driver. Screws just slipped in. I am use that once we know how to use it they will love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this tool kit! My son received this as a gift last year & he plays with it all the time. Now that my daughter is walking around she plays with it as well. They share the pieces together & play individually as well. I am going to buy a 2nd set for them so they can each have their own tool box. The 1st set is still going strong & none of the pieces have broken, I cannot say that about many of their other toys. I am very happy with this set. It was a great gift!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mommas little helper My two year old got this from his aunt. He always loved playing w/ dad's tools and now he loves having his own tool box to help dad out! He is still a little too young to use the screw diver, but he loves pounding!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great toy! My son got this for his second birthday and has loved it from the start! He often will "fix" things around the house when I get tools out. He can't quite maneuver the screws yet, but it is a great way for us to have fun together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My son is a proud carpenter! My son loves loves loves this! He was interested in this toy from day one, and he still is (even more so) two years later! His father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle (as well as great uncles and great grand uncles) are carpenters. He is so proud to go out to the garage with his Dad and have a toolbox of his own. The toy is very challenging for young children, but it promotes family interaction which I am always for! Get a little bit older, and he/she can do it on their own!!! Wonderful! The box could be a little bigger to fit projects they are "working on" into their box to carry along.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Manny Substitute My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves watching Handy Manny. We searched high and low for a good tool set for her to play with. What we found were either cheaply made or expensive. This tool set is great and my daughter plays with it every day trying to fix things around the house. She sings Handy Manny while she's doing it too. I can't recommend this set enough for those that are looking for an entertaining tool set for a 2-3 year old which is built to last and of great value.
