Ever since Viola's boyfriend broke up with her, she has spent her days silently wishing—for someone to love her again and, most important, to belong again—until her wishes inadvertently summon a genie named Jinn out of his world and into her own. He will remain until she makes three wishes. But it's only after Viola makes her first wish that she realizes she's in love with Jinn . . . and that if she wishes twice more, he will disappear from her life—and her world—forever.

Jackson Pearce spins a magical tale about star-crossed lovers, what it means to belong . . . and how important it is to be careful what you wish for.

If Jackson Pearce had three wishes, she would wish for wisdom, patience, and for life to be a little more like a musical. She began writing when the school librarian told her there weren't any books that contained a smart girl, horses, baby animals, andmagic. Her solution was to write the book herself. Jackson currently lives in Atlanta...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What Would You Wish For? If you fell in love with a being that wasn't exactly a human, what would you do? This book is about wishful thinking and a girl who wants nothing more than to just fit in. It's also about a jinn who realizes that there's more to his life than sitting around in his slow and unemotional life. True happiness. It's about 2 totally different beings who are forced together by fate, and help each other realize who they are and what they want in life. I seriously just fell in love with the whole book and I really wish there was a sequel, but there isn't so I guess I can cope. You'll really love this book. I know you will. It was seriously amazing and that's all there is to it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from For a younger reader As much as I love Jackson Pearce, I have to say I loved reading Sisters Red and Sweetly so much more. Not to say As You Wish was a bad book. It is a good, fun, and very quick read. I think the age this is targeted at is more in the 12 to 16 year old range, but I knew that going into the book. The romance was sweet, the friendship was honest, and the ending fit well. I'm glad I read it, just sad I didn't love it.
