Rated 1 out of 5 by from Let down We have a LOT of Melissa and Doug toys in our home and we love them. Our daughter was given this for her birthday and it is such a let down. The emotions on the bears are primarily negative and have angry, sad and scared faces. What I thought would be a wonderful happy teddy bear puzzle is actually more doom and gloom than joyful. It's a shame. She doesn't enjoy the puzzle because she thinks they crying all the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AWESOME product with ONE IMPROVEMENT This product is fantastic -- my almost 3 year old loves it. It aids in motor skill development (because you have to place the clothing pieces), emotional development (because the bears have different expressions), social skills (bc they have little outfits for sleeping, rain etc.). It's a great toy, and nice quality. It has captivated her narrative imagination in ways that an ordinary puzzle never does. I just have one major complaint: "Mommy" bear seems to be a 50s housewife. Example: my THREE year old says spontaneously "Mommy bear's legs are going to get cold. Where are her pants?" Because mommy's outfits are all mini skirts. Mommy also has no work or even "dressy" clothes (I'm a working mom, so I care about these things) even though Daddy has a smart suit. I find it disappointing that a great company like Melissa & Doug would have such retrograde ideas about a woman's clothing needs!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mama Bear doesn't work? I bought this cute puzzle based on positive reviews. So far my son seems interested in it, and it is a nice next step after peg puzzles and allows for some imagination. However, I was disappointed when looking at the outfits that Papa Bear seems to have a work suit as well as an outdoorsy-type outfit, while Mama Bear seems to just wear housedresses and pajamas. Is it too much to ask for Mama Bear to have one work-appropriate outfit?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasts and Lasts We have an older version of this puzzle that was purchased for my, now 20 yr old, daughter when she was 2 or 3. It withstood the test of time with her and with her younger sister. It has now begun being used by my 2 1/2 yr old grandson and he loves it! The pieces are very sturdy and the outfits are colorful and have not faded one bit even after 20 years! It was well worth whatever we paid back in "the day"!!! Awesome, awesome puzzle!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to daycare kit We added this to the "bears" kit for our library's daycare outreach program and it has generated very positive feedback from the providers. The children love mixing and matching and it has been a great tool in discussing emotions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Love this puzzle" Bought this for my two year old daughter this past Christmas, and boy does she love it!!!! She has learned a lot about emotions and tells me why they are mad/happy etc. She loves picking out their little clothes to wear. I'm glad I bought this puzzle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a winner! Daughter received this as a brithday gift on her 2nd birthday, just over a month ago and has played with it nearly every day since. Gives endless amusement as the possibilities are constantly changing. Is proving a great help with reinforcing emotional states, as well as helping with colour recognition and co-ordination fitting all the pieces together. Would definitely recommend to anyone, looking for something slightly different within the 'puzzle' family.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from manufacturing problem I ordered this puzzle online. About 3 months later when I got it out to play with my niece and my granddaughter, about half of the pieces were completely delaminated. They separated into three or more layers. I called the company and was told it was no longer in stock, so they sent me a different puzzle. I'm considering reordering, but I'm left with the box and half the pieces. The person I spoke with told me he never heard of this happening before and it must be a manufacturing problem. The puzzle was not subjected to any adverse conditions (water, heat, etc.) so I don't really know what happened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for teaching emotions I know the package says 3 and up but my 2 year old and I play with this together. It's been good to help her describe emotions and it's been a fun and creative game to dress up the bears. Great for her motor skills too. With a little help she can fit the pieces in the puzzle. I Love the storage box. I wish all of her puzzles were as easy to store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daughter's Favorite Puzzle! I gave this to my daughter just before she turned 3. It is by far her favorite puzzle to play with! She loves changing the outfits on the bears and since the bears have different expressions on their faces it's a great opportunity for me to talk to her about emotions. Great toy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great social emotional toy I bought this for my four year old daughter who has a hard time expressing her emotions. She loves this toy! She dresses up Papa, Mama and herself and explains how she thinks everyone is feeling. It's fantastic and providing hours of educational and creative fun. Thank You !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Toy! My daughter got this puzzle for her 2nd birthday 9 months ago and still loves playing with it. She loves to mix & match the outfits and make up stories depending on what face she uses for each bear. Great tool for imaginative play!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for 2 year old My 2 year old received this as a birthday gift. I would not have thought to purchase it for her myself, but I am glad that she got it! She really enjoys playing with it on her own and as a family activity. It did take a few times showing her what to do, but now she can do it all on her own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mama, Papa, and Baby Bear Fun Time Bought this for my little next-door neighbor, age 3. He loves it, and it is now his favorite toy. The outfits are very cute, and the whole thing should be in every child's toy box. (Fun for Moms and Dads to play with, too).
