Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Winner! Our 5-year-old grandson is learning to tie with this shoe. He has Asperger's,so the tactile appeal of the big-red-shoe is really helpful . Also, the size of the shoe is perfect for his motor skills.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Melissa and Doug I can not say enough about the products made by this company. Great Quality , wonderful teaching tools and children LOVE to play with them! They just prove that toys do not have to have every bell whistle horn and light to be loved by children. Most of the my child's toys will be Melissa and Doug toys and I won't regret buying them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from March 11,2010 The children just love this shoe. Its by far the best lace up shoe on the market. I have tried many other lace up products ( Books with shoes attached and other small lace up shoes. This shoe is very well made and the children love to work with this beautiful shoe. Doug and Melissa come out with some of the best toys and the prices are very reasonable compared to other wooden toys. Excellent job I have a lot of Doug and Melisssa products

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Neat idea! I bought my 4 year old a book to learn how to tie shoes but this looked much eaiser to learn on. Its very well made and after we have mastered teaching her to tie her own shoes, we can teach her how to do other knots as well. The string is very long and the shoe holds itself up so your not trying to balence it while making a loop.
