On June 1, 1945, Anna Molna?r Hegedu?s sits in her hometown of Szatma?r, Hungary to write her story. She has survived the ghetto, Auschwitz, the horrific Schlesiersee camp, and a death march. Separated from her daughter, during the march, she waits desperately for Agnes's return.
Anna Molnár Heged?s was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire on August 2, 1897. She married in Szatmár (Satu-Mare), then in Romania on June 14, 1921, and had two children. Anna Heged?s immigrated to Israel in 1949 and to Canada in 1952. She died in 1979.
