He shares his memories with his infant son while sitting quietly by a lake. "We tell stories because the soul depends on them," he says. Brad Thomas Batten is a writer and painter with a background in religious studies and literature. His first novel, JourneyMind, draws from a lifetime of travel and reflection, and was published in 2001. He lives in Kingston, Ontario, where he is a member of the Kingston Arts Council.
